  1. Thank you for posting this.

We've been loyal to Royal since 2004 just as casual travelers. Pretty much 1 week, maybe 2 a few years here or there a year. We took some time  off around Covid and finally got back on the horse in Jan of 2023. We realized we missed it...

But as I look at prices now, the are so bonkers compared to what we have paid in the past. I know, I know the past is the past, but I thought I was really missing something like they now includes gratuities or something, but man have the prices jumped.

I can honesty say, for us, the pricing is such a turnoff right now. $2500-$3000k for a one week cruise with maybe 3 stops? Man it's like getting punched in the nads.

Again, thanks for posting as I thought we were missing something but appears this may be the new temporary norm.  Yikes!!! (But great for the balance sheet)

I guess I'll sit on the sidelines and wait for a Unicorn. Here's hoping things come back down eventually.

    Happy cruising to all!

  2. We're D+, but it has been about 5yrs since our last cruise.

We're going on the Oasis, much larger than the Voyager class ships we've sailed.

I'm really trying to wrap my head around the BOGO specialty dinner by "pre" booking it...?

If I'm to understand this correctly, I can reserve Chops online for 1 at whatever price I can book it at through the app/online, etc. Then when we board, go to Chops and ask them to change to 2 guests using the BOGO that should be loaded on to our seapass at that time? They'll most likely then charge us the going rate for 1 on our seapass and then refund or shipboard credit whatever we paid online and we'd see that at some point on our folio???

I don't want to possible miss out with our late boarding time and then getting on board and there being nothing left to possible book for Day 1 and 2. I hope that makes sense.

Just trying to get my sea legs back and understanding all the perks nowadays compared to the "coupon books" we used to get back in the day.

    Any feedback is appreciated.

    Cheers!

  3. Not really an alcohol drinker but will use some of those D+ voucher/tickets to try new things... but I have a couple questions on other drinks and also question on the water bottle package that is delivered to room.

For the 5 free daily drinks, if I use some for bottled water (don't flame me 😁), I think (its been 5+ years since last cruise) Royal has a couple different brands/sizes of water bottles on board. Can you use towards a large bottle of say Evian etc? (Rather than the smaller size?) Also, I'm guessing I can get Red Bulls with the vouchers/tickets too?

Lastly, I have an offer on the app for a water bottle package which would be delivered to the stateroom, it doesn't tell me what brand or size these are. (I haven't clicked on reserve if it's detailed in there as I don't want to order anything yet) Are they actual bottles or cans? Anyone recently ordered this and have details on size of the bottle/can?

We are on the Oasis  (our first time on this size)  if this should make a difference.

Thanks for your input/feedback if you know any of the answers.

  4. Howdy!

Been out of the game for about 4 years now after 12 years of cruising. I vaguely remember a coupon book that would be in your stateroom. Does Royal still do this? If so, what is in it now? (pics?)

I have read up on the daily drink we should receive which sounds like a nice new perk (new to us at least). Can you get the blended drinks with those?

Anyways glad to be back and although it's only (I know) a 7 day cruise, I'm glad we're heading back to cruising.

    Cheers!

  5. We are 1 credit (night) away from D+.

Does RCCL make any exceptions on bumping someone up to the next level? I looked for a 1 night SEA-Vancouver repositioning or something like that to make up the day, but nothing.

Just curious if anyone else has had an experience like this. We would have made D+ on last cruise but had to cancel the first week of a B2B due to a major family moment.

    Thanks

    Shane

  6. WOW! You have been away from Cruise Critic for a year! Welcome back!

    This has been discussed extensively:

    :)

Ya know I had gone back about 7 pages on the board and didn't see anything. =) I even searched 3 free drinks and didn't get a hit.

I was so excited to actually see positive news for a change.

    Thank you all.

  7. Looks like a change for the better finally. It came about a week ago but I'm just getting to email.

YOUR ONBOARD LOUNGE BENEFITS JUST GOT BETTER

We are excited to introduce an expanded Crown & Anchor Society benefit for you during your upcoming cruise! In addition to the nightly receptions at the Diamond Lounge and the Concierge Lounge (for our Diamond Plus and Pinnacle guests), you now have the flexibility to enjoy happy hour at a wide variety of bars onboard.

Your SeaPass Card will be pre-loaded with three complimentary drink vouchers for each night of the sailing, which can be used during nightly lounge hours. Toast your way around the ship, on us!

This expanded benefit will be slowly rolled out across the entire fleet by Fall. Kindly note, drinks vouchers are not valid in the main dining room, the Windjammer Café or in any of our specialty restaurants, and expire daily.*
