  1. We've decided to purchase the Cheers package for our upcoming cruise. Are we able to use it the morning that we disembark? I NEED my morning coffee to get me going for the long car ride home! 🤣 And my husband will be thrilled to have that final breakfast mimosa.  LOL!

  2. We are sailing on the Dream August 9th (WAHOOO, almost here!!!) Unfortunately I was walking Friday, stepped on a rock, and twisted my ankle. As of right now I'm in a boot, on crutches, and putting as little weight on it as possible until I can get into an orthopedic doc, which won't happen until Thursday, August 6th

IF I'm still in a boot on crutches (I'm really hoping it's just a bad sprain and they can put it in a small brace), how do I go about requesting a wheelchair transfer? I'm not lazy, but I am slow on crutches, and generally the gangway is kinda steep. Thanks for any help y'all can give! :)

  3. I grew up in Florida, on the white sandy beaches that are similar to those found in the Caribbean. The absolute best sunscreen I have ever used is the No-Ad brand, SPF 50. I am WHITE (my husband often jokes that I am so white I shine and he would never lose me in a dark room ) and I don't burn at all when I use it. For example, we went out on a boat once and my cousin was using it, but got too much on her hands. She was just goofing off and wiped it on the back of my leg. I had used something else. I wore a white handprint for about a week afterwards. It's also cheap! I also use Ocean Potion After Sun Care Lotion and Ocean Potion Aloe with Lidocane, which I refrigerate.

  4. On our last cruise, I always let my kids (they were 6 and 9 at the time) sit at the bar and order their own drinks (Bottomless Bubbles), then add the tip, and sign the paper. It was never a problem, and it made the kids feel a little grown up.

  5. Ok, I'm thinking we are going to do this, rather than an excursion in one of our ports. Stupid question: Is it booked through the excursion desk or guest services...or are these the same desk? We haven't cruised in several years, so I don't remember.

I have bad knees also, but I try not to let them stop me from doing what I really want to do (was told at 19 that I would need total replacements by the time I'm 40. I'm 32 now. If they're gonna replace them, I'm gonna get all the use I can out of them before hand! :D) . I will just make sure I take something that morning before we leave the room... and I may need some liquid medication by the time we get done! :D I can do stairs, I'm just slow, as I generally have to go one leg at a time. And for some reason going down is harder on me than going up.

  6. We will be on the Dream in August and are thinking about doing the Behind the Fun tour. I've searched on here, and on Carnival's site, and I can't seem to find any recent info on it. Is there anyone that has recently sailed that can help me out on this? We'd like to know how much it costs and what areas are generally seen. Also, is there a minimum age to participate? The youngest in our group is 9.

  7. It's been a few years since we've been on a cruise, and we are working on planning our excursions. If you're told to be back on board at say, 5:00, is that 5:00 ship time or 5:00 island time? If I remember correctly, it's ship time, but just want to double check before I book anything through a private company. Thanks for any help!!!

  8. Thanks for posting a review! I'm currently booked in 2392 in August, which is on the other side of the ship and one door down. Did you notice a lot of noise from the galley above you? I didn't realize it was directly above when I booked (although, to be honest, I probably still would have booked this room since I really want to have the cove balcony :D).

  9. I am looking for something to do with a 12yo and a 9yo. My daughter and I are deathly afraid of heights, so ziplining is out!

I know that the ship descriptions for cave tubing say that you hike through the jungle for 45 min, carrying your own tube, which means my husband or I would end up carrying my daughter's tube. Is there a private tour that does not require you to carry your own tube?

My husband is interested in the ruins. Which site is best?

If we just wanted to see the town and have a local lunch, what are the must see places to see or eat?

I know this is kinda all over the place. These are just some of the things we've talked about doing. If you have any other ideas, please throw them out there. Thanks for any help y'all can give!

  10. My husband and I surprised our kids a few years ago. We told them we were going to Galveston to spend a long weekend on the beach. They were 6 and 9 at the time. When we got to Galveston, they noticed we were following the signs to the cruise terminal, so we just told them I wanted to go see the ship that was in port. When we finally got right beside the ship, we told them that it would be our hotel for the weekend. Their response??? They got upset because we lied to them!!!:D:eek::D I have a video of it somewhere. It is sooo funny.

Good luck with however you plan to do it! And let us know how it turns out!!!

  11. I'm looking at doing the steakhouse on the Dream in August, and I have a few questions also.

    1. It doesn't say anything about a free bottle of wine. Is that only included if you have the Cheers program?

    2. Are the appetizer and side portions large? Pretty much all of the apps sound amazing. If they are small portions, my husband and I would possibly order 2 each and share so that we could have the opportunity to try several.

    3. If you don't finish your meal, can you take it back to your cabin to have later? I know those last 2 questions sound kind of crazy together, but 18oz of steak is a lot bigger than what we typically order when we go out.

Thanks in advance for any insight!

  12. You are welcome. I put it on our calendar. If everything works out, we will wave at you and take some pics. That way your kids can say... 'we were right there'! :) We will be starboard side on a small beach. The ship usually gets to our spot around 5:30 p.m. Have a safe trip!

We sail on the 12. I'll look for ya'll on the beach and wave. :D

After seeing this last night, I had the weirdest dream. Apparently, I didn't realize that we were supposed to be onboard before she set sail. I was floating down the river, pushing a very large man (I have no idea who he was) that was laying on a pool float. When she went under the bridge, I said, "Aww man, I wanted to be on deck for that." So I climbed the bridge supports so I could hop on board and see a little bit of it. I don't know where the big man went and that's all I remember. I'm sure the wine I drank had a little to do with all that too, though. :o
