  1. Thank you for the info! Which suite do you have? I'm wondering if the noise varies by where people are under the galley.

I'm also wondering about how feasible it is to have 2 toddlers sleep on the couch. Does it pull out to accommodate 2 kids? We are considering sailing when our boys are 2 and 3, so a Pullman would be tough to do but they're already too big for a PnP. Would a travel toddler bed fit on the floor?

Again--thank you for any info!! Have a fabulous trip!

  2. I did it!! Booked a penthouse suite. I realize it's not a bargain, and it's only 1 night, but it's a graduation celebration for me (finally finishing my degree!) and I don't know that I will ever be able to get into a suite again.

Thanks to everyone for your opinions and experiences--the CC community is always helpful. :) Have a great day!

  3. Just got an email offering an upgrade from mini-suite to full suite for a 1 night cruise. Has anyone done a short cruise in a full suite? It would be $149 for the upgrade. I have never been in a suite before and don't know if I'll ever get the chance again, but also don't know if the suite perks are offered on a one-nighter or if we'll be in the cabin enough to make it worth it.

Any thoughts? It's on the Ruby from Vancouver to Seattle.

  4. We have taken diaper sacks with us and they work like a charm. We like the ones made by Green-n-Pack. We've found they hold up similar to the bags in our Diaper Dekor and they have a baby powder scent that masks really bad diapers. We use them when we travel since we have 2 under 2.

  5. We love our Inglesina Trip umbrella stroller. Folds easily, is light, has full recline, a handle to carry it with when collapsed, and fits through cabin doors easily. It has a 5 point harness and is rated to 55 lbs. It has a huge sun shade. We've taken it to Florida and our redheaded son didn't get burned. Highly recommend it for cruising. An Ergo is great but can get really warm.

  6. Thank you everybody for your experiences and thoughts!

We just came off a 1 night re-positioning cruise on Grand Princess with the little guy (Grandma came along to help). The worst part was the long wait to get on the ship--once we were on board we had fun. I was really surprised with how sweet all the cruise employees were to him--people had told me that folks are friendly with little ones, but people actually sought us out to say hi to him. It was a good time; definitely more stuff to bring and think about, but it worked out well. DH and I primarily cruise to catch up on sleep and spend time with each other, so evenings in (with room service and a balcony!) sound lovely. The 1 nighter was a good test cruise, but we are already looking forward to more.

Thanks again CCers! Much appreciated. :)

  7. We are considering B2B on the Liberty of the Seas on 12/15 (5 days) then 12/20 (4 days). Our son will be 13 months old at that time. I'm wondering if folks have done a B2B with a small kid--if so, is 9 days too long? I'm wondering if we should just consider one cruise or the other. We plan on using the nursery and in-cabin babysitting if it's available, and we may have family with us on the 4 day portion. Any thoughts or tips or experiences would be great to hear. Thanks!

  8. Last March I cruised when I was 8 weeks pregnant with DS. I had "morning" sickness 24/7 and the smell of certain foods (e.g. hot dogs, fish, red wine) made it worse. I avoided some of the buffet areas to help with that.

I took along chewing gum, ginger chews and wristbands. I was nervous to take much in my first trimester but ended up with a prescription for ondansetron (Zofran) for bad nausea (I was pretty sick until 24 weeks). Be sure to stay hydrated, rest when you can, and try to relax. I definitely recommend the doctor's note to insure that you aren't quarantined if you get sick.

Have a great time! Although I wasn't feeling awesome, I loved that cruise--it was great to get away and the sounds of the ocean helped distract me from not feeling great. :)
