  1. Hi,

I am wondering about the Family Harbour Lounge. This foto http://www.zydecocruiser.net/CarnivalVistaInaug/01Trieste/5-1-2016/DSC_6702_Zyde.jpg is showing a coffee automat with Cappuccino, Espresso etc.

So does this mean, these coffee specialities are available for free in the lounge? Or does this cost extra?

We will be on May 24th in a family harbour cabin, so I am curious about it!

Maybe someone, who is on the Inaugural cruise can answer the question!

    thanx

    Conny

  2. Embarkation is from 12 noon to 4pm. After that, if you're not in the building, there is a good chance you're not going to board. I'm planning on getting there no later than 2:30pm as we have a morning tour of Athens

Each company tells when the embarkation is, but we had this a lot of times, that we came later than this and had no problems to get on board, there often were dozens of other people also coming later! (not on Carnival, but MSC, NCL, RCCL etc.)

  3. Too late to edit the above : I've had a reaction the last couple of times I've had a Mudslide.... on Rhapsody and Legend or Oasis. When I spoke with a senior chef on board Rhapsody he said the ice-cream so maybe they weren't using the IO product. Certainly I've been warned off the ice cream on board in the past. Could also be whatever is in the chocolate syrup.

Interested to see from the website that their Bloody Mary mix isn't GF

On which website do I see that it isn't gluten free?

I am gluten intolerant and have booked the replenished package and will be on the Splendour of the seas in 2 weeks.

So I would like to know on which website I can see the ingredients of the drinks?

I've been on RCCL in 2012 and never had any reactions of the ice cream on board. So have they changed the ingredients?

  4. In general the coffee shops are not part of NCL anymore and are more of a franchise arrangement. Similar to Ocean Blu I guess. Bottled water has always been an issue with NCL and they don't offer much of a "package" for water at any time. For anyone that says they had trouble getting a drink that was mixed with regular coffee, I think your not trying hard enough. Most/all the bars have a pot of coffee brewing somewhere nearby. If the drink takes regular coffee to make it, i.e. Baileys and coffee, Irish Coffee etc. it is included in the package. If they refuse you, call the Beverage Manager or the Hotel Director and it will be fixed.

Last week on the Jade we asked at several bars, but no way, it seems that they have changed it now, all of the drinks, which have coffee and a liqueur are not included in the UPB.

One bartender explained us very detailed which drinks are included and which not. And even when I said that it is regular coffee, so the Irish coffee etc. should be included, but it doesn't matter. He said that all coffees with a liqueur are not included!

So maybe there really is a change now in the UPB!

  5. Not according to this post by marciemi

Just off the Epic and we found that while nearly everything was included, coffee drinks were not. Not just the plain espresso but even the alcohol ones. We asked at two bars and were told that you had to pay for things like Irish Coffee, Spanish Coffee, etc. with the UBP. I didn't ask about the Martini but the whole page they had of coffee drinks (that were all like $8-10, not the $3-5 non-alcoholic ones) were not included. I'm not a huge coffee fan so didn't worry about it but just wanted to give a heads up on my experience.

That is bad. All the time I read that Irish coffee is included in the UPB, there are hundreds of comments here. So this must be new that it is not included anymore :-(

  6. We booked on Wednesday for our cruise sailing next Sunday (18th)!

Had the same issue and out TA got the amenities confirmation for us, so not at all worried about it...and yes, I could only see the dining and OBC on the site, too.

I will make sure we print the confirmation and take it with us just in case.

but WHERE is this shown? I don't know where to look for it! It is not visible at my vacation summary!

  7. I know the menus have changed since we cruised 2 months ago, but I am guessing the always avail are pretty much the same: Salmon, 8 oz steak, lamb and chicken breast. The salads were green or cesar and they had a couple of very good soups. I have heard, the wonderful egg rolls are no longer on the menu. I think salmon tar tar is. I didn't particularly care for it. Once was enough. You can always order a baked potato though it isn't on the menu and you can ask for certain veggies. Not always is every veggie available, but usually broccoli, green beans and asparagus are.

I thought that the menus will change during the summer and have not yet changed on every ship??

We will be on the spirit the next week and I really hope that they still have the old menu, because I liked it very much!

  8. Yes, it contains:

    New York Steak

Cesar salad (at lunch it has shrimps, at dinner it is with crutons).

summer rolls at lunch, spring rolls at dinner

    onion soup

    chicken breast

    salmon filet

mushroom omelette with french fries at lunch

and some other things, which I don't remember right now.

  9. I wonder if it depends on the ship? On the Dawn in December, I received invitations to the normal Latitudes party and the silver party that had the wine and cheese set up. Both were in the Spinnaker lounge. Had a wonderful time at both and love that NCL still does this. :) Between these, the CAS gathering, the suite guest gathering, and comped drinks in the casino, my bar bill was practically non-existant. Thanks, NCL! :D

    What is "CAS gathering"???

We had an extra invitation for cheese&wine gathering, this really was nice!

  10. 3 months ago on the Jade we were only invited for the silver latitudes party, but not for the standard. Was this a mistake, that we didn't get an invitation for the standard? Or is this normal now?

We will be on the Spirit in 2 weeks and so I wonder, if we also only get an invitation for the silver one and not for the standard!?

  11. ...and yet currently nearing the end of my third week in an all inclusive hotel, and suffering from the symptoms, I still wonder if the cost of Allegrissimo is better spent on good wine, which is not available on Allegrissimo, instead.

I can easily make the case 'as well as' but if one has to make the choice, what would one choose?

The included red wine in my hotel is foul. Do I really want to live off cocktails for the duration of the cruise?

Suggestions please. The debate should continue....

    Tim.

We really enjoyed the wine in the Allegrissimo, especially the Rosé, this really was very good!

So we would never spent the costs for wine instead of taking the Allegrissimo.

  12. In the US, the term "hot pot" usually refers to a small carafe with a heating element and a modest (typically 1-2 cup) water capacity. They typically are used to heat water to a temperature suitable for instant coffee, tea, instant soup, ramen noodles, etc.

ok, thanx, then it seems to be something like this: https://www.google.com/search?q=%22hot+pot%22+wasserkocher&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=Q42jUsfPFMPVtAaGyoGwDg&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=1280&bih=615#q=+wasserkocher&tbm=isch
