I had two lots of Venice/Ravenna change FCC...when received the certificates, both say

    • Any booking made using this FCC must be used for a sailing that commences on or before June 30, 2022

Thanks for this info…when was your cruise?   We finished Oct 8, and it  seems logical the FCC would expire a year from then.

I called and felt like I got the runaround on this.  The likes of “even though there wasn’t mention of an expiration date in the letter doesn’t mean there isn’t one”.  I may try emailing with a copy of their letter attached.

for those who have certificates, (we never received any), what was the time span between when you finished your cruise and when the certificate expired?   Thanks kindly.

  2. We were supposed to receive $300 FFC as our disembarkation port was changed from Venice to Ravenna.  Azamara sent us a letter which I saved.    We signed up for next year’s cruise while on board and was told to call Azamara to have it applied to the booking.

Called today and was told that our FCC expires in June, our sailing isn’t till September.  Is this common?  The letter said nothing about an  expiration date.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

    Thanks

  3. Thanks for the replies so far, I should say though I'm not asking about a free upgrade, but I've read other posts when someone gets a call after final payments are made and is offered a better class cabin for a fee that is less than the usual cost difference. I was just wondering if those types of offers are made through TA's or to those that book direct.

We got a call on our last cruise selling us an upgrade into a suite.

We were on an early season cruise to St P. We were traveling with friends of which two had booked directly with Celebrity and one not. We didn't want to switch to suites unless we all could, and the booking with the TA was the problem. After many phone calls, waiting, etc. we all upgraded, however there was some nail biting because of the TA booking.

  4. We used Irina K. From Tours By Locals. (There are three Irina's so make sure you look for the "K") It was an exceptional 2 days. it was Victory Day in Russia and the crowds were impressive. Irina knew some things would be closed and mixed up our days so we could see it all. She bought all of our tickets ahead of time so there was virtually no waiting in line. We visited all of the major sights, went underground on the subway, took a ride through the canals and visited a local grocery store as well as seeing more authentic St P compared to all the glossy, shiny government buildings. She asked about us, and told us about herself. She gave us an excellent tour and we highly recommend her.

  5. I was shocked that some people arrange tours on roll calls for personal gain.

I know for a fact that a person on our cruise inflated the cost of the tours she was touting. She has since dropped out of the cruise...maybe didn't make her quota.

Lesson learned...do your homework. Find out how much tours are going for before you sign up. Find out who the tour operator is, and if that information is not forthcoming, don't go on that tour.

  6. We are flying from FCO to SFO after our cruise. There is a 12:50 flight...do you think this will work? We could self disembark to get an earlier start. Thanks for your input.

  7. Ship. Silhouette

    Cabin. 1615

    Deck. 11

    Class. Suite

    Area. Aft

    Bed. Separate bedroom

    Quiet. No - see comments

    Balcony view. Beautiful

    Balcony Size. Large

    Wind. No

    Soot. No

Problems/Comments. This was our first suite experience and we loved the room till the noise started. Apparently this room is situated above a room used for construction. The noise comes through the walls especially in the bedroom.

  8. I'm posting back after our cruise to the Baltics. On disembarkation day, we had to catch a 9:55 flight to Liverpool. We self disembarked at 6:15am, caught a taxi (65€ to Schipol) and were waiting by bag drop with more than an hour to spare. A woman who disembarked with us took the train to the airport, and she was also early. There were plenty of taxis out front.

  9. We were a party of 6 and just returned from a cruise to the Baltics. When researching St P, it occurred to me to use the Tours By Locals site which we had used extensively in the past with great results. We chose Irina K because she had a base price for her services and the driver which was paid in advance to Tours By Locals. For all other costs including museums, palaces lunch etc. she covered in rubles and we did an exchange on the last day paying in USD. It was brilliant and if anyone whould like further info, I would be happy to share.

  10. We have a chance to visit our English friends in Liverpool after our cruise. We dock at 6:00am on a Sat. In Early May. We will self disembark, and if it makes it more doable take a taxi to the airport. If you think the train will be ok, please let me know that too. Do you think we can make this flight? We will check in the night before and just do bag drop at the airport. Thanks for your help.

  11. We are thinking of taking a 9:55am flight after disembarking in Amsterdam on Sat, May 16. It won't be an international flight - taking Easy Jet over to Liverpool. Do you think this is too tight of a window? We will do self-disembarking and the ship is slated to dock at 6:00am. Thanks for your help - hopefully someone has done something similar to this.
