  1. No point in whining about status as it really does not mean much anyway.

Have been at 4 star status for several years and what is advertised

as perks really does not happen.

Never got priority embark or disembark. Went with the thundering herd

along with all the rest. A little more difficult with a motorised scooter, but no big deal.not in any hurry. No one ever got to the first

port of call before the ship.

Don`t get the magazine. Was not given the pin. Don`t even get the tiles anymore.

I really don`t care about the status . I pay the price ,eventually get on the ship and enjoy myself having a great cruise. Not fretting about status.

My advise is to enjoy the cruise to it`s fullest and don`t worry

    about the little things.

  2. don`t worry about using a walker. there will be many others with theirs also.

my wife used an electric scooter many times. you do,however have to make sure

the cabin you book has a door wide enough to allow entry. with a walker this is no problem.

the staff of hal will be very halpful as will be most of your fellow passengers.

after my wife`s passing i am now using the scooter and the only minor difficulty is gaining access to the elevater.

you probably will still have to attend muster drill but i think a wheel chair may be provided.

so put your mind at rest about your walker, and have a wonderful ,enjoyable cruise.

  3. as you know holland america line hands out ceramic delft blue tiles in various forms and shapes, as part of their mariner society rewards program. Since there is no accurate administration, it is not exactly known how many different tiles have been produced on behalf of the company. On my website http://www.tonrijppaert.nl you can find an accurate inventory of the hal tiles. The website is bilingual and shows 310 tiles thus far collected. Every first day of the month the picture on the homepage will be renewed and in the first week of every month i make an update with a further description in the menu news, depending on eventual new acquisitions. Comments, suggestions or report of missing tiles are most welcome.

Happy cruising to all of you,

    ton rijppaert, **** mariner,

thought they had discontuined this as none were supplied on my last cruise. Thought, well, just one more cost cutting item. Do they still do this? Have accumulated quite a supply from years ofcruising.

    Happy sailing.

  4. Note to cruiser 100;

don`t give up on celebrity. I know just the experience you had.

We booked a christmas holiday 14 day one time and was the worst cruise

we ever had,and we have had many. All other calebritys were great.

The young folks were absoultywild. The galopping herd stampeading the

corridors nearly knocked my wife down and did actually knock me down.

    They just kept on running.

The room steward said he just hates this particular cruise. They bring

food from the dining room and throw it around the cabins and he has to

get it cleaned prior to the next boarding.

There was apparently no parental supervision.

We will never boo k a cruise during this time period again.

Would we book celebrity again ? Of course. All others were enjoyed.

Hope your next cruise will be a great one.
