  1. And then there's Dan France. What a fun and energetic guy. I'm not sure I buy the fact that he's only held the role of Cruise Director for a few short weeks. It all looked so natural.

I've never seen so many people gather along a promenade to witness a "welcome back" event. That guy must consume 10,000 calories a day to fuel his non-stop dancing and endless chatter with the crowd. I couldn't stop watching him. Neither could many others.

It never felt that it was about him. He was just there to have fun WITH us.

His rule over the White Hot Party was something else. Again - I couldn't stop watching. The crowd grew until the end.

Dan was assistant CD the last time we were on the Dawn and he was great back then I am so happy that he is now CD because he deserves it.

  2. This is what I was afraid of; it is how the policy is written so enforcing it this way is not really "over reaching" on the part of that particular security person. It's probably best to buy bottled water on shore in the port than buy NCL's water.

Did you see or talk to anyone with something like a Brita water bottle they brought with them? I'm hoping there's an exception for "used but empty" sports water bottles like that when re-boarding.

We went to Bermuda in Aug of this year on the Dawn and I had a water bottle (empty) that I had no problem with coming back on the ship.

  3. I asked the butler for gummy bears (to soak in rum, lol) and he brought them to me. He also brought me cream for my coffee (I hate the small individual creamers). I told him to skip the small canapés that they bring, told him I would prefer sandwich quarters, which he brought. We were in a deluxe owners suite which came with three bottles of alcohol, I asked him to switch out one bottle which he did with no problem.

If your butlers name is Dominic, then you have one of the best!!

Totally agree about Dominic he was the best. Had him 8/12 on Dawn and he made our trip.:D

  4. LOL :D Not sure about adoption, but if you were sailing during the same week, we'd be happy to invite you up for a drink(s). There is NO WAY we'll be able to drink 6 bottles of alcohol :D

We certainly are looking forward to it though!

We are sailing on the 12th with you. I would love to come up and see what the garden villa looks like. We are in one of the aft penthouse on deck 9 but I always wanted to see what was upstairs.

  5. It's a possibility. ;) We have one booked for next month. :D

Thanks for your comment and glad you enjoyed it.

I actually considered booking this again to Bermuda just to see the changes. But I know there have been a lot of complaints on social media since the refurb (ship not finished, things not working, and especially complaints about the plumbing...including toilets not working in cabins) and decided I would hold off and booked something else instead. :(

Kim What do you think about the new water and soda that we are not allowed to bring onboard starting July 15.

  6. Is there a new restaurant being added to the Dawn? I read in the 6/17 roll call for the Dawn that they are adding a new Mexican restaurant at the aft side of the buffet on deck 12. Also the buffet is going to change to stations instead of just the one long line.

  7. That is an actual OX cabin that had not been assigned. OX usually means guarantee, but there are actually OX cabins on most, if not all, of the ships. In other words, you were assigned what NCL considers one of the worst cabins. Although, I would consider it better than something on the 4th deck forward. So, you have to decide if you are ok with the location. For me, I would think it is pretty good in terms of location. I don't really know anything about the actual cabin as it is an obstructed view cabin, but maybe others have posted about it.

It is unlikely, once assigned, that they will move you. But if prices drop before you sail, especially after final payment, you can usually upgrade yourself if you pay a little more (occasionally for free, but almost always if you pay a bit more). Just keep checking prices.

Edit: People who have reported upgrading after final payment, have said they were able to keep their promotions from when they first booked. If you do it before final payment, it is considered a cancellation and rebook and you would get whatever the promotions (if any) are at the time you rebook.

Thanks for your answer. I think that this cabin would be great. The location is perfect for us, so I am praying that we don't get moved. But if we do that's fine too considering the price and we get the free beverage pkg and also four dining meals in specialty restaurants.
