  1. I would say that's a very fair and accurate view of Regent and not just Navigator. It's true to say the staff are amazing, they have an incredible knack of remembering guests and their favourite tipple.

Navigator is a lovely ship - even more so since the refit earlier this year but, and its a big but, we won't cruise on her again due to the dreadful vibration we experienced at night. We even resorted to wedging a cushion behind the new wall mounted television to prevent it banging against the wall.

On the plus side there are 3 other ships now in the fleet we'll continue to enjoy.

  2. Thanks for that info rallydave. When we booked we were asked which London airport we wanted to use. We weren't really bothered as all of them are within an easy commute and nonstop to Europe is the norm. Looking at my booking I don't seem to have an baggage allowance included either[emoji34].

  3. We just booked another Regent cruise and are shocked to find we have an indirect flight stopping at Amsterdam on the journey between Venice and our destination - London. This considerably increases the journey time. Why would they do this? I can see plenty of availability on alternative direct flights.

  4. My OH bought a diamond ring for me 6 months ago and i've lost one of the diamonds. I've hardly worn it and I'm very disappointed that this has happened.

I know that the shops are run by a company based in Miami and the ring is guaranteed for 2 years. I have contacted them and they want me to return it to them for repair or replacement. They say it could be 8-10 weeks before I receive anything back.

I had a chat with a reputable local jeweller who was extremely helpful and gave me lots of very helpful information including how the ring has been made and why the diamond has fallen out.

I know this is a longshot but has anyone any experience of buying fine jewellery from one of the onboard shops?

  5. You really have my sympathies. We were without 2 large suitcases last year on Infinity and we hadn't even flown anywhere. It really is a horrible situation to be in. Splitting our clothes between the cases wouldn't have helped in our situation because we "lost" both! Initially the ship insisted they were on board but eventually they conceded that they most certainly weren't.

They gave us two bags containing a toothbrush each, some toothpaste, a comb, razor and deodorant (which smelled like something I clean the toilet with!). We were also given 2 Celebrity T shirts - both size XL which fitted neither of us:rolleyes:.

Our cabin steward was great, he collected our clothes each night to take to the laundry (no charge) and brought them back the following morning. OH was given free tux hire. We were given some OBC to buy clothes when we got to the first port on the 3rd day but it was Sunday and everything was closed. We wasted our next port day looking for suitable clothing - not something I intended to do on my holiday.

I do hope your luggage is reunited with quickly. It was 9 days into the cruise before we saw ours again.

  6. Lost luggage is a nightmare as we experienced this year when our 2 suitcases failed to make it on board our cruise, this is despite the fact that we hadn't even flown to the ship - it was only an hour drive from our home to the port:confused:

For the first 24 hours guest relations kept insisting our bags must be on board "somewhere" simply because they looked back at the quayside and there were no bags left behind.

It was Day 9 before we were reunited and 3 months on no one has provided an explanation of how this happened.

I do hope you get your bags soon Mel&Ken
