I think it depends on the ship. On the Equinox, the balcony doors lock open so no bungee cord is needed. When one is flying and there are fines for heavier suitcases, less is better!

Personally I feel like that packing list goes a bit overboard. Based on that list, I packed night lights for the bathroom, and they weren't needed as there already was a night light in that room! But I did use the ziplock bags I brought as well as a highlighter for marking lines on the Daily. Also bring cash in small bills for tipping and to use in port.
