1. Might wanna check out the fine print in regards to price drops with early saver. Their "policy" is any sale that says 'for new bookings only' that you cannot get a price reduction. The problem is that almost every sale they have says this. I'm really starting to think there isn't much point in booking early saver when you can just wait until within 60 days of the cruise and you'll likely do better.

  2.
Tried to ES price match on Monday to the Past Guest sale, but was denied because it is for "new bookings" only.
They must not be enforcing their policy evenly across the board then. Someone on my roll-call was just able to get obc using the past guest sale rate. I'm still waiting to hear back myself.

  3. I pretty much had the same decision to make on our last cruise between the 6 day Breeze and a 7/8 day on the Liberty. We chose the Breeze just for the ship pretty much. If I had to do it all over again I would've gone Liberty. We didn't feel like we had any better of a time because of that ship. We still had a good time mind you but it just wasn't worth it in hindsight. Just my .02

  4. Why doesn't everyone in Tampa quit crying and do what everyone else in the country does, travel cruise port. My god you guys are close enough to Port Canaveral, Ft. Lauderdale and Miami that you could drive there the day of or night before. Most of America has to travel to a port to catch a cruise, often farther then you would to even to take a short cruise much less a 7 day. Yes I would be bummed if I was use to one in my back yard but it is not the end of the world and not like you don't have other options that are rather close by.

You've added such insight to this thread. Go crawl back into your hole now. You obviously have no interest in the actual thread other than trying to insult a geographical group of people which is pretty lame.

  5. I guess the lesson learned here is to take (and save!) screen-shots. Save a screen-shot of the lower price that you saw, save your invoice & booking info, etc.

mooveebuff, good luck with this. It sounds really weird and kind of fishy...

Last time I tried this I was told they wouldn't accept a screen shot as I could alter it to my benefit.

Also to the ones saying why call, I always try to submit online but the vast majority of the time the form will not submit and just sits there. Tried both Internet Explorer and Firefox with the same result.

  6. My Korbel on Princess is 15 retail and only 25 on the ship. I think you may be a little high on your estimate.

Considering Carnival sells a bottle of Malibu that I can buy locally for $15 for about $70 onboard I don't think their estimate is high.

  7. The conversation that you had with them sounds so much like the one we had with Carnival's 'guest solutions' department a few weeks ago. They were incredibly rude to us and even threatened at one point to cancel our booking altogether without our consent. Sheila I think it was, wanted to do nothing more with us than argue. Even went as far as to claim that any screenshot I sent would be manipulated by me anyway... I also hung up disgusted at the treatment we received. We've pretty much decided to take a break from Carnival after our upcoming trip. So far we don't feel like they appreciate our business and there is only one way to fix that on my end

  8. I'm leaving on the Legend 6/29 and super excited.

Has anyone ever had this cabin? I'm curious because just 2 weeks from sailing and I have the only aft cabin booked on this deck (not including the wrap arounds - they are booked). Is this because they are undesirable? There is one aft cabin still available on deck 7 for another $20. Should I look to move?

    Thanks for any advice!

We had cabin 6262 and it was a great location.

  9. Besides the two category upgrade, this is what is showing under My Offers:

    VIFP Club Member Exclusive Offer

Up to $575 off Fun Select rates per stateroom plus up to $40 Arcade onboard credit per stateroom

Savings off Fun Select rates up to $300 per stateroom on 2-5 day sailings and up to $575 per stateroom on 6 day and greater sailings. Savings may vary by ship, stateroom category and sail date. Category restrictions and exclusions apply. Onboard credit offer is non-transferable and is provided as a non-refundable onboard credit to your Sail & Sign account of up to $30 per stateroom on 2-5 day sailings and up to $40 per stateroom on 6+ day sailings. Onboard credit is applicable for Arcade purchases only and cannot be used prior to sailing. Onboard credit may not be applied to cruise fare or Taxes, Fees and Port Expenses. Carnival reserves the right to offer promotional cruise fares that require a minimum occupancy requirement of 3 Guests per cabin. When the booked cruise fare is contingent to a minimum occupancy requirement per cabin, cancellation of one or more guests in a cabin may cause a re-adjustment of the guests booked cruise fare according to the prevailing and eligible rate. Failure to make timely final payment in full of the recalculated fares for all remaining guests in a cabin will result in automatic cancellation of the reservation for the entire cabin. A valid and qualifying VIFP Club Member number is required to book this offer. Offer is capacity controlled and it is not applicable on Carnival Australia sailings. Offer is applicable on sailings between 5/15/14 - 11/30/14.

I tried to get Carnival to price match our November sailing to a very similar offer we saw yesterday. It was a VIFP member exclusive rate, after a conversation with a very rude guest relations agent we were basically told that we were not eligible for said rate even though we could very clearly see it for our date and ship when logged in. She refused to accept any screen shots that we had because "we could easily manipulate them to our benefit". She was very nasty about the whole thing. We are severely agitated with Carnival and our upcoming 3rd cruise with them is looking like it will be our last farewell to them.

  10. Pretty crappy if you ask me. We were teased forever of the Legend getting upgrades then it was taken from the area altogether. Then we were given the Pride only for them to say, sorry, you can't keep her. Now we are left with a 16 year old ship that does 4/5 day sailings. Adding another Fantasy class ship won't help anything in my opinion. As I stated on another thread on this topic we prefer balconies and won't pay for a suite to get one.

  11. Option...

    1. Either Legend or Miracle

    2. Paradise remains alone 4 and 5 day cruises

    3. Paradise adds 7 day cruises too

    4. Another Fantasy Class ships joins Paradise

    5. Carnival opts to build another BIG SHIP FRIENDLY port on the other side of the Sunshine Skyway.

I'm really hoping that third option of mine isn't coming true now that the Legend and Miracle will be elsewhere.:(

We prefer being in balcony cabins and 7 day cruises aboard the Paradise just won't do it for us. I can't see me paying suite prices just to get one. If things pan out the way it's looking, then Carnival is nudging me in the direction of RCI or NCL. Maybe this is some power play by Carnival trying to force the hand of the Tampa area into building a new port.

  12. I think they're having a problem selling the summer cruises, so they're focused on that. We aren't hot weather cruisers (going somewhere hot in the middle of the summer), so none of these sales apply to us.

We're also waiting for the Fall sales to start.

    It definitely looks that way.

There are some awesome rates out there right now for summer cruises. The brand new NCL Getaway has a 7 night for just over $400 per person interior.

  13. I am hoping that being directly under the main atrium, right underneath the shore excursion desk in a cove balcony will allow our room to be normal (68-70) on this next sailing.

We roasted on both of our previous sailings in balconies on the conquest, but always noticed that the hallways were cold on decks 1 and 2.

I hope you have better luck than we did in a cove balcony room. We kept the a/c dial kept to the coolest setting and the room just never felt comfortable. Luckily I always bring a small fan when we travel which was a life saver.

  14. OMG! Are they kidding?

It was bad enough when there was one with a photographer trying to take your picture.

I hope you left out that this was a Camp Carnival activity, or something from the Wiggles promoting Capt Feathersword.

Seems quite gimmicky to me. I laughed when I saw that mentioned on facebook.
