Just booked our cruise and we were 'upgraded' to a DW Balcony on Emerald deck, right above the Wheelhouse bar. Now after looking at the deck plans, I am concerned about noise, especially at night.
Has anyone had a cabin right under the wheelhouse on either Regal/Royal, should I be worried?

Southern is the best

Sunshine. Sky is very small in comparison. Not to mention the NCL wave of NCL nickel and diming that has come along in the last few months.
How far is the drive to PC since the drive to Miami at 4 hours seems too long?
Thank you all for the replies.
We are in Tampa so PC is only 1.30 hrs away. Miami is a dreadful 4 hr drive and it is really an unpleasant drive for us.
We are leaning towards the Sunshine now. Thank you All for helping!!

We are planning a quick getaway in october. Since we just came back from a long vacation, we can only cruise 3-5 days. I have narrowed it down to NCL sky and Carnival Sunshine. Ports of call are the same except each cruise ship goes to their private islands. Basically the difference is Half moon cay, which we love, vs Stirrup cay, which we have never been to. Also the Sunshine leaves from PC vs Ncl Sky departs from Miami, which we don't like due to it's 4hrs away. Price-wise NCL is $100 cheaper
So basically, which one would you take? Ship wise.... i mean
Than you!!

I am considering The breeze for next year. My advice is..... watch many youtube videos, that will give you a general idea where things are located, etc. Gambee has a nice Breeze review with tons of advice, videos, pictures, etc. Just google him as "Cruise with gambee".

Prettiest ships are definitely Royal, Princess and MSC cruises look sleek, modern and beautiful, very inviting.
Carnival, however has the ugliest ships inside and out. The main atrium on all carnival ships are dark and none of them remind me of being in the caribbean, they just remind me of a vegas casino all over.

Does anyone know when the new caribbean itineraries will be released?
-
Really dissapointing ports of call. I was looking foward to more variety. I guess we will take another all inclusive vacation or a different cruise line. I cannot repeat those ports anymore !!!
-
Very interested to know if they will be the same old, same old routes or if Harmony will introduce some variety in the caribbean market.
-
Would somebody please post caribbean itineraries for Harmony once they are released? Im at work and rccl new site is not working one any of our PCs .

I need your opinions regarding Carnival Breeze, especially after sailing exceptional ships like Oasis, Allure and Regal Princess.
My last CC was in 2009 and I thought no more carnival after that. Now the breeze has a beautiful itinerary, perfect dates, and seems to be the best of carnival. So, would you recommend it as a said, especially after all those cruises? Or would I be dissapointed? I am afraid of the ship feeling crowded, too many kids, etc. please no flaming, just your honest opinions .

If Tampa ends up being unable to compete from the failure of future proofing their operation and preventing the current issues encountered from the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, that is nobody's fault but the Port of Tampa. Eventually Carnival will have to sell or scrap their current Fantasy class vessels as they won't be modern or competitive when compared to other ships. Royal Caribbean saw this coming and had already sold their three Soverign class ships to prevent saturating their market even further and to keep their fleet more in line with the image they want to be recognized by. If down the line Carnival wishes to associate itself with ships you would expect to see on the Bahamas Celebration, that is Carnival's choice.
WEll SAID!!!!!!

Due to the same repetitive itineraries Royal keeps offering, I was forced to switch to Princess and Disney next year. Princess offers two different 10 days caribbean routes that Royal cannot match. Princess is also offering different dates and ships.
Even though Royal is our favorite cruise line, I am tired of same old eastern/western routes and we are refusing to do them again.

You can try, but they usually have a sign out at Guest Services saying "No upgrades available". I'd call C&A and see if they will offer you a reduced rate upgrade.
Bob and Molly, I tried calling this am. The C & A lady told me since I had so much obc, special rates and other restrictions under my booking, it would be really complicated and also too late to calculate the price difference between my current room and a balcony. She said she would be afraid to touch my booking since we are so close to sailing. I told her not to worry. Therefore I wanted to find out if I could do it at the pier or onboard.

Sailing for first time in a promanade cabin. I see a few balconies still left for my cruise. In case I don't like the promenade cabin, can I upgrade onboard ? Or is it too late?

My partners 30 s Bday will be next May 14. We originally wanted to book the Dream leaving exactly on May 14. However, after seeing the price, she concluded it was a bit much for a 4 day cruise.
I kept researching, and saw the Dream was also leaving May 11, and being pretty comfortable with the price, I booked it. it is however a 3 day instead of 4. Now the part that's really bothering me, is that the cruise comes back exactly the day of her Bday.
She has not idea this cruise is booked.
I told a friend and they said "too bad she will be back the day of her bday". I thought about it and now I am questioning if paying $500 for and extra day and leaving exactly the day of her bday would be worth it.
What would you do? Really need help

No doubt... Enchantment of the seas. I would not sail those old carnival ships even if they were $99 for a florida resident.

We took Spirit once, and it was the most uncomfortable plane ride ever. Seats are way too close, small plane. Like others say, there were delays too, so I would fly a day earlier, especially with Spirit .

Wow, big price difference, however, take into consideration all things Allure provides that Regal doesn't. Ex, ice skating, rock climbing, zip lining, etc.
Do you enjoy any of those?
Regal is brand new, provides a more laid back type of experience.
You cannot go wrong either way. Good luck

You did just fine!!:) When you call give them both reservation numbers and just tell them that you want to put the room from reservation # 2 on the first reservation and then cancel the 2nd one
Thank you Molly, you always so helpful !

dont understand why you booked it in someone else's name
Since this is something that has never happened to me, I did not know if putting it under my name would compromise my reservation. It is called inexperience, that's all. Next time, it will be under my name, don't worry.

Whewwwww.... Thank you guys, you are awesome. And yes, I will have my partner next to me !!!

I am working at the hospital until late afternoon. I am booked on the Explorer, L cat. I noticed this am that a better cabin, same cat is available. Since I don't want to loose it, I placed a 24hr courtesy hold under my sailing partners name. My plan is to call RCCL as soon as I get home and switch cabins.
Is this legal? Can I just hold this cabin even if we are already booked? I sure don't want to loose this cabin since my sailing is almost full. Please help me!!!

Royal/Regal Wheelhouse noise?
in Princess Cruises

Makes me feel much better. We had a cabin right above the piano bar (on our first cruise ) and it was the worst cabin we've ever had.... so noisy at night. Seems like the singer was inside our cabin with his piano and microphone....
