We are also looking same area but hotel needs to be wheelchair friendly

If you need wheelchair friendly, the Esplanade in Fremantle will be good for you. Good location, easy access.
We stayed there recently as we had a wedding to attend in Fremantle, my friend is in a wheelchair and also used this hotel.

Rhapsody was our first ever cruise, and because of the wonderful experience we had we are confirmed cruisers and just about to embark on our fifth cruise. Loved every minute, every experience. Cannot speak for the aft cabin experience we were starboard mid ship.
Hope you don't cancel, enjoy Rhapsody [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

We always use Travel Insurance Direct.
Be mindful of credit card insurance, it only covers you for the international part of your trip, if you have domestic travel/flights maybe to get to your departure port....you will not be covered for that part of your trip. Check the small print.

Hello Loulou
We have done 4 cruises, two with RCL - Radiance and Rhapsody OTS. Rhapsody was our very first cruise in 2011. It's because of this fabulous ship that we became so thrilled with cruising.
We have since cruised with RCL again on Radiance, also with Celebrity and NCL. In six weeks we go on our first Princess Cruise.
I have loved all our cruises and cannot find fault with RCL, cabins, food, service, entertainment have all been brilliant.
We do travel with a very open mind and a very positive attitude.
Just enjoy every moment and remember different strokes for different folks, not everyone will like/dislike what you like/dislike.
Enjoy your cruise with RCL you won't be sorry.

How anyone can think a drinks package is meant to be shared is beyond me. The fact that the cruise lines are starting to relax the rules about everyone in a cabin having to buy the package is great ..... but if folks keep trying to cheat the system they will change the rules again and we will all loose out.

This is a really great review, we're cruising on Radiance in March to NZ, really looking forward to it.

Thank you so very much for taking the trouble to post such a very informative account of your holiday.
It has certainly helped me on a few points I had listed to research. We are doing this very same trip in March of 2015.
Once again ..... Thank you

Sounds like you had an amazing time. My husband and I are doing the very same tour leaving vancouver on 17 Aug. We are finishing ours with car hire for 8 days travelling back through Banff, lake Louise, Jasper, then onto Kamloops and whistler, before arriving back into vancouver.
What you have said In your review has made me think we are doing the right thing, as you say you would have like more time in some of the places
We felt that with such great scenery we would need longer to take it all in.
The cruisetour ticked a couple of boxes for us though, with the train trip and all the beautifull fairmont hotels.
Really excited after reading your review.....thank you

You would definitely need to tip if you ordered after midnight and before 6am.
As to the currency, that would depend on the cruise ship you were on, if it's Celebrity (as you are on the Celebrity forum) they deal in US$, so I'm sure the crew would appreciate that currency.
Enjoy your cruise and welcome to CC.

We are cruising on Celebrity Century on 17 August 2014 Vancouver round trip thru Inside Passage, Alaska.
Also Radiance of the seas. Departing Fremantle 14 March 2015 bound for Sydney via New Zealand
Also legend of the seas departing Brisbane 20 April 2016 bound for Hong Kong

Appreciate all the responses. You actually did help us to narrow things down, so many thanks. We are fans of Celebrity due to the lack of smoking, so the Solstice sounds very appealing. I do know that you can't do it justice with just one visit, so it's a great excuse to return, if life and money allow us that luxury!
We are doing a 17 day cruise from Perth to Sydney via New Zealand, on board Radiance of the seas. Ports are:
Fremantle
Esperance
Adelaide
Melbourne in Australia
Then:
Milford sound
Doubtful sound
Dusky Sound
Dunedin
Akaroa
Wellington
PIcton
Finishing in Sydney, really looking forward to a great cruise. I live in Australia and have visited New Zealand before.

Thanks Socceref, what an amazing review.
We are also originally from the West Midlands but now live in Perth WA.
You captured the essence of Fremantle and Perth beautifully, so feel we can trust your descriptions of the other ports. We are really looking forward to sailing out of our home location, and just love Sydney, so to sail into Sydney harbour will be awesome albeit early in the morning.
I have just one question if I may........how many formal nights were there?
Thanks again for a very descriptive and informative review of your holiday.
