  1. Sailing in January on the H A Westerdam. We have cabin 4172, anyone had this cabin? The upper dinning room is right below us. The price was great, so we took it. I am hoping that noise from the dinning room won't bother us. Thanks in advance.

  2. My husband and I did a TA last year in spring. We packed with just a carry on as we were spending 6 weeks touring Europe. We did just fine not having the formal wear. My husband wore a pair of dark slacks and a collard shirt, I wore a back dress or black capri's with a dressier top. We were never turned away nor do I feel we spoiled it for those who wanted to dress up. I did research how to pack in a carry on, rolling vs layering vs bundling. We did the rolling. It worked great for us. It is a matter of choice and your comfort level. Do what makes you happy. Don't worry about the fashion police I doubt if they can ticket in international waters. LOL

This is just my opinion and how we feel.

  3. I agree 100% with lyndamr! I want to be able to enjoy my vacation that I have paid for my way. My clothes are always clean along with my person. I don't have to get all dressed up to enjoy myself nor do I want to be looked upon as riff raff just because I choose not to dress formal. I don't believe that I have ruined someones dinner just because of my dress. We all need to relax and just enjoy ourselves. There are a lot of terrible things taking place in the world. Let's not have our dress or not to dress to part of that. Happy cruising everyone.

  4. Just wondering if it would be possible to do a day trip from the port in Naples to Capri? I would like to see the blue grotto. I think we have around 8 hours in Naples. Thanks in advance.

  5. I agree that the customer service is also suffering. I was thinking of booking a TA with them, now not so sure. I have had to hold for a cruise specialist far too long, like hours. I did not expect that from RCCL. This was going to be just our second time on RCCL. I am now rethinking about booking with them. I can understand a wait especially with all the so called specials they are offering. Doesn't sit well with me if no one can answer the phone. I guess they don't need or want our business.

  6. I really enjoy all the great tips on packing. I will be doing my TA with just a carry on and a back pack. My biggest challenge will be my shoes. My feet aren't the best. I will need to take my tennis shoes and my sandles, I do not want to have to take much more. We will be staying in Europe for an additional 4 weeks or so. We have always tried to pack light but never seemed to make it happen. Keep the tips coming I am loving them. Thanks again for all the help.

  7. We will be staying at the Riverside for our cruise. I asked and found out that there is a pharmacy that we can walk to. Are there any grocery or liquor stores that we can walk to? I see everyone talking about Total wine and the Publix stores, not sure if it is in our neighborhood. Once again thanks.

  8. Thinking and trying to plan TA cruise. What are our transportation options for getting to the airport from the cruise terminal in Barcelona? If we use a taxi we will need to pay in Euros? How does one get Euros after getting off the ship? Are there ATM machines around or will the ship be able to provide us with Euros? Thanks everyone for your help.

  9. We are thinking about doing the transatlantic cruise next spring. We would then like to spend about 2 weeks traveling in Europe after the cruise. My concern is the weather on the way over and what type of clothing we will need? We are not very formal people and like to travel light. Would really just like to use our backpacks but know that with the cruise it would not be feasible. We have cruised before, just never for that long and that many sea days. We would appreciate any help or suggestions. Thanks.
