  1. I enjoyed the service a lot in the past , however not on a February arrival.
My bags had priority tags for a TPA arrival. It meant nothing to the baggage handlers. My bags were the last out on the conveyer belt. It was very frustrating, especially since the flight had been delayed for 12 hours because there was no pilot. At least they arrived!

We are on the Summit right now and experiencing multiple issues. After being turned away from Bimini we are headed to Nassau. The port pilot and captain agreed it was not safe to dock.
We were going very slowly to Nassau because they decided that we would have 2 sea days to Nassau. On Wednesday afternoon we lost electrical power several times. One time lasted over an hour. The ship was just floating. People were stuck in elevators and had to be rescued. Several floors have been without water, air conditioning or internet.
During the night several hallways and staterooms flooded from the ceiling.
This has continued into Thursday but at least we have power and at this point are scheduled to dock in Nassau on Friday.
It appears the issues have not affected propulsion but are affecting many other systems on the ship.
So far the captain has not been good in giving information. Needless to say many people are upset and customer service is not handling it very well.

For myself we have lost water and will deal with it as this is our 3rd yearly cruise on the Summit and we are not going to let this completely ruin our cruise.

I’m so sorry about what you and many others are going through. You have a great attitude and I know you will make the best of it. I’m sure Celebrity will make it up to you in some way.
    who is your captain?

Currently sailing on the Summit 5 day from MIA that left Monday April 1.  We are a family of 11 sailing in 4 separate cabins on deck 7.

I won’t bore you with the minor, but numerous issues encountered Monday and Tuesday, but yesterday there were 2 blackouts for over an hour each time.  The first occurred at around 4:30.  We were in our cabin and lost lights, TV, AC and internet.  The captain made an announcement and told us “don’t worry I am here with you”. ?did he think we assumed he had abandoned ship?

Power was restored in a little less than a hour, but the second blackout happened at 6 PM when we were in the martini bar.  Lots of commotion everywhere and soon they had to stop serving drinks because there was no clean water to wash glasses. If you had a glass and were willing to use the same dirty glass, you could get refills, but nothing that needed a shaker or any utensils in the preparation.  Again, only aux lights, no AC,etc.   However, it was interesting that the registers still worked to swipe cards for refillls.  Power restored around 7 I think.

Suffice it to say that there were a lot of very agitated people making their thoughts known.

Now, this evening sometime before 5 PM on Chic night, there’s a main water line issue so there’s no running water anywhere except decks 2 and 3.

Our cabin steward reported “it’s an environmental issue”.  The front desk has zero information except to say they are aware and working on it. Almost an hour later have yet to hear from the captain. Hopefully he didn’t abandon ship this time…..🙄

This certainly could be the case but I think it's easy to speculate when one is sitting in the comfort of their home with working electricity, running water, and A/C.  As I am in my hot stage of life, loss of A/C for even a few minutes can feel like an eternity.

Okay, thoughts have moved on in the last hour.

How do Concierge rooms stack up for room for 3 adults compared to ‘normal’ veranda rooms.

Still have to run this past my son yet!

The 3 of us had a Sunset Veranda room on Eclipse 6 years ago. From memory we got by, but he is older and had cabins of his own since then and would be hard to go back to a three?

Concierge is more about cabin location and you get afternoon canapés and bottle of champagne. Not worth it in my estimation.

I look forward to seeing you on the cruise in a little more than two weeks.

I had not sent texts using AT&T (my carrier) on Celebrity ships.  I use WhatsApp (which uses WiFi) since I think there is data charge if I use AT&T.  You may want to check with AT&T about that.  In addition, although I do not use FaceBook, I know that it can be sent via WiFi (which the ship is equipped) from your cell phone.

    See you soon.  Safe travel.

If they are, good on them!

I posed the Bermuda question to my TA and, as of today, this is her response re our Summit cruise. Stay tuned

“Bermuda has different rules for visitors depending on how you arrive.

“Here is a link to Bermuda's current cruise ship passenger requirements (as you will see they do not include your ship), which yes, as of today, for the ships listed, require what you stated.

“I know people want answers so they can plan ahead, but unfortunately, this is one of the frustrating things for those people choosing to travel right now - these types of protocols are constantly changing, so cruise lines are waiting until as close to departure as they can to release information, as they do not want to release information, and then have it change, and then, not know if guests saw the change or not. https://www.gov.bm/cruise-travel-authorisation

“Celebrity right now has not released any confirmed protocols for either of your sailings. Any information circulating online or elsewhere is pure speculation. Once they do, if not sent to you directly, it will be forwarded by me to you.”
  7. We are on our first time Azamara cruise in August. The online check in process was similar to RCCL and Celebrity. It was a little tricky at the end trying to figure out how to print the documents and Express Pass, but it was doable. I am now trying to figure out how to get the luggage tags.

  8. The Persian Garden is wonderful. Most people wear bathing suits while laying on the heated stone lounges. You can also where the robe that is provided. There are only about 8-10 lounges, so you may have a little bit of a wait, but you can always use the steam or sauna rooms. Enjoy. It is one of my favoriate relaxation treats on board.
