  1. Is it possible to jog on Labadee or is the island not big enough? Is there a map of the island as well? I am not a fan of jogging tracks and treadmills so hoping I can get off ship early for a jog. Thanks!

If you guys like to ride bikes, theres a rental company that will bring the bikes to you in old san juan (not pan American pier). Theres a nice bike path out to escabrom beach area. Good way to get off ship to explore for a few hours.

Do you know what company does this? We have been to old San Juan a few times before and hubby loves to bike so this could be fun. Thanks!

  3. We are booked in June and it looks like we are in one of the new state rooms - Deck 12 #1878? I hope this is a good thing as I didn't realize this was a new room when I booked. We have only been on one RCL cruise and that was 7 years ago on the Majesty. So technically this is our first real RCL cruise. We have cruised on Carnival and NCL several times. Looking forward to checking out what this ship has to offer.

  4. Men MUST wear a jacket. If not, one will be provided.

Thank you so much for the response. We will just plan to eat somewhere else on our Grande night rotation (we are doing Dynamic Classic early seating). I am assuming Khaki pants and polo shirts are appropriate attire for the other restaurants? That is about as dressed up as he gets and that only lasts through dinner.

  5. The only reason we picked this cruise was to sail a new ship and to go to Bermuda. I would hate to miss Bermuda. Maybe I should just look into the Oasis/Allure as well since that would be a new ship for us too. I would much rather hold off on the Anthem until they can go to Bermuda then book it and port changes. Decisions.. Decisions..

  6. We just got back from the PERL. My son who is 14 is the only one that participated in the "kids" club. He had a great time. He met some nice kids and they hung out a lot. I signed my daughter up for the Dolphin program but she wanted to participate in the normal ship activities. The kids we saw though in the club and participating in the kids club activities around the ship looked like they were having a blast.

Here are some of things we participated in as a family:

    Scavenger hunt

    Daily Trivia

    Origami

    Wii on the Big Screen

    Hula Hoop lesson

    Goofy Golf

    Bean Bag Toss

    Soccer (3v3 and shoot out)

We had a great time and really enjoyed the ship and the crew.

  7. Anyone ever been on Carnival? Is the warm chocolate volcano similar to Carnival's warm chocolate melting cake? I had that every night on the Carnival Splendor two years ago, and would get the chocolate volcano every night on the Breakaway next month if it is as good!

My son preferred Carnival's warm chocolate melting cake. He ate NCL's volcano every night though so it couldn't have been too bad. The only thing he didn't like is NCL puts a strawberry sauce with theirs so after the first night he ordered it without and he was good.

  8. I have an issue and I am hoping I can get some advise. We have a cruise out of POM in July. We are flying into FLL the day before our cruise. Our flight gets in really early - 8AM so the kids wanted to stay in FLL for the night to spend time at the beach. I booked the Gallery One hotel as I like the location to the beach and the water taxi. I usually use SAS for transportation between Miami and FLL. I didn't dawn on me that SAS does not pick up from Gallery One until I get a note back from them stating they only pick up from select hotels. So my question is does anyone know of another company I could contact about transportation from our hotel to POM? If not my only option is to find another hotel, which I don't want to do. I really appreciate any advise.

I found a company that will pick up from Gallery One and it was only $20 more then SAS. QLS is the company and they also do return trips from POM to FLL for $12 per person so I arranged that as well. I am glad I could get that figured out without having to change hotels. I now have learned to double check hotels that are listed before booking. ;)

  10. Do not go with Juneau Tours & whale watch. We made that mistake. They are very unorganized and booking in advance gave you no priority over anyone stepping onto shore and purchasing a tour there. A waste of time and money!

Is that the same as Juneau Whale Watch? We have our tour booked with them because of the number of people we have we could not fit in with the smaller boats. I hope not as the family looked to me to book and I really wanted Harv and Marv but they couldn't accommodate our group size.

  11. According to John Heald, on Facebook, the itineraries will be available on February 12th. I do hope there is a normal 7-8 day cruise from NY as I can't do 11 days!

I hope they announce the repositioning information as well. I would love to book it but want to know dates and ports of call. If they won't work for us then I need to plan a different curise for 2016. :D

  12. Wonderful thank you so much! Yes I forgot my mom is going to get him an ID from the Drivers License place since he won't have time to get his drivers licence before we leave. I don't mind providing any documentation they may need. I just wanted to make sure I didn't forget something and they say, "sorry you can't board". ;)

  13. I am taking my son, 15 year old brother (turns 16 the day before cruise), 26 year old brother and his girlfriend on a cruise in July. I am trying to make sure I have all the paperwork I will need for 15 yr old brother and son since my husband is not going.

So for 15 yr old brother, I will have certified birth certificate, notorized letter stating my mom is giving me permission to take brother out of country, my dad's death certificate since he passed away late in 2014, and notorized letter stating I can provide medical treatment if needed.

For our son, he will have his passport, and I will have notorized letter saying my husband is giving me persmission to take son out of country without him.

Is there anything else I would need? This is my brother's first cruise and I have never taken a minor before on trip without parents. I don't want anything to stop us from getting on the ship.

    TIA for any help!

  14. anyone know the schedule for stretch classes, spin classes etc?

When we were on liberty, there was an early riser stretch class free, and pay spin classes on sea days..pay $12 per class. Does freedom have something like this?

Also, what deck movies are playing currently?

I would like to know as well. We will be boarding the freedom in a few short weeks.

  15. Carnival better show World cup games or my husband will jump ship. :D I even cancelled our Steakhouse reseverations and moved us to Your Time Dining to ensure eating would not interfer with certain games he wanted to watch. I don't really care to watch the games but it is a lot of fun on the ships with people from all over the world cheering on "their" team.
