It's $250 pp at Atlantis directly.  No transportation of course but we probably would've taken a cab back anyways so not a big deal.  If we can get 50 pp credit...it would basically balance out to what we had originally paid with a little extra towards transportation.  But I need to see if the day pass through Atlantis can be cancelled if we don't dock for some reason.  That is why I booked through RC to begin with

We definitely can’t swing $309 PP for Atlantis. That’s what makes this cancellation so sucky.

I am waiting on a call back right now. They should honor it.  That was almost a WEEK ago, and the price was available all day.  Not our fault they undercharged and didn't discover their mistake.  I am going to fight to get the excursion back and at the original price I paid if they won't honor it.  That is the only excursion we have booked on the cruise and the one place we wanted to go.  Now over $300 AND it's sold out for our cruise!  So now we lose it altogether?  The OBC doesn't help with that

Let me know what happens. We’re pissed about this. And we can’t book anything else that day because the Atlantis excursion is still in our cruise planner. They currently have a sale on going that ends Wednesday, so we probably won’t even be able to book anything. This is so wrong.

  3. So I just got an email saying they messed up and didn’t charge enough, so anyone who booked Atlantis when it was discounted has now had their excursion canceled. And Atlantis is now over $300 per person, which is way more than the $200 it was charging a few weeks ago. But at least they gave a $50 credit. 😤

What nonsense. They made the mistake, and they should just eat it. We canceled our Blue Lagoon excursion to book Atlantis, and now that excursion is way more expensive.

  4. So I'm going on a 4 day cruise on Royal Caribbean in April. One of the days is in Nassau. I've been checking excursions, one of them being Atlantis. The typical day pass (resort only, no swimming with the dolphins or anything special) has been typically at least $200 per person to get in.

So today, I found Atlantis Aquaventure posted for $64 per person??? Seems ridiculously low, but I booked it, and sure enough that's what was charged. Going to the Atlantis website, its still like $200 per person. Whats up with this? Did Royal make an error and I got lucky? Insane one day sale?

  5. Hello, myself, wife, and three kids (5 year old twin boys and 7 year old girl) are stopping in Nassau on Royal Caribbean in April. We were contemplating doing the beach break at the Blue Lagoon, but I’m reading that it’s overcrowded and the food isn’t great. Not sure I want to shell out $300+ for a beach and blah lunch and 45 minute boat ride from the ship.

The other one I considered is Margaritaville since it’s so close to the ship, but read that my twins wouldn’t be big enough for the water slides and the beach is nothing special. Argh.

Any other ideas? Should we just stay on the ship?

  6. Could you tell me how you liked the Hampton Inn? I will be going on the Freedom in July and have reservations to stay at this hotel. Thanks

The Hampton Inn was excellent. The room was very clean and comfortable. There are plenty of restaurants in walking distance. It's right next to the airport. The hot breakfast was decent. Overall good place to stay. I would stay there again.

  7. Greetings from snowed in MA. We are on the Freedom in April and am loving your posts. Helps to get thru yet another snowstorm. Congrats on your anniversary and enjoy the cruise. Not sure who wondered about Adventure Ocean but both my kids are "grads" of it. They loved it right up till the teen years. Now, my 16 yr old says no more but we'll see, Happy sailing

I sympathize Anne. I'm from West Springfield, and am on this sailing. I'm not missing the tundra!!! But I'm afraid of what I might come back to! =O

  8. Looking at the weather forecast for places like NY and Boston - wow! I hope anyone flying out from there can actually get out! I think anyone living in Canada or the US eastern seaboard, can relate to the anxiety winter weather causes when you need to get to Florida for a cruise!!!

Hey hey hey! Part of the Ghostie Crew, checking in! Reporting live from the 7th floor of The Hampton Inn by the airport!

My wife and I flew out of New York this morning, but we had a full radar on our tail. No troubles though, whew!

I will be following your thread, but can I make a picture addition? We snagged a prime aft balcony, and want to make people jealous! LOL.

    See you at the M&M!

  9. Carl, thanks. That's crazy. Who in the world needs to drink 15 cocktails a day!? And that list doesn't include water, soda, coffee, tea.

Brandy, I've been having the same internal debate as you. This will be my 6th cruise on Sunday, and will be the first one getting a drink package. My thought- on previous cruises, I never had much of a bar tab. Always well under $200 for a week long cruise. But the reason was, I didn't want to rack up a huge bar bill, so I pretty much had a glass of wine at dinner, and a random cocktail, and that was about it.

Now, this cruise, I will drink all the time, and I'm not talking about being a sloppy drunk for 7 straight days. In general, I'm not a huge drinker, so how do I justify $65 per day? This is what I'm thinking (and am adding in the ala carte gratuity, ballparking):

    Cappucino in the morning: $5

    Mimosa with breakfast: $9

Frozen drink by the pool: $11

Two glasses of wine at dinner: $25

    Dessert shot: $8

Four bottles of water each day: $4 (I'm going off of bringing a case on yourself)

Now throw in a soda while walking around, or another coffee, or an extra drink poolside or at a show, and its easy to hit that Ultimate Package $65.

And personally, I'm 6'1 200 pounds. Having a few alcoholic drinks spread out through the day won't have me throwing up off my balcony. It'll have me relaxed and not stressing about the bill at the end.

And by the way, Take out any of those random alcoholic drinks, and guaranteed it'll be replaced with more premium coffee, soda, or non-alcoholic frozen drinks. No problem hitting the $65.

Does my logic seem correct? I will be giving it a try in a few days.

  10. I talked my wife into getting the $20/day drink package for the bottled water, and the smoothies at Squeeze. I've never actually been to Squeeze. Are their smoothies included in the package, and are they any good?

Also, what size water bottles do you get with this package? My wife wants to stock up on the bottled waters for drinking off the ship. Any pointers?

I'm going to the get the Ultimate and pretty much always have a coffee, cocktail, or wine in hand.

Any pointers/tips/words of wisdom? We've never gotten drink packages before.

  11. We are on the Allure right now. We have well used our money's worth in bottled water alone. Any frozen drink you can think of they will make it :)

Regarding the bottled water- if you buy the replenish package, where do you get it? And is it the Evian bottles? My wife and I are going to get this package, and I want to make sure we can kinda stock up to bring bottles on excursions.
