Hello all. Anna i was born in Sudbury.  Haven’t been back for years.

booked for my daughter so in law and grandchild.

I too am wondering how to get a place to leave our car.   We are driving down.
    ann.

White123 we are driving too. Currently registered to leave our care at 670 W43rd in a covered car park. It’s only a few of blocks from the terminal apparently.
we are considering a stay and park if we can find one with shuttle though.

  2. We are doing a TA from Southampton down to Canary I and across to Miami this November. Two questions…does anyone know how long it takes to get from Southampton to the English Channel and then to the Atlantic?

Hoping for good weather but knowing there will be some cooler days, when might we expect it to start to warm up as we come across closer to Miami? It’s a six day trip.
    thank you!!

  3. We sailed on Glory March 8 - 16 and I failed to be impressed by the 2.0 upgrades. This was the first ship we've sailed on that has been upgraded to 2.0; our 14th cruise with Carnival.

We didn't like the new menu in the dining room and found it confusing and not much of a selection compared to previously. Desserts weren't as good and the Melting Cake is better out of my own oven then what I had on Glory. I've always loved it until this time around.

The dining room has less drink staff, but the same number of dining staff with more tables so the services isn't as personal. No linens in the dining room unless it's on formal night so the tables are less appealing.

We were in the Platinum room and there was a lot of vibration so things moved around the table a lot; during dinner and brunch.

Guys Burger's were great as were the fries.

Less bar staff on the Lido and outside decks. I only had one drink from a waiter, the rest of the time we had to go to the bar ourselves.

Shows were good, nice to have a change after the last 10 years though less dancing. The singing is shared among all rather than two main singers. The decor is nice, fresh and appealing. Room stewards are great as always, as is room service.

All in all, we'll stay away from 2.0 ships as much as possible until there isn't a choice then decide if we will sail with another line more often instead.

  4. Probably not so strange as sad...on one of our cruises there was a guy who sat at the same bar all day and night. He was there regardless of the time of day we passed him and always on the same stool and he always had a bucket of beer beside him.

On the same cruise there was what some call a 'cougar'. She wore a one piece white bathing suit that you could see through when it got wet. She sat down beside any man that wasn't with someone, usually a younger man. My husband was about the same age as her I think and the first time she sat beside him when I went to get something I put her in her place when we came back with just a look.
