  1. Yes you can. We did that because we had a back to back and wanted the same cabin. Since it is a suite we were taking a chance that the exact cabin would be available but since there are less suites especially on the Pacific Princess we thought it was worth wait listing for what we wanted. (first cruise was a S3 and the second cruise we had an S2 and we wanted the S3) We just got an email 2 days ago that we had a match and indeed it was the cabin we wanted so now we do not have to move cabins at the end of the first cruise.

It doesn't cost anything to wait list so I say go for it, it worked for us.

  2. And one more to add to that is Suite cabin L107. It is right below the gym and just above the bedroom is the treadmills. You hear a thump, thump, thump sometimes during the day and night. It's not bothersome when you are asleep but trying to go to sleep or take a nap it is really bothersome. Good news it usually only last 30-45 minutes but we love that cabin because of the lovely balcony and access to the space over the bridge when in port. I had to change cabins on future cruises after being in that cabin on our August 12-26 Norway cruise.

    Just a heads up!

  3. We just got off the Crown May 6th and took this excursion. I booked it months ago and did not remember that it was "on your own". We signed up for Rome "on your own" and the escort on the bus told us about Rome even though it was "on your own". We had been to Rome before and knew what we wanted to do. The escort told us about where we would meet, at what time and gave people here phone number should there be a problem. She also booked one of the hop on hop off buses for about 6 people who wanted to use them (Yes she most likely got a commission but I thought it was nice to offer).

Our escort did not talk the whole way to Lourmarin until a block away and said to meet at the meeting place in 2 hours. All of us on the bus said "where is the meeting place". She had to answer each one of us once we got off the bus.

Aix-en-Provenc again we had little information from our escort about where to meet and when.

When we got back to the ship I went to complain and shore excursions told me it was a "on your own". I told them to please disregard everything I just said and was sorry I was mistaken. The guy told me that she was most likely a last minute replacement since she also did not speak every good english.

It was also May day a national holiday and only a few food places were open, no shopping.

Bottom line the towns were delightful, but do your homework to learn about where you are going, it will enhance your experience so much more. It was my mistake and a lesson learned the hard way.

  4. Hi Norris,

Thank you so much for responding to my question about the aft suite. I can calm down now. When you take into consideration the 45 minutes looking at a glacier from any cabin on either the port or starboard side verses the whole week in a suite and a walk up on deck for 45 minutes it is a no brainer. Thanks for the slap-up-side the head.

I really do appreciate your wonderful reviews and the time you take to personally answer everyones questions.

Thanks for the heads up about the diamond princess review. I read the whole review and passed on going to the grocery store, there is always tomorrow to grocery shop which I dislike anyway.

    Thanks again,

    Janet

  5. Hi Noris,

I am enjoying your review so very much.

I do have a question though, we are taking that same cruise in September 2017 and have an aft suite. You indicated that the ship turns so both sides get to see the glacier. If you are on the back of the ship does it just pass you by or does it stop for a while so those of us at the back can sit on our balcony and enjoy the view? What are your thoughts, should we change cabins? The glaciers are the best part of the cruise for me as we have already been on 3 Alaska cruises.

Your opinion would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Janet

  6. This is downright entertaining. I was glued to your review. I truly can't wait for more and of course more laughter. My husband and I will be traveling to Copenhagen in September for a TA with my Father who is 91, his fiancee who is 78 (who moves instead of packs) and a friend of ours who is somewhere in his 80's. I expect to have similar experiences and be the ones who are the pack horses for the group. Love your humor and your ability to not "loose your cool". Can't wait for more.

  7. Hello everyone thank you so much for the wonderful and helpful advice. This is our first one day and did not know what to expect.

  8. Hi Norris,

I have been glued to your post this entire weekend. It took me 3 days at about 3 hours each day. Your review was so informative and I greatly appreciate you taking the time for all of us.

I was waiting for the punch line about your home invasion expecting it was your sense of humor and to my horror it was true. I am so very sorry that happened to you. Since it has been more than a few months I trust you are on the mend and that it is a distant memory.

I look forward to reading all your reviews. You are the best!!!!!

    Thank you again,

    Janet

P.S. as you can see I rarely post so you know this was important to me.

  9. Thank you so much for the lovely and detailed report for CroisiEurope cruise line. My extended family, all 28 of us are cruising with them next summer for an 8 night 5 river cruise mostly in Germany. Our travel agent also booked another family of 40 from the US on the same cruise so we Americans will have almost 1/2 of the ship. I emailed your review to all the family members and it put them at ease hear from someone in the US who had first hand experience on the ship. Thank you again for taking the time to leave this review, it really helped all of us be at ease for next summer.
