  1. Thanks so much for your report! We are sailing on Silly 2x this year- in the med and then the 4 night with a group of friends. This will be my first time on anything but Edge Class since hmmmmmm...2018? Very happy to hear Silly is still so wonderful. Good luck with your alcohol and food detox! LOL

  2. Thank you so much for another great live trip report! Someday I hope to jump on in the beginning of the trip to "take the ride" along with you, but it seems I am always late to your party! Looks like you had another wonderful Celebrity cruise- I just wanted to say, another vote for Regent if you are looking to try somewhere new- I am just Elite, so still enjoying Celebrity very much. Have you been on Flora? We just came back earlier this month- was a great adventure!! Hope to go back for the outer loop to see all of the islands (this time we were inner loop) and animals in a few years- 🙂

Yesterday, was a beautiful day in Nice.  We were in Villefranche and tendered in.  It took about 20 minutes.

So, I don’t usually make recommendations on tours, etc., but I am making an exception in this case.  We took a wonderful 8-hour excursion from Villefranche with Ingrid S with Tours by Locals.  The name of the tour was “3 Countries in a Day.”  This was an exceptional private tour.  We drove along the middle and upper coastal roads with photo stops of Nice and Villefranche and the took a guided tour through the village of Eze (only 29 residents).  The only way to see the village is on foot though and it is a very steep climb.  But, at the top (429 meters/1400 feet), you have spectacular views of the French Riveria.  Then we drove into Italy to the Italian Riveria village of Dolceacqua for a lunch stop and a guided walk through a medieval village.  Next, we drove to the Principality of Monaco and drove a short way on the Formula 1 race track and visited the port with luxury yachts and the palace in the distance and then an opportunity to visit the casino in Monte Carlo.  This was a fantastic tour if you wanted something a little different.  Highly recommend.

It was a long day so we had a quick dinner in Ocean View and then called it a day.  We are in Santa Margherita today and with no planned tours, we plan to take the tender in and walk around for a bit.

Dinner tonight is at Le Petite Chef so I’ll report back later tonight.  It’s always a wonderful meal so I’m not expecting anything different tonight.

Oh, I LOVE Ingrid! She is wonderful, we have toured with her twice- such a lovely person, so knowledgeable, so much fun! Happy 60th! I will be turning 60 on Flora next month- always the BEST birthday is on a cruise ship! 🙂

Hope you are enjoying your cruise. How do you like the ship?

We all LOVED Ama Viola. Staff was incredible, food was wonderful (they had the BEST soup and salads, we all had to get them always in addition to all the other yummy food). Our Cruise Manager, Luis, was above and beyond- my phone died when we arrived in Budapest- he took it out to be repaired. Really a fantastic time- I hope you enjoy yours as much!!

Hi! Thank you so much! You will have a blast! To be honest, the ship was on the warmer sideline. Especially the first few days of the cruise. I noticed as the cruise went on, it was getting a little cooler. One of the hottest places on the ship was outside out studio b (which was the ice skating rink). Studio b was one of the coolest spots (ice rink so it makes sense). The AC in our room was good, standard cruise ship air conditioner. Hope this helps!

Thank you, it does really help. We can't sleep hot, so I have been freaking out a little that the cabin is going to be sweltering. I am fine with it being warm in other areas- it's summer and we are going towards the equator, lol- but I need to be able to sleep at night!  I have been reading that people have their filters changed in their cabins and that helps, so I am ready with what to do, just in case, I guess- just would rather not worry about it! We are all looking forward to a fun time. 🙂 Thanks so much!!

  6. We are booked on our first HAL (also on NS) this December and I will be on my 5th Celebrity when I board Edge 1 week from today!  Thank you so much for the comparison- we really love Celebrity, but are looking forward to all of that amazing music (and the wine blending) in addition to new ports on HAL. 😊
