  1. Sorry I missed this...

I don't think you need to worry about cancellation. There were some changes to regulations that caused Carnival to pull out of Baltimore. Carnival has worked the issue out, but just too late to keep the Pride, at least for now!

I live in Hanover, so not too far from Lancaster!

We are neighbors as we live in East Berlin. Small world on a big forum

  2. Our DD's were 5 and 9 on this cruise. The memories photo shoot was awesome. We did it on Monday, and only 40 degrees, but we made the best of it. If you can afford them, i would suggest doing it. We spent $300 on 14 8x10's. The top package is $3000. We had talked some time of having family pictures done so when we saw the opportunity to do them on the boat, we went for it.

Camp Carnival was absolutely the best. My daughters showed no interest in Camp Carnival their 2 previous sailings on the Destiny, but they constantly wanted to be in camp this time. We limited them for 2 hours at a time and actually was great for sea days when there was not alot to do, due to cold weather. The pools were also heated and covered, so they were in full use. Again, I'm quite sure our outlook on the cruise would have been better if it would have been warmer, but we knew that going on. The ocean was great and perfect to swim in Nassau and Freeport, so you should have no worries there.

Please be warned that the boat has many pictures all over the place of naked girls, so if you girls are traveling with you, maybe prepare them ahead of time.

Here is a collage we did on the wall of our photo shoot.

  3. We did have a nice cruise, but it was not our favorite. it's our fault. We should have known that we would have 3 wasted days at sea due to cold weather sailing in February. Once we got to FL, the weather was perfect. The sea was much rougher than what we are normally used to going out of Miami. We found ourselves bored and wondering what to get in too, but i'm sure during nice weather, that wouldn't be the case. The service was amazing, food delicious, shows were great. My only thing that i didn't like was how spread out the food was on the lido deck. We were used to ships having the lunch buffet food so close together, and with the Pride, it goes the whole way from the back of the ship to mid ship to get chicken fingers and fries. Again, we had a great time, and I'm sure you will too. Spent the day at Magic Kingdom while in Port Canaveral and worth every cent that we spent!! here are the pictures that i promised :) o and the last 1 is of our "memories" photo shoot that we did. Definately worth the money!!

  4. What a great review. You made me feel like I was back on the boat.

We also had issues like you did in the MDR with waiters, and drinks not being refilled.

I also didn't like the zig zag hallways.

We felt after we got off the ship that we definitely need to take as break from cruising as we had lost the WOW factor as well.

Thanks again for the great review!

  5. Hi! I'm on the Pride cruise after yours. As you can see from my signature, we've cruised out of Baltimore in the winter several times. We've never had a problem with the cabin being too cold. In fact, I find the heat to be cranked up maybe a little too high. It tends to be very drying to the skin and sinuses.:o

Thank you for the quick response!!

  6. We are really looking forward to cruising on the Pride - our first cruise from a home port ..... Going to be nice to pack my suitcases and not worry about where the heck my liquids are ;)

This will be our 1st home port cruise too! Super nice not having to worry about how much luggage we have to check and as you mentioned, what goes into carry on and what gets checked. We usually fly to Miami via BWI, now we'll be getting right on the boat in Baltimore!!!!:)

  7. i saw somewhere on 1 of these boards (no heat on the Chrismtas cruise) recently that the Pride has no individial heat in the cabins. They said you can turn the AC off, but no where does heat come out of the vent. Can anyone verify this for me. Did anyone have trouble with their cabins being cold when leaving or returning to Baltimore? My DH thinks i'm crazy for reading these boards for hours to research, but he just may think differently if in fact this is the case so we can prepare and warmer clothes along.

Thanks for everyones input on this thread. We said the Pride in just 29 days. Getting super excited.
