  1. We have an 11:50 AM flight on Southwest can we use the valet service? We are so excited to have an earlier flight. We usually have to wait around until 5:00 PM or later. Most of the time we stay the extra day especially if its a Saturday to Saturday.

  2. We were a party of 13 and just got off Allure on July 2nd. We are Emerald and the port staff was nice and let the group follow me on the ship. Even if they didn't we would have been on very fast anyway. Getting to the port just before 11AM we were on in no time. Headed right to the Windjammer and grabbed lunch. It was starting to get crowded as we were leaving to explore. We ended up camping out at the pool until 1PM when rooms were ready. Getting off the ship was very quick as well.

We ate at Giovanni's and it was outstanding. All the shows were a big hit with the group. We did not eat in the MDR much. Mostly the Windjammer which had the least variety of food we have ever seen in a WJ. Slightly disappointing but we were really looking for quick meals and thats what we got.

We had one day of rain and no one got off the ship in St Kitts. We pulled in and pulled out within hours. the rain had caused mudslides (not the good kind) and shut down the island. They even closed schools.

A couple of us did the All Access Tour. This was outstanding and so interesting.

It was all in all a great week for all of us. Hope yours is as well!

  3. Our food on Harmony was the best we have had on any RCI ship, especially the Windjammer. They had a shrimp night in the Windjammer that my wife loved and I had the Mongolian stir fry several nights. We were not impressed with Wonderland as we are picky eaters[emoji1].

I had the Mongolian Stir Fry a few times. Mixing up the meat/shrimp options with spice levels I never left disappointed.

  4. I am currently on Harmony on the last day of a 7day cruise. I've only eaten in Windjammer one time and that was for lunch on the first port day. It wasn't crowded then but we walked through it one other time and it was super crowded. The food that I had for lunch was pretty good. A big improvement from our last RCI cruise two years ago is the hand-washing station at the entrance that you are forced to go through. What a great idea. Hundreds of people touching the same serving tongs is a breeding ground for germs but the new hand-washing station alleviates this somewhat. Harmony has so many good restaurant choices which is why we have been avoiding the Windjammer.

We enjoyed the Harmony WJ in April. We ate most meals there. You can not beat the Mongolian Stir Fry station in the back! While Windjammers vary from ship to ship we love sitting outside on the smaller ships.

  5. Before going on Harmony of the Seas we purchased the BOGO Specialty Plan. On the first night we ate at Jamie's. the meal was wonderful and our waiter was great. As usual they suggest dishes to try. We ordered what we wanted and he ended up bringing us an extra entree, the one he had suggested. I thought this was very nice of him and it gave us a chance to try something different, At the end of the meal he took our Seapass card, left and came back with no slip to sign. He gave us back our card and I asked if there was a slip so that I could do something for him. He said no you are on the plan. The next night in Chops it went as expected. At the end of the meal they ran our card and came back with the slip as usual. We tipped them extra as the service was great.

Thinking about it I wish I had gone back or done something after the fact because we were very pleased with Jamies and our first waiter. This just seemed very strange. The cruise was last month and all charges to our Seapass were correct so there was nothing unusual about that.

  6. We love the WJ that have outdoor seating! It seems when you look at the menus for the MDR there is always a variation in the WJ of whats being offered. Many times the carving stations have a nice quality offering. I will say the fake scrambled eggs have been bad but on the ships that have the small made to order stations or the fried egg stations in the back have more than made up for it. Besides thats what ketchup is for!

  7. We have a large group going in June on Allure. Had purchased excursions back in November when they were on sale. Todays pricing on most of these have gone down again. During the canceling and rebooking time one of our group cancelled their excursions and by the time they added the new price the excursion would now not book them because it was telling him they didnt have enough tickets for all the adults in the group. After waiting a few minutes and logging out and back in tickets became available.

Do you think this was just a glitch? Has anyone been shutout after cancelling the original purchase?

  8. Please share your opinions of these 2 islands. We would like to relax, have a few drinks and maybe a bite to eat. We LOVE clear water and white sand.

Also, can Starfish be booked by private vendor or is it only available via Carnival shore excursions?

We did Starfish last November. One side of the island is roped off creating a swimming area where you can find starfish. The sand is white and the water clear. There are lounge chairs that can be moved under the trees for shade. There is a bar and a place to grab lunch under a covered area with picnic tables. Everything was very clean. You could walk way out in the water. There were a few fish up close. Some folks snorkeled but no one came out really glowing about what they had seen.

Near the food area there is a place you can go to handle the starfish. There are also hammocks all over the place. It wasn't too crowded when we were there. We tendered to and from the boat. It was a smooth ride with dolphins playing in the wake.

  9. We have never had an aft cabin and looking at the Jewel heading to the Southern Caribbean. I have googled pictures etc but Im looking for the experts.

Is it better to get one of the corner extended balconies or are the middle cabin balconies better because they are deeper? We are looking at a D1.

I don't think 9256 is available but 8168 and 7172 are for corners. Also the deck plans for 2018 doesn't show these rooms as having the extended balcony but all current pictures look like they do.

We traditionally book hump balcony cabins.

    Thanks everyone!

  10. Looks like T29 this weekend - not sure if that is used all the time.

Same one we got off in last Saturday. I would keep an eye on it. This past weekend there were lots of delays but it could have been because of the move of the ship. We were about 1 1/2 late getting off the ship. Im not sure what time they let the walk offs go. Lines for customs were long and traffic was tough getting into the drop off pick up area. I saw a few people trying to change flights as we waited to get off.

  11. Sorry, just got back from a cruise and got this message. :D

You didn't mention how long you will be in port, but either way, Blue Kay is only about a 7 minute ride from the port, so even if you only went for a few hours, I would still say it's worth it. I mean personally I would do it if it was me. :) Blue Kay definitely wasn't crowded when we were there and from others posting, they haven't reported a crowd either. I think since it's on the very end of the beach, most don't wander off into that area. Plus the beach itself is huge (unlike the other little sections along the malecon), so plenty of room to spread out. :)

We are in port until 7:00 PM so plenty of time. Thank you! We are adding this as our place to go to!

  12. The $5 charge must be something new...but I can totally understand it. Honestly, it's probably a good thing since they don't charge an entrance fee and for $5 to use that place is...well, an awesome deal. Plus you get a drink with that so... My take on it: I went there when the new ownership took over and most people on here had never heard of the place (they weren't even advertising yet and it was next to impossible to even find anything on the web for them at the time). After doing my review, with all the pictures, people on here started going there. Well...I do remember several people coming back saying they spent the day there BUT walked down the Malecon and had a wonderful lunch at _______ (fill in the blank). Honestly, I think that's kinda crappy. That means that the people at Blue Kay are losing out on money because they allowed you to come use their facilities, beautiful beach, and chairs/umbrellas for free and in return, you go somewhere else to spend your money. After I read a few of these on here, I knew it wouldn't be long before they would charge an entrance fee.

Just my thoughts, this place is beautiful and well worth going...even for $5 LOL

If you buy a package, it includes extras: kayaks, snorkeling equipment, and bikes to ride up and down the malecon. So that's where the package comes in at. Plus they have the alcohol package too I believe.

There's a button at the top of the site that allows you to switch from Mexican to English, which last time I was on there gave you US $ instead of Pesos. I'm not sure if it still does.

When we were ready to go, we simply told our waiter and he went up and called a cab for us. No need to go looking for one. :)

Heading to Costa Maya in November but dont get into port until 12:30 PM. Will that be too late to head over? Are the beaches crowded? We have never gotten into a port that late before. Thank you for all your reviews they have been very helpful!

  13. Probably asked and answered but I just don't get why RC doesn't sell more logo gear both online and on the ship. It wouldn't hurt the t-shirt sales on the last day. It would also help us bigger folks who don't quite fit into an XL. With such a loyal following there are so many people who would stuff their closet with RC gear. Having just got off the Brilliance it was amazing how little they actually had. I will say the crazy t-shirt sale selection was much better than I have seen in the past.
