  1. We will be sailing the Regal Princess on December 18 with Commodore Giuseppe Romano. He married us on the Caribbean Princess July 27, 2006. I hope there is way to meet with him?

We had the pleasure of crossing the Atlantic several years ago on the Emerald Princess with the Commodore. He was one of the most accessible Captains we have ever had. Meet him many times, returning to the ship, walking the corridors, and in numerous venues. Am sure you will have no problem meeting him again.

We also look forward to to seeing him again on the Dec. 18th sailing of the Regal.

  2. On a recent Princess cruise they offered a Coffee Drink package that had both regular and non-alcohol specialty coffees for a flat daily rate.

I have seen nothing like this with Celebrity beverage packages. Neither of us drink sodas and only very limited amounts of wine and alcohol. Coffee and coffee drinks on the other hand are something we like.

So, is there such a thing as a coffee only beverage deal on Celebrity or will we just have to pay as we go?

  3. Have made reservations for Select dining on our upcoming cruise. We indicated we would like a shared table in most cases.

Is there a way to indicate that we would like a table of no more than six persons? Is this something we can do in advance or do we need to do it with the maitre d on the first evening?

We have found on past cruises that larger groups 8 or 10 make for difficult conversation.

  4. Will be sailing on Reflection in April for the TA to Rome. First time on a S class ship.

Is there a lounge that has a three or four person combo playing easy listening and dance music generally after 8PM?

Have found this on recent Princess and HAL cruises and on a Celebrity Millennium sailing a few years ago. Something we always enjoy in the evening.

  5. I've always had balcony cabins but I realized on my last cruise (and it was a trans-atlantic!) that we rarely used our balcony. Instead, on Silhouette there were so many gorgeous outdoor spots we were really only in the cabin to sleep and shower. I had no plans to stop booking balconies....but an itinerary that I really wanted to do just never dropped the balcony prices to what I wanted to pay. Phooey. So I bit the bullet and we're going to do our first inside!

I'm actually looking forward to the new experience and of course I'm thrilled I'll be able to sail the Reflection's 16 night east bound TA!

Please refrain from telling me how miserable I'm going to be. I'm sure I'll be happy as a clam....and in the event I'm not I have a great hotel booked at the end of the cruise in Roma!

You will be very happy. Have done several TA's and rarely if ever used balcony on them. We will be on the same Relection crossing, if it is the 4/26 from Miami,as you and only have a balcony because at the time we booked it was essentially the same as the inside cabin.

On previous TA met several folks who had inside and they were completely pleased with cabin and price.

BTW be sure to go to the roll call for this sailing. See you on board

  6. That's a bit early because you run the very real risk of getting your bags mixed up with those of the disembarking passengers. It's totally insane at the terminal area until about 10 am, so maybe closer to that time would be better. Plus, the porters are all busy hauling the bags of the disembarking passengers, so there probably won't be anyone to accept your bags that early.

Wow! thanks for a quick and logical answer. We could probably drop off at 10:30 or 11 without issue on our part. Would that make sense? Any problems getting into the Port I should be aware of?

Thanks to all CC members for all of your helpful info.

  7. We will be sailing on the Reflection on April 26th. for a TA crossing.

At present we expect to arrive by rental car about 9 AM at the Port of Miami. Been a while since we sailed from this port.

Can we enter the Port of Miami early, drop our luggage, and then go to the car rental agency to return the car? The car rental agency is close but outside of the Port itself.

I would prefer this to going directly to the agency and then hauling our luggage back to the Port by cab.

Hope this makes sense and any comments sincerely appreciated.

    Allan.

We used them several years ago for Apts in both Madrid and Barcelona. Both places were excellent and centrally located and they offer a very wide variety. More importantly they were very professional and true to their word.

In Barcelona we were right near the "Gothic" quarter, a block or two from La Rambala and other central sites. Hop on Bus is great.

Barcelona is a great town, enjoy

  9. We are doing the TA on the Reflection in April of 2014. In 2012 we did a TA on the Emerald Princess. One thing that we enjoyed aboard the Emerald was the International Cafe. This was an area in the main Piazza that had small salads, sandwiches, pastries, available all day. Does anything like this exist on the Reflection?
