Finally figured out what PVP is. I also cruise on Princess which is another Carnival brand, but PVP there stands for Princess Vacation Protection, basically an insurance policy. They should at least unify the abbreviations to remove the confusion.

Did you want a play by play? I doubt you would ever hear the details, due to privacy concerns, unless released by an investigating agency. Or in a court.
By the way, after 35 years in emergency services, I can think of many situations where 4 (or more) people die in close timing. But where did it say the deaths were close in proximity, time wise?
No, I'm not interested in play-by-play. If I offended anyone, please accept my apology. My thinking was that if they made the public aware that people passed away earlier, they might have been able to put more PR pressure on the relevant authorities and/or the Panamanian government to grant docking/passage on humanitarian ground. Maybe I am wrong and the PR pressure wouldn't have worked any better than the behind the scene work.

Sorry if this was discussed earlier in the thread. I saw news reports came out yesterday that 4 passengers died on the ship, but nothing on whether they died on the same day or they only made it public after they had 4 deaths. I can't think of a scenario that 4 people would die roughly at the same time.

I do have my home number listed so I filed the claim. Although they say "up to $900", the real number is more like $300 or even less. Nevertheless, it makes a nice "beverage package" for a cruise.

I doubt we will ever see the ship. Others have made similar proposals and never carried through. Just a few years ago, Nic Wilson and Bruce Moffat, also Australians, have made the same plan but then quietly disappeared from the scene.
It could be a interesting ship of similar stature as the QE2 or QM2. Of course, it would be modern and it won't have the steerage cabins for poor immigrants, nor the coal burning furnace for steam engines.

I also bought a few hundred more shares when it was around $10, but worried about CCLs ability to stay afloat. The latest news gave me some assurance. I won't make much in the near future but I'm in for long term.
