Last week I booked Giovanni's table for 2 separate nights for my cruise next week. Check the website this morning and the price for Giovanni's dropped $8 per person. I would cancel and rebook, however the reservation times available are horrible and don't want to lose the times that I already have. Is there a way to get the difference credited back? Any other way to get the new discounted price?

I don't know. To me $52 plus gratuity a day seems high. I thought the prices would go down closer to sail date, but it's doing the opposite. At this price I would need to drink at least 7 drinks a day just to break even. Not sure if I can keep that up. Anyone know if they tend to drop prices a bit in the last 2 weeks before sail?

I've been keeping an eye on the prices for the deluxe drink package for my cruise in 3 weeks. Read that there are sales that come up on occasion. Not only did I not see any sales, but in the last 5 weeks the price went up by $5 and is now $52 usd per day!
Finally yesterday I get an email promoting a 20% off sale for the package, but when I click into it, the price is still showing $52! Where's the sale? Is this some sort of bogus scam? At these prices I'm better off paying as I go on the ship.
Anyone else notice this?

Oasis has unlimited wifi for around $200. You DO NOT need to go to the Internet cafe to sign up.
Internet onboard will be good enough to stream Netflix and use skype. FaceTime is hit or miss.

I just got off the oasis last week. It is true that Skype worked fairly well. I was not able to connect with FaceTime, and tried to stream netflix on my ipad which did not work at all. Internet was pretty fast, but not nearly enough to play long YouTube clips or netflix.

No problem. Just disappointed they don't have real poker. How hard would it be to have a couple of live dealers? Who wants to play hold em with no chips, cards etc? Not fun.

Just off Oasis, the internet speeds were not sufficient to support FaceTime.
How about skype?

Will be going on the Oasis in a couple of weeks. Read some mixed reviews about the food in the dining room. Was wondering, are there any dishes that should definitely be avoided? Conversely, are there some dishes that shouldn't be missed? Hope to enjoy some good meals! Opinions appreciated.

Really? 5 or 6 tables every night? With live dealers? Can anyone else confirm this?

all of rccl ships have live poker as do conard
Can anyone confirm this? I will be on the oasis, and heard there is only the lame poker pro.

Does the Oasis of the seas hold any poker tournaments? I'm talking about ones with live dealers, cards and chips. None of that video poker pro nonsense. Thanks!

Well that's a bummer. I don't even mind playing cash games, as long as there's a live dealer. That video poker takes all the fun and feeling out of the game.

Anyone else have any experience with this?

Anyone have any experience using these, specifically on the Oasis? We will be bringing our ipad and would love to speak with our kids while out at sea. Obviously we would like the video feature to work. Has anyone used either of these on the oasis and had it work well, or is it a waste of time to even buy an internet package. Thanks!

We currently have the Central Park package which includes chops, Giovanni's and 150 Cp. We figured the rest of the week we would eat in the MDR.
After reading some comments and reviews on the food, I'm starting to think I should add more specialty restaurants for the week. For us the dining experience is an important part of the cruise.
For those who frequented a lot in the specialty restaurants, will we be disappointed with the MDR? I expect the quality to be less, but at the same time I don't want to leave dinner hungry. Thoughts appreciated.

If they had a ribeye, I wonder why they would take that one off the menu. Anyone who knows steak would say that a ribeye is arguable the most flavourful and tastiest cut you can get. That's just odd.
-
I checked out the menu and the choice of cuts are between the filet, new york, or porterhouse. (No ribeye? What is that about?)
So which is their tastiest steak? I don't normally care too much for filets, but if you say it's their best, I would try it.
Thanks!

Well, if now only one guest per stateroom can purchase a package, what's to stop me, err, I mean people, from sharing beverages with one another?
Drink Package Sale?!?

I've certainly noticed that! Every week or so I recieve an email claiming a 20 or 25% discount on the drink package. When clicking on the link the price always remains $52 per person without fail. What kind of a sale is that? I would probably have to drink 8-9 a day just to break even. Not even close to worthwhile for me. I keep reading about people getting deals of $42 and such. Never seen prices even close to that in the last 3 months, and I cruise next week! Frustrating.
