    The ‘Key’

We found this well worth the money, it was great to drop off the bags on the first day, and the Key lunch was nice. Internet was fantastic, and we found it fast enough to stream Netflix etc. Priority seating at the entertainment venues was well worth it and very useful. We were able to get off the ship at all ports using the Key with little trouble. Final day breakfast was nice, and we disembarked using our own line. Didn’t use the priority hours for the flowrider etc.

Glad you had a great cruise! What venue did you have the "Key" lunch?" Which activities had priority hours?

  2. Hello! Does anyone know what kind of stereo equipment is available in the Royal Loft Suite on Oasis of the Seas? Where is the equipment located and how is it controlled?

Also, what brand piano and player module is in this suite? Does it take CD's or Discs?

Are there any options to stream music from an iphone?

Are there speakers throughout the suite?

Is there a DVD player on the main floor television?

  3. Group Sales only handled the sail away party. The food was excellent and we had plenty for everybody with left overs. We didn't go top shelf but around mid-range. I recall reaching out to the concierge about 4-5 months in advance. He referred me right away to group sales and they Emailed me all the options.

They really did a great job. When one person wanted a specific type of whisky, that they hadn't brought, they sent somebody to get a bottle.

Awesome news! So, just to clarify, Group Sales handled ONLY the event and you did NOT have to have your booking inside of a group (8 or more)? Again, thank you for the information.

Has anyone else ever hosted an event in one of the deck 17/18 suites, specifically suite #1740 (RLS)?

    1. Did you have a pianist or other live musician?

    2. Do all guests have access to the 17th deck?

  4. We did in our OS for 14 and planned it all through Group Sales prior to sailing. They have a pretty extensive catering menu for in room party. We had a full bar with bartender. They charge by the hour and per person with a minimum for both. We didn't do music and with the setup it wouldn't have been enough room. I would reach out to the concierge that's how I started the process.

It was an awesome way to start off the cruise everybody loved it.

Thank you for your reply! I'm glad you had an awesome event! Did you have your booking in groups sales or did groups sales only take care of the event? I've seen the groups sales catering menu and it looks wonderful. How far in advance did you make these arrangements? How far in advance did you contact the concierge?

  5. We will be sailing Oasis of the Seas in SR# 1740 this Fall. Here are a few questions that we have:

    1. Has anyone ever hosted a cocktail party (with hors d'oeuvres) inside this suite?

    2. Did you plan this through your Royal Genie, Concierge or Group Sales?

    3. Was this planned prior to embarkation or while on-board?

    4. Did you have a pianist or other live musician?

    5. Do all guests have access to the 17th deck?

    6. What was your overall impression of your party/event?

Does anyone else have any tips or suggestions regarding planning event inside your suite? Thank you in advance for your replies!!

  6. I hosted a wedding cocktail party - less than a full reception, but still quite a bit in our 2 bedroom Aqua Theater suite. The genie arranged for about 11 platters of food at no charge, but I had to purchase the wine (at a 20% discount). I worked out with the genie the best date/time to host it in the 2 weeks prior. She did email me the catering menus which I can forward if you'd like. Since I didn't want to outshine the wedding itself, I was trying to keep it simpler than the full catering stuff. Basically, you don't have to have everything figured out early and the genie will take a lot of the burden of planning on for you.

Thank you for this wonderful information! Which ship were you on? What kind of food was served? Can you please forward those menus to info@joshuaandmichael.com?

  7. If you are looking to host a party in your cabin, which we did. I contacted the concierge first because I didn't know whom else to contact. Even though it was months out he did respond and referred me to the "group sales" manager. We hosted 14 in our OS at sail away with heavy appetizers and a bar setup. We had two bartenders/servers and everybody commented it was the best way to start off vacation.

We will be hosting a wedding reception in our RLS, later this year. We will have a Royal Genie; however, will not have contact with them until closer to our sail date. Once we have enough guests booked, we will move into groups. For now, are you able to provide any basic pricing for the appetizers / bar / servers? Was everything arranged prior to departure or did you have to give prompts to food and beverage to make sure the event happened as planned? Thank you in advance for your advice.
