  1. I always travel carryon only for cruises. As a 30 year old 6'1" female, I am very particular about my clothing and can not bear the thought of lost luggage.

For me what probably helps the most is forgoing formal night. While I do dress up every night but I don't do the big ball gown thing, it just takes up too much space. Because my clothing of choice is usually pretty body conscious (think Express, Bebe) I can wear a different dress/romper/jumpsuit without taking up much space. I also save space my either not taking any heels or limiting myself to one pair. Instead I pack a few pairs of Jack Rogers sandals in metallic colors.

On sea days I typically stick to maxi dresses and or tunic style coverups which can go directly from the pool to the MDR. Lily Pulitzer and Victoria's Secret has some good options.

  2. I just booked my first Celebrity cruise on the Reflection! I used the Captain's Club perk to book stateroom 2166, a C2 cabin for the price of a C3. But now I'm wondering if I should have stuck with a C3 cabin. While I know that the C2 balcony is larger, I'm worried that it will be overly shaded and potentially noisy.

Just looking for some advice from the experienced Celebrity cruisers. Pictures of cabin 2166 or similar cabins that show the balcony are greatly appreciated.

  3. What I splurge/don't skimp on:

    - For this Oasis cruise DH and I splurged on a D1 balcony. This cruise is our late Christmas and DH's grad school graduation present so we wanted to go all out. We would love to move up to a GS but it but they appear to be sould out.

    - Shellac mani and pedi prior to cruising. Don't have to worry about chips from all the sandy beaches and it typically last well past the cruise itself.

    - One speciality dinner with a nice bottle of wine each cruise.

    What I save on:

    - The Spa, see above. All the relaxation I need on the ship is a Mojito by the pool.

    - The photos. We rarely purchase any, and if we do it's only one. I typically prefer the candid shots I take with my dSLR to the more pose photos.

    - Bingo, I just don't get the appeal.
