  1. We started cruising HAL when I was 39, in 2009,  with my parents and grandparents. I am 22 points away from 4* with 2 week long cruises booked. Maybe if we spend enough, I can make it to 4 * by the end of 2024.  I'm looking forward to the free laundry! We've also cruised NCL, Celebrity and Princess      ( Elite on Princess). .

  2. Quick question regarding the 3 day prior test requirement for HAL in Europe. If a cruise is scheduled for the 16th, are we able to test on the 13th? Or does the actual cruise day count as a day, meaning we would have to test on the 14th at the earliest? I’m currently second guessing when we tested and trying to figure out if we need retest here in Venice. Thank you.

  3. I'm very sorry for your loss. Here is our experience. Our family was scheduled to go on a holiday cruise- parents- the 4 siblings/step-siblings and spouses, 9 grandchildren. 2-3  weeks prior to the cruise, my step- dad fell, hit his head and later passed of his injury. We opted to go on the cruise, as he would have wanted us all to go. My parents had purchased HAL insurance on the cruise. With the help of our TA, my mom was able to get my step fathers portion of the cruise refunded.

  4. According to my son, who made use of the deck tub in the Zuiderdam Pinnacle Suite, it is a whirlpool rather than an actual hot tub.

We had various snacks/appetizers ordered to my mom's Pinnacle suite when we were cruising thru the Panama Canal. It was a lovely way to enjoy the canal.

  5. We cruised the Baltics on another line in the summer 2019. I highly recommend this cruise. We were grateful that we had two full days in St.Petersburg as there was so much to see. We used a private tour in St. Petersburg. We had a balcony, but really only spent time on the balcony sailing into Stockholm. We will most certainly do this itinerary again some day. This summer we are scheduled for a cruise that includes some Greek ports.

  6. I got this same offer/ itineraries for an inside $300 casino cash. Sadly, no of these dates work. We were able to book a different offer for a greatly reduced Neptune Suite for 12 days July 2022 in the Mediterranean. Hopefully , all is well by then and we can make up for a June 2020 Princess Cruise that never happened.

  7. Hello from Southern California.  We are currently "safer at home". All non-essential businesses are closed. Our city closed all of the parks as of today. My husband's employer supports the banking industry so he is considered an essential worker.  Our oldest son works in a grocery store so he too is still working.  I am a teacher and have been home since school shut down on the 13th of March. My district is set to begin distance learning on April 1st. We are being told that we will return to work on April 17th.......pretty sure that won't be happening. Our own school age children begin distance learning this week. Our exchange student from 5 years ago was here on spring break from Penn State when everything started changing. She's been with us since the 6th and will stay with us until she can get a flight home to Taiwan. She was scheduled to fly home tomorrow with her sister who is currently on exchange in Texas, but that flight has been cancelled. They are trying for Friday.

We have done ok as far as groceries and TP. I waited in line at Target for about 30 minutes prior to opening on Sunday and was able to get TP,  paper towels and Clorox wipes. We also found TP  and eggs at Costco on the same day. My son's store, Sprouts, gets fresh produce most days.  The only thing that has been difficult to find is fresh chicken. All stores are limiting hard to find items to 1 per person. I've been buying for our family of 6 + our exchange student, as well as my mom.

The kids( two 21 year olds and a 13 year old) have done a few 1000+ piece puzzles, taken up sewing head bands and hair scrunchies and playing Spikeball in the front yard. Our 17 year old has played more Fortnite than I'd like, but he's safe in the house. The 23 year old has been working 40+ hours keeping produce stocked.  All of the kids have a rotating schedule of daily chores. I've taken to doing long put of jobs like cleaning the junk drawers and purging some clothes.

We just cancelled our Spring Break trip to Cabo and anticipate having to cancel a trip to Aruba at the beginning of June. We are scheduled to go on  the July 1st sailing of the Enchanted to celebrate a 50th birthday, 25th wedding anniversary, a college, high school and 8th grade graduation. Sadly, I have a feeling that will also be a no-go.

    Please be safe!
