  1. I can not figure out how it works either. DH and I did a cruise in Jan of 2011. in 2014 decided to take another. I had a casino rate, he did not. We did not get a free drink card. I know he had more points then I did. We both had $25 in casino cash. He got a coupon in the mail. I got an e-mail, which I printed out. We were with cousin. When I went to get my $25 I noticed his name on the list. I asked if he had something coming. He did. $50. He had no idea. They told me that anytime he travels on Carnival he gets that. He was on his 11th carnival cruise and had no idea. Now, I am his favorite cousin.

  2. Last March, In Long Beach Ca. Not smuggling. My MIL was in a wheel chair. Going thru security and I over hear them talking about new ways to check for smuggling. My Cooler is on the belt starts to get checked, same security who was just talking about new smuggling...... You don't have to check them, They have a wheelchair. So just make sure to have someone in a wheelchair.

  3. She uses a large concentrator at home and tanks when she is out. I have been told she has tried 2 portable concentrators with no luck. She is going to talk to her "guy". and see if she can get a hook up. She was very excited to hear that it will be a non problem. She's working her end. We are not flying in.

  4. I did not know that my MIL would need a wheelchair until we were at the port and she was asking about it. Carnival is wonderful about it. You can rent one on board, if needed. We did not. But make sure that he gets a Needs assistance bracelet at the muster drill. You can call 3000 from any phone and they will bring a wheel chair to you. You can also take the elevator vs. the stairs at ports. They also have nice people to push the chair on and off the ship at embarkation and debarkation. We did tip them for the service.

  5. One of our guests backed out at the last minute. Our cruise is on Sunday (March 23rd). Do we need to call and delete the guest from our booking or just leave it?

Do not cancel before the cruise, just have them be a no show at the port. My cousin had to pay when she had to cancel a guest. They needed 2 in a cabin. Lost the fare paid for the canceled guest and then had to pay again for a 2nd person in the cabin. You will get the taxes and port fees back plus tips, if already pre-paid.

  6. First cruise Disney 2000 4 day first honeymoon $ 800+ Lots of drinks, Liquor brought home, sweatshirt (still wear it), Fancy champagne glasses ( long broken) Tips paid in cash those days.

Second cruise 3 day family reunion. RC $398 Lots of drinks, Oh I got the round. Liquor brought home, Pictures, Bus x2 to LAX. Mama $76 soda package, bingo and tips

Third cruise Valor 2011 Second honeymoon 7 day $542. Tips, Wine package, 4 cartons of cigs , picture, a few trinkets, a few dinks. The big difference I FOUND CC. Learned the tricks.

Fourth Cruise in 8 days~ tips pre paid. No OBC but got $480 refunded. $50 cruise cash. 4 day cruise 3 adults 1 child on account. We will see how we do. Hopefully $200. Bringing on soda, wine. MIL will want cigs. I think that is were the $50 will go.

  7. I was told there is no rhyme or reason to who gets the offers and who doesn't. We booked our next cruise with my casino offer. DH and I have only been one 1 Carnival Cruise and that was 3 years ago. DH won more, and then for spent more in the casino, BUT I got the Casino rate. He did not. I asked when I booked and was told there is no rhyme or reason to it. And from my experience I believe it.

  8. I have recieved only one casino offer so I don't know how often they come out or who they offer them to or how much you need to spend in the casino to get one. I am shocked we don't get one of the offers as hubby and I spend about $6000 - $8000 in the casino alone per cruise. No rhyme or reason to their offers.

You got it right, No rhyme or reason. I have the casino rate and DH did not. He spent more in the Casino then I did. I am loving the rate. 4 day cruise for $104 pp. Even better since we had already planned on going, booked at casino rate of $224 pp. 3 days later price drop and we got a refund! Yes, more $$ for the casino. Also have 2 $25 casino credit e-mails. I wonder if they will both work :D

  9. Does the entire amount of the gratuity get charged on day 2?

Or is it a daily charge of $11.50?

In our case we are on a 7 day cruise and it is $11.50pp per day, and I am trying to understand when this will hit our account.

    Thank you!

You get a one time charge, on day to for the full amount. Yes, it is a bit of a shock. That is the reason we prepaid this time.:)

  10. Thank you for the education. I already have my doubts about their TA. She couldn't find their VIFP #'s. They are going on their 10th Carnival cruise with me in 19 days. I am their acting TA since they do not have a computer I am in charge of all the pre check in and printing out luggage tags and boarding passes. It was a 4 day out of Long Beach cruise 2 or 3 years ago. Inter. room. SO the pricing is about right after taxes.

  11. Is it true you can currently book a Carnival cruise with no single supplement? I read that somewhere and of course with no search right now I can't find any more info.

I'm looking at a three day Mexico cruise.

There are some single supplement. But they are also screaming SPRING BREAK. We are booked for the 3/24 inspiration and was looking to add a cousin. Single. 2/24 $244 and change. 3/24 $600 and change. Also check to see if you have a casino rate. Great deals out of LB right now. Spring break or not.

  12. Was talking to someone about cruising. They told me a few years back they booked about 5 rooms for a family cruise. A week before a family member broke her elbow and could not go. They cancelled her and were charged $135. They had already paid for 2 in the room. Shouldn't they have gotten $$ back for taxes and port fees on her? Just wondering. I told them they got screwed by the TA.

  13. We had a PT room with a connecting room. Valor 2011. Yes we heard them and believed it was because of the connecting door. They were a family of 4 with younger kids. Was able to look in when rooms were being cleaned. All was quite when we were ready to sleep.

  14. I was looking at a cruise and asked my cousin if she'd be interested. She called her TA, who could not even find her or her husbands past guest #"s. Gave her a price that was a few hundred more then I had found. I told her I could even get her Vifp# and got her a better rate. She decided against it. A few weeks later I found a super rate and called her to brag. She called Carnival and booked. Her only complaint is that they will not fill out her boarding forms or print out her luggage tags. She does not have a computer. So I am now her TA for the computer work. My pay a few DOD's for finding her the great rate.

  15. Use gloves is you want to, but remember to change them often. Many people get a false sense of security with gloves, but in reality YUCK! Being in the food service industry I have seen people put on 1 pair of gloves and not change them at all while they are working. These are the same ones that complained about me not wearing gloves, but washing my hands after each task. BTW It is really hard to use a knife when wearing gloves.
