  1. I think it is an excellent idea if you can get the single supplement rate. Carnival sells it that way, why not take advantage of it....

My sons are booking separate rooms so each have a bigger bed. And one drinks and the other doesn't so one will buy the drink package and the other doesn't have to. That seems fine since they are grown men and like their space.

  2. Has anyone booked a separate room from partner when there wasn't a single supplement just so one doesn't have to buy the drink package? Also, right now, I could book one in a balcony and one in an inside and save money. Seems like a waste of room because we would probably stay in only one of the rooms. It also seems dishonest and cheating the company. It just seems wrong, but it would save money. The hassle of only having one room key for the balcony seems to be a big hassle and I doubt they would give us a second key. I hope I'm not starting a big nasty thread but what do you think?:o:o

  3. My husband can't drink for health reasons so I'm the only one in the cabin ordering drinks. I want to try the package so I can try any drink I want without being afraid I won't love it, but I can't drink enough for the two of us. I thought about booking separate rooms since they aren't charging for the single supplement, but my husband thinks I'm crazy. Anyone else book two rooms so one can buy only one drink package? I don't understand why they won't make exceptions with doctor's notes.

  4. Graham,

I'll not comment on the rumor until you corfirm/deny it.

But let me say how much we enjoyed you being CD on our Dec 2, 2012 cruise. Your stand-up was top-notch. I don't know who else could tell but you really played guitar in the "Rock Britannia".

We were on the same cruise and my favorite two nights were the Rock Britannia street party and your adult comedy show. I hope to cruise with you again sometime in the future!

  5. The fact this story was from a "couple of weeks ago" (when the wine policy just went into place and confusion reigned supreme) makes me wonder if this situation was isolated. We really need some more recent stories from those who have embarked within the last 1-2 weeks.

I went on FOS Dec 2 and carried 2 bottles of wine in my carry on. When it went through the scanner, they said 'Bottle check' and I had to wait until someone came over and verified that it was wine and the bottles were the 'legal' size. It took a couple of extra minutes but not bad and I didn't have to sign anything.

  6. I got FOR my first cruise was to bring a large cup...mine was a 32 ounce insulated plastic cup....have brought one on every cruise since...especially great to fill with ice and a cold drink...and not have to get up while sunning by the pool.....or on the balcony...So many people comment on our cruises that they wish they had though of it!

I use a big insulated cup to make my own ice tea since I prefer brewed from a tea bag over instant.
  7. I am tempted to go with anyone that asks with or without my DH. I love traveling with him because he is more adventurous than I am so I do things I normally would shy away from.... but he doesn't relax well. It might be nice to cruise with someone who likes to relax and take it a little slower... sleep in, stay on the ship if we want, linger in the MDR for breakfast, sit on your balcony and read.... instead of climbing the rock wall, booking two excursions in one port, staying up late and getting up early so you don't miss anything, eating at the buffet for breakfast and lunch where there are more people, seeing every show and watching every contest.... I am usually exhausted when we get home and need a vacation after a trip with my DH.
