Hello,
I'm thinking of doing a cruise out of LA for the first time ever in April 2016. Only been to orange county once on my companies dime. Little nervous on a decent hotel to stay at. I saw someone talk about the best western gold sails. It seems fairly cheap for LA standards I guess. Just wondering if anyone stayed there and if it was ok. Was it within walking distance of places to eat and see. Any other hotels anyone could recommend that are under $200? Thanks.

Guess they didn't make the days required high enough for gold and too many people are that now. Didn't realize the past guest party was taken away from gold but oh well. Seems like back in 10 or 11 the party was for anyone that was on their 2nd cruise, then it went to gold and above, now I guess it's platinum and above. Why call it a past guest party?

Sorry for the death, but we all know the family is going to get a lawyer because you know it's Carnival's fault!

Definitely a drone, you can see the 4 blade compartments. Maybe Carnival getting some aerial shots for a new video.

Not sure about all ships but most of the two tops are in a row or like 4 or 5, so you still get a table for two but can also socialize with your neighbors.

If you don't mind doing some walking Key West is definitely a walkable place to see the sights. Not a bad walk down to the southern most point. On the way you will pass by Hemingway's house and then walk back up Duval street to see the famous bars to the port.
Nassau has ton of shops and restaurants near the port.
Enjoy the boat at Freeport.

So sorry to see the smokers boo a hooing away that you can't sit on your balcony and smoke. That smoke in turns floats up to my balcony and I have to contend with the smokey smell or even worse cigar smell to ruin my sitting on the deck. It's all about me me me!

Yep I go and look. The only signs I see are the ones that say don't use the elevators. I wait until it's close to 1 or so and the cabin has always been ready and nothing was said. I never seen any crew at any of the doors standing guard or anything making sure you can enter or not.

Hello,
Thinking about booking a cruise out of NOLA and driving the 10 or so hours down there. I've seen some hotel packages that let you park for free during the cruise and also has free shuttle to the port. I googled and found some but like to get others recommendations. If it's not a 4 or 5 star hotel that's fine with me, it's just a place to sleep for the night and doesn't have to be in the heart of New Orleans either. Thanks for any information.

I think maybe 7:30 ship time.

Should be on your boarding pass, I think maybe 8:30 is when they want everyone on board though I could be wrong.

I got one last year before going a cruise. Here in MO they send you a card that you can mail back with a reason why you can't serve. I just put on was going on vacation and they sent back another card saying I was excused very painless.

I was on the Valor week before last and it may have been out of the norm but the balcony door actually stayed opened on it's on. I just had to push it all of the way open and it remained opened. Unsure if someone with knowledge of the doors did this or what but it was nice.

I hope to get my yearly bonus and tuck money away for a cruise. Been lucky the last 3 years!

Was just wonder is it feasible to walk from the Queen Mary to the Cruise Port with luggage ofcourse. Staying the night there before the cruise. On the map it doesn't look far at all. Thanks.
