  1. We usually book a suite and the fftf. I can't remember if our boarding docs had fttf on them but we had no issues getting to our room early. My dad is elderly so being able to drop our luggage and I can bring lunch to him in the cabin while unpacking makes for a much more relaxing start of the cruise.

  2. I've travelled with my dad while he was on O2. Even over to Europe - its doable and not that hard. There are companies that specialize in providing equipment for travel - make sure you have an RX from your doctor first. And make sure if you are flying that the POC is approved for use by the FAA & the airline. There is usually a form to fill out too (signed by Dr) for the airlines. We rented a large in room POC for sleeping and in room use and then a small portable POC (about 10 lbs) for daytime use. His normal POC was too larger (about 15-20 lbs) for comfortable day tripping. We used the small one which was delievered right to Dad's home for the travel to Europe and excursions. We had enough battery power to last about 12 - 14 hours. The large in room was delivered right to the ship. Easy Peasy!

    Good Luck!

  3. I've only been on a CTN on Carnival (the Pride Sandy Cruise) and many NCL cruises. My observations;

    Food - Carnival has good basic food (think Meat and Potatoes - my 80 year old Dad loved it) but I find that NCL takes more risks. They don't always work but I appreciate the effort to try. I like food and think nothing of making duck breast for a weeknight dinner so I enjoy NCL's MDR and specialties a lot more. Also, the NCL 23 hour diner has much more variety than Carnival's Pizza and Room service only late night.

    Entertainment - since Jean Ann Ryan left NCl - the show (exept for Epic / Breakaway) are about the same. However, NCL will hold the extra shows like magicans, comedians in the large show room so everyone can see. Carnival - the comedians are in a smaller lounge - can be very hard to get to.

    Rooms - Carnivals are larger. But I like the NCL bathrooms more - no frisky shower curtain! :eek:

    There are more points but I think these are the ones most people are interested in.

    Thanks.

  4. Our tours with All Around Italy were fantastic. We had private tours set up in Naples and Livorno. My father is elderly and is on oxygen. He is mobile but tires quickly and sometimes just needs to rest. Fabrizio and company did a great job in letting us set our own pace, change up the stops and really letting us enjoy the trip. The restaurants that were chosen were great - lots of good food and sights. I felt that they really wanted us to have a great experience and went out of their way to provide great service.
