  1. We were on Oasis last week and the Pets at Sea are at the entrance of the Adventure Ocean area. My 5-year-old got to walk by it multiple times per day begging for an animal each time.

That is perfect! We don't use Adventure Ocean, so now I know it's there if we want to take her, but I won't have to walk past it every day on our way to the Carousel hahaha.

    Thanks for your reply!

  2. Thanks for sharing your vacation with us! We will be crossing paths on Sunday as we board Oasis!

I recently saw where Pets at Sea was replaced by a Britto store while Oasis was in dry dock.

Did they move the Pets at Sea experience elsewhere (into the back of another gift shop etc?) or is there just nowhere to make your own overpriced stuffed animal now?

My 3 year old NEEDS to know.

  3. As long as your child is in the picture it should be fine. We bought the package and no one really checked to see who was in the photos. We even had some random people in ours that we didn't realize were there until we got home.

So if some of the pictures of my daughter are in my in-laws folder, do I just move them over to mine and turn that in when I go to buy the digital package? Will they transfer those over to me?

  4. I hope it's ok that I have resurrected this topic.

I had a scenario that I wanted to run by y'all

    We have 3 cabins

    1. My husband and me

    2. my daughter (age 3) and my mom

    3. my husband's parents

Based on what I have read it sounds like pictures from cabin 1 and 2 would be in my package.

What about pictures of cabin 3 where my child is in the pictures? Would those be included also?

Sure! I didn't make that design, but here is where you can download it!!

Thanks so much for all your help! The preservers are adorable! Also I'm amazed at your patience and your heart oriented toward helping others! It takes a special person to sit down and reply to EVERY question and post! (And I am not trying to create more work for you by posting this, so PLEASE do not feel like you have to respond haha!)

  6. There are also a huge number of people allergic to dairy and gluten. I guess they should get rid of the cheese and crackers too. And lets not forget sulfites, so get rid of the dried fruit and the bottles of wine (for D+). What would be left to give? Oh, I guess it would be back to the pleather picture frame we all loved so much.

But people who are allergic to gluten aren't at risk of dying if they're just in the same room as gluten are they?

I like peanuts and other nuts as much as the next guy, but I can only imagine how difficult it is for someone who is allergic to nuts since they are everywhere, and some people have reactions so strong that just not eating or touching the food isn't enough to keep them safe. Just being in a room where there are nuts can be enough to send them into anaphylactic shock.

This picture was taken at the same pool on Monday (Much better)

BabyBerger, I was at the pool every sea day and never saw it more crowded than this picture above. Maybe I just had vacation brain and saw everything through rose colored glasses, but I don't think so! Perhaps it had to do with the pools we were hanging out by and the times of day?

I saw these pictures yesterday and I just can't get them out of my head! We sailed on Oasis over Thanksgiving 2010, and we didn't see ANYTHING in the way of crowding like this! I am wondering if this is common on the Oasis class ships and we just had an odd bunch with us, or if the crowds on radio's cruise was the exception?

Maybe everyone was in the pool because it was so hot, and the November temps weren't as uncomfortable? I'd love to hear Radio and other cruiser's thoughts! We're going again in early November this year (on Allure this time) and hanging out by a pool that crowded does not sound like fun!

  9. I was a first time cruiser on the Oasis a few weeks ago. It was very windy the first two nights and I thought there was considerable motion. We talked to employees as well as guests who had sailed on her multiple times before, and they all expressed that she was moving a lot more than usual. The cruise director even joked that we were taking the back-roads to St. Thomas!

I would take some non drowsy Dramamine with you to be safe. I took one the first two nights and it alleviated the queasy feeling and sense of the spins that I had gotten. It was inexpensive and I was glad to have it at my disposal.

  10. We had My Time Dining on our Oasis cruise last week with a party of 8. I had made reservations for 7:45 pm each night about 60 days before the cruise online (these spots seemed to fill very quickly so it is a good idea to start watching for when your reservation booking window opens). Each night at 7:40 we arrived at the My Time Dining podium, checked in, and were seated by 7:45 at the same table with the same waitstaff (Saiful at table 813..awesome!!). A few times there were long lines at the check in podium but since we had a reservation we were seated very quickly once we checked in. The loyalty ambassador (I think that is what they call the travel agent that does onboard bookings) told us that she has had a ton of complaints about long waits for tables and recommended we not do My Time Dining for our Allure cruise in 2011 but we had no problem at all with the process and are planning on trying it again. We did notice that the dining room on Deck 5 (Opus) where My Time Diners eat is closed off from the dining rooms on Deck 3 and 4. We assumed that was so the singing from the waiterstaff during first or second dining didn't carry over to our restaurant as people are coming and going at all times so there are no "shows" during the meal. That was really the only difference for us. The waiters were great (our waiter told us they put "the best" in My Time Dining as it is a much tougher job) we ate at the same table each night at the same time. I think if you plan to eat at different times each night and just arrive whenever you are ready you should be prepared to wait a bit and possibly be seated at different tables each night. Hope that helps!

Thanks so much, this was very helpful!

Does anyone know what happens if you book a dining time, and then don't make it then? Like if you would be late, or decide to grab a pizza at Sorrentos instead? Is there a way you can cancel or easily change your reservation?

  11. We are signed up for My Time Dining and I've heard some conflicting info and I was wondering if some experienced cruisers could point us in the right direction.

I see on RCCI's website where I can reserve our dinner times for each night of our cruise through My Time Dining.

When I booked, my travel agent pushed MTD because she said that you didn't have to plan around dinner times and could just show up and be seated anytime.

Is it one way or the other, or is it both? My best guess is that we can do either, and if we don't have reservations for a specific time, plan to wait a while? Is there still a wait if you have reserved a time slot?

    Thanks for your insight!
