  1. looking to do a Segway experience in Noumea in January. Can anyone tell me is it better to go with cruise line or book privately I usually book my tours privately but not sure how far from Terminal we would have to go and how long it will take. Any recommendations would be greatly accepted.

  2. Hi Maggie,

Fellow Aussie here & I understood you perfectly. :)

I have found Radiance has packets of chips in the Park café but never found any on Voyager. Sometimes they do have bowls of chips but doesn't seem to be consistent.

I have found also the snacks available in the onboard shop vary greatly from ship to ship & found all the salted nuts if US brands often had sugar added,

Most of the time though you can buy chocolate bars at the shop, I recall Toblerone, Snickers, Mars Bars, Kit Kats etc on recent cruises.

I have found you can get a fruit & nut mix at some bars they serve in glass containers.

However if you have your favourites that you can't live without best to take them with you. :)

Australian based cruises have a different variety of snacks I have found compared to the US based cruises I have done.

Thanks again for lots of info & lots of chuckles. Yes you Aussie cruisers know exactly what I mean however our next cruise is from Southampton & we have six days at sea before our first port of Boston so maybe you can understand my questioning. I have had mixed nuts given to us in Schooner bars a few times but chips & chocolates are great comfort foods, whether I should or shouldn't eat them is beside the point. Nevertheless less I will pack my own stash.

  3. We also were on the voyager last year ,and fancied some chips or lollies 😞None to be found ,especially when having a drink in the afternoon on deck as we left a port .

It's good to know someone understands my original post. To us Aussies, chips are potato crisps to the rest of the world. Not the French fries served hot at a Windjammer. I think I left out my punctuation marks so when I referred to choc chips I actually meant bars of chocolates & packets of chips or crisps & packets of lollies or sweets for those late afternoon cravings when sitting around sharing a few drinks & conversation with fellow cruisers. It certainly has made for some interesting reading though. Looks like I would be best to make sure I bring plenty of supplies with me.

  4. Having recently been on Voyager of the seas & soon to be travelling on Navigator of the seas I was astounded that I could not find anywhere on board to purchase any lollies Chips magazines or books. Did I miss something or can anyone give an insight as to why? We will have six Sea days on our next cruise & wanted to check if I need to bring my own supplies of chocolate chips etc.

  5. We purchased our Premium Package last night for our 18 night Transpacific from Hawaii to Sydney and saved just under $500AUD, worked out at $57.52AUD per day incl. grats. So Happy!!!!! :)

We are on a TA from Southampton to Miami in November on Navigator & just found the discount on our cruise planner saving us around $280 00 for our 13 day cruise. Anyone know how long this discount is on for?

  6. Ketchikan, Juneau & Skagway are US dollars (all are in the state of Alaska). They can either get USD in Vancouver or at their first US port from an ATM.

Thank you both for your replies.

  7. Can anyone tell me what currency is used in Ketchikan, Juneau & Skagway? Is it Canadian or Us$. My mother & her friend will be spending time in Vancouver before & after cruises B2B but not sure if they will need US$ whilst cruising?

  8. I agree with Isle of Pines but take the local tour to the Natural Aquarium. Turn left when you get off the tenders just before the Beachwear Shop they will offering some local tours. We went with Sam who dropped us off and picked us up about 2 hours later. I think it cost $20 and then $10 to enter. A quick walk through the shallow lagoon and then amazing. I just take a pair of goggles. Enjoy your trip.

Peter.kath Did you take your own snorkel gear or hire from ship or tour?

  10. Cruising to Noumea p, Isle of Pines & Mystery Island in February & my sister wants to go snorkelling. Need a bit of info about best places to snorkel & which island is better. As we are inexperienced at snorkelling not sure if we should book a tour or just go by ourselves. Is it best to take your own snorkelling gear or hire it? Private tour or ships tour? Only want to snorkel at one place??

    Any help appreciated:):)

  11. The ultimate has many things that premium doesn't, but none of them are alcohol. For people who want the coffee and juice it's a good addition. Perhaps you didn't understand the packages before you booked as Evian is not available with any of them. I think it's kind of lame to expect things which are not included!

Can you give me an idea of the cost of drinks onboard RC We are travelling on Voyager of the Seas in Feb & trying to decide on drinks packages or not. Looking at costs of Beer Wine Cocktails & spirits mainly.

  12. Looking at booking on Voyager of the seas in Balcony cabin but was wondering how the beds configure for 4 adults. Is there just the queen bed & sofa in each cabin or are some cabins set up for 4 people.
