Loving this review! We did this same itinerary as our 1st cruise over NYE 2012-2013. Loved the Allure!!

Best wishes for a good recovery for your dad. We are accompanying my parents on their 1st trip ever next July(Alaskan cruise for their 50th) I will be digging deeper into the insurance we booked. Mom has health issues so I wanna double check all of that now...

We are all flying within Canada, not many options for carriers, yes we are out of "Canada place". However, I think its safer to just book the later flight no need to potentially end a great trip on a negative note...Tks for the replies... :)

We are delighted to be accompanying my parents on their 50th anniversary cruise to Alaska next July.

We are trying to look at airfares and we are wondering how soon we could be off the ship and how far away is the Vancouver airport from the port.

Would an 11am flight be too early??

Appreciate any feedback. We've never been out West...So excited.

A family Alaskan cruise is on the Agenda for next July. It will be for my parents 50th anniversary. They've never taken a trip anywhere...so dream trip of a lifetime for them! We've convinced them to book into a Celebrity Suite & we will be in an interior across the hall.

Has anyone taken an active 11yr old on the Infinity? Her only other crude was aboard the Allure...

We've reserved an over the water cabana @ Nellies beach for our upcoming cruise on the Allure over New Years, so we will have access to Barefoot beach with it?

I know it says "upgraded buffet" but that's it...

233 til our very 1st aboard Allure for New Years...

Ok, so we land in FLL @ 2pm the day before (Dec 29, 2012). Would love to stay on the beach, since the kids have never seen the ocean/beach. However the husbands are afraid of paying an arm and a leg...:rolleyes:

Are we better off, staying in town and cabbing it to the beach for a few hours? Can we even use the beach at that time of year?:eek:

Our only "must" is that we need a room with 2 queen beds, the rest of our party are a very tall family.

Any hotel ideas/comments would be greatly appreciated....
