All of my excursions have been prepaid so it is really just spending money that I am interested in. Someone posted that USD were accepted just about everywhere except for Chile and for there it had to be the CLP.

We are taking a SA cruise starting in Chile and finishing in San Diego, California next March. Can any suggest what currencies to get before departing for Chile or are USD used everywhere? Thanks! :)

I'm in 7301 and it isn't a corner room. Three from the back.

How about those who cheat by looking for answers on their smartphones? It's really a shame that some very poor sports can ruin the atmosphere f what should otherwise be an enjoyable time. I agree that the answer sheets should be exchanged for the reasons stated by the OP.

This happened on our HAL cruise to Alaska a few years ago. The team called themselves The Cheetahs but everyone else in the room had a rather different name for them.

Heading out on the Eclipse in March, 2019 and would like to know if it is best to book reservations in advance or wait until we are on the ship? Would it be Canadian $$ if things were booked in advance? Thanks.

Can anyone list the dimensions for these tags? I have sleeves that I used for Princess and would like to know if my Celebrity tags will fit in them. Thanks. :)

Can anyone suggest good hotels to stay at in San Antonio, Chile for one night pre-cruise? Thanks. :)

Celebrity is quoting me $81.00 for a transfer from the Santiago airport to the port. Is this considered expensive, seeing as the trip is 1.5 hours in length? Thanks.

Geez someone is a tad crusty on here aren't they?

Santiago is not a port city. The port you want is Valparaiso. It is 1-1 1/2 hour bus ride from Santiago.
We stayed at the Ibis hotel in Valparaiso for three nights. It was fine. Ask for a room on a higher floor, facing the water.
Wow how far is the port from the airport??

Can anyone suggest a good hotel to stay in that is near the port in Santiago, Chile? I will be flying in a day before my cruise and would like some place safe and affordable to spend the night. Thanks! :D

Is it just travelers from the US who require a visa for this cruise or does everyone need one? The last time I went to Cuba it was a land vacation and I think the visa was built into the airfare.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I booked the Best Western Plus in San Pedro for the night prior to the cruise and the Jamaica Inn in Marina Del Rey for the day post cruise. I will either take SuperShuttle or Uber from the airport and cruise port so everything is set. By the way, MDR.......super $$$$$ at all locations.

If you want to do any sightseeing, staying at LAX is a bad idea. Many will stay in Santa Monica or San Pedro. What are you interested in and when are your flights (times, day). There are many in here that will help figure out what's best for your interests. LA's huge. We have everything for every taste.
Also, there are many reliable less expensive options than the cruise line 72 pax bus.
I get into LA around 11:20pm so there is no need to plan any sightseeing as I head down to Long Beach the next day. On the return I have about a full day in LA before my flight leaves around 1:30pm for home the following day. A friend of mine has a home in Marina del Rey and I was looking at visiting there on the return trip. No major sightseeing is required for the trip.
Princess has quoted me $44.00 CAD and change for each transfer.

Can anyone tell me if Jeff Warren is still entertaining on any HAL ships? His website isn't currently up to date. Thanks.

Can anyone tell me which hotel(s) in Los Angeles are connected with Princess? I would like some place to stay pre and post cruise out of San Pedro but am flying into LAX the day before the cruise and flying out of LAX the day after. I guess I will purchase Princess transfers to the port or take a shuttle from my hotel. Thanks for your help. :)

Can anyone post the easiest, most economical way to get from Los Angeles to San Pedro? Thanks.

Minus any delays with traffic it usually takes about 10 minutes to get from the airport to the pier. Have a great cruise. :)

What about doing this cruise in March? How is the weather at that time of the year?

The container wasn't in my room when I got on board last week but all I had to do was ask Ben, my room steward for one and he had it there in about 10 minutes. :)

The Star looks like she is away from the shoreline. Do we have to tender to go ashore?

Gee I guess I've been told...

I will be taking insulin with me on my cruise next month and wonder if it is necessary to complete the Passenger Health form found on the Princess website.
Regarding a sharps container should I request one prior to the cruise or will it be ok to wait to speak with my room steward about getting one?
Thanks and happy sailing! :)
