Hi, we had cabin 7043 last year and had no complaints about the terrace balcony. We were lucky in the fact that this cabin has a separate bedroom which obviously made the cabin a lot more spacious.
We used the balcony a lot, you could talk to anybody and everybody the choice is yours. There are plenty of people who would hate this set up but I have to say we didn't.
Whatever cabin you are allocated just go with it and enjoy your cruise.

Has anyone been in these cabins. They are a different shape to the others and I am curious as to how the layout works and whether they are noisy with the marquee bar alongside and the sun deck above.
Hi we had 8017 a couple of years ago. The cabin itself was ok but if I remember correctly it did lack hanging space for your clothes.
I will have a look to see if I can find any photo's and if I do I will try to download them.

Hi Berkshire Boy
Yes they have extended the refit, there must be a lot more to do than they had originally planned.
From what the crew were telling us it does sound like it will be a total change in some areas, for e.g.. the Lido Bar, which I have never felt comfortable sitting in.
I hope they don't mess around with your scheduled cruises, as it would be a great disappointment, so fingers crossed.

We have just returned from a 26 night cruise on the Black Watch, which I have to say, we thoroughly enjoyed.
Whilst on board we were told by many of the staff that the Black Watch will be going into dry dock on the 19th November for a total refit.
This is great news as she does look very worn and tired apart from the fire of last month.
We are booked on her again for next year so I will look forward to seeing what they have done.

I have usually packed by now all ready to go but I have delayed the task to see if the Black Watch was going to sail.
Anyway, saw the news and thought I had better pull my finger out and get on with it today, I am nearly done, see you all onboard on Sunday.

Oh, my! I hope so, too. Such a fabulous itinerary that I am sure you've been looking forward to. I know I would have been!
Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Hi RuthC
I have just looked on Marine Traffic this morning and it states the Black Watch is heading for the UK tomorrow so things are looking good.
I will start packing and hope for the best.
Thank you for your kind thoughts.

Thank you everyone.
The Black Watch is docked in Spain at the moment undergoing repairs due to severe damage caused by fire in the engine room.
Her last cruise was cancelled, it should have sailed 8th July.
We now have our fingers crossed that she will be repaired and back to Tilbury, London for our sailaway this coming Sunday.

The 8th July cruise on the Black Watch has been cancelled.
I have just spoken to my TA and he said they are inundated with calls to rebook other cruises.

We went to Canada for the first time last July sailing on the Queen Mary and received such a warm welcome.
You are such warm and friendly people and we would love to return one day.
Happy Canada Day to you all.

Thank you for the link, we will be sailing through the canal for the first time next April and are really looking forward to it.

Since yesterday, the CAD is down versus the USD and EUR, but up versus the GBP. So, compared to earlier this week, a land holiday in England would be a better bet financially than a Med cruise.
...........and you would be more than welcome.

This is a reply I have just received from Larry's Limos which may be helpful.
Thank you for your inquiry. A Chrysler 300/Lincoln Sedan will be 70.00 plus 20% gratuity for the driver and 10.00 for parking/toll so the driver can greet you at baggage claim with sign. Return service will be 70.00 plus the gratuity. An SUV (Chevy Suburban) or Stretch Limousine, first available, will be 30.00 more each way. A 6 Passenger Cadillac Escalade SUV will be an additional 60.00 more each way. A Premium Lincoln MKT Sedan will be an additional 30.00 more each way. For any further information or to place a reservation please contact us at 1-800-611-6631, +(1)954-473-6631 or visit our website at http://www.larryslimo.com Thanks again.
I will be booking but waiting for the British Pound to settle down against the US Dollar. The price seems very reasonable to me. Of course I won't be needing a "return"!
That sounds as good as the other fares I have found so I will check their website. Thank you.

Sorry it's the will of the people, they had enough of following the garbage in Brussels... France, Finland to follow, hip, hip, hooray
I totally agree with what you say.
I am one of those that voted OUT and do not regret my decision.
Also, I'm afraid there is more to this than just having the convenience of using a single currency when coming to Europe for a holiday.

I have found a company called Super Shuttle and their basic price is $69 for the trip and of course the tip on top of that price.
You can go higher in price for a better vehicle.
I will also check out the other suggestions.
Thank you everyone for your help.

You are flying into MIA and going to FLL to stay? A cab will be very expensive. You have lots of time to research shuttles that can be very reasonable. But you will love the Hyatt Place. I've not stayed at the FLL one but I've stayed at several around the USA and they are very nice.
I will research the shuttles and see what there is available, thank you.

I have now booked the Hyatt Place Hotel for the 2 nights.
I think we will get a cab from the airport to the hotel, it will be the easiest option, I'm sure.

Thank you both for your replies, I will follow up on your advice.

We are sailing on the N Amsterdam next April.
Due to flight times and airlines we are flying in 2 days before the cruise but HAL can only offer us 1 night at their hotel of choice.
My question is if we transfer to FLL the day we arrive in Miami can anyone advise us on the best transport and any idea on what that will cost please.
Also any reasonably priced hotels for 2 nights in FLL.

That was such a nice thing to do Richard.
