I will be on the Epic June 12, 2022 and June just can't get here quick enough!

I'm going on that sailing too!  I haven't been on Epic before but the least of my worries is the weird bathroom set up.  Looks like it will be a fun time

  2. Experienced cruiser but first time NCL and not usually cruising this large of a ship.  I sail on Saturday on Escape.  I have read that there is quite a compeition for  lounge chairs and  "reservations" being made at sunrise by individuals. This hasn't been my experience on smaller ships.  Can  anyone comment on this?

  3. Booked on Enchanted same cabins as Sky.  Originally had minisuite L205 on Lido deck category MF (forward) with standard balcony...thought it was great then got an upgrade not asked for to Caribe deck category MA C427 (midship).  This has an 'angled balcony' .  That's not a huge benefit IMO.  Not bothered by motion, so mid ship vs forward not a big deal either.  Kinda liked the idea of being on the same deck as the pool and buffet.  Would you keep the old one?

We are booked on Sky out of Copenhagen 28 May. I originally booked an interior 1B. Through offers and TA we were moved to a 1F sideways interior. I hadn't looked at my account in over a month but when I logged on last night I was surprised to see we are now in a MF Mini Suite. Never got a call or email from either TA or Princess.

    Now that is an upgrade!!

Prior to my Asia cruise being cancelled, I had insurance with CFAR but my TA was told that it wouldn't cover this situation as it does not cover epidemics.  So definitely check your policy and call the cruise line before making assumptions.

This is hard to understand. How does CFAR not cover any reason?  simply tell the company that you have to work on a big project.   How are they going to know what your reason is if it is for "any" reason?

  6. Well I have to report today at the SEVENTH call that they finally made it work on my gift cards.  I tried another email address, still didn't get the cards  I used a completely different email that isn't the one I originally used.  This one worked immediately.  And for the two cards that weren't fixed they offered to make it right and send the bonus cards as well.

  7. We purchased seven gift cards total five for myself and two for my husband last week.  To this moment I still have not received  all of the digital cards. (I've received one) Called FIVE times to the "support" in gift cards.  I have confirmed that all of the transactions have gone through on our credit cards.  The "support" tell me they are sending them, and they never show up. No, they are not going to my junk mail.  I will never purchase gift cards again from Princess. This is a complete mess.

  8. They may do price changes but if a certain promotion is part of it you may lose that promotion.  I booked on the best sale ever with some air savings and when the price dropped I could not be reissued a cabin unless the air savings was lost.  As the air savings were significant it didn't make it worth itl

  9. Hello all,

Searched the forum for these types of responses didn't see matching ones.

First Princess cruise (past Celebrity, WindStar, Holland America, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Carnival).  Sailing Enchanted out of port near Rome on inaugural Enchanted.

    Questions are:

    1.  leaving time is supposed to be 7pm, what time will boarding start?

    2.  arriving day before flight. thought it wold be nice to spend the day before in Rome (know it's a short time . and won't really see much  but  wouldl ike to walk about some.)  what time would we have to leave on the direct train from Rome to the port to comfortable board the vessel?

  10. Sorry this response is not accurate. I've done it numerous times on multiple types of bookings. I've had them upgrade me for no cost as well if prices have come down they have let me pay the difference in price to go up to a different room. This was not part of the upsell program but me keeping an eye on the fares and calling to have my room changed. This is not to say that they will do it 100% every time but I've been told by a few agents that is as long as it is revenue-generating they don't usually have an issue.

All of that being said, if you had any sort of promotional on board credits gratuities included or drink packages it may change you getting those included and you would have to choose between the new room or keeping the amenities

All I can speak from is my experience and the response was No. Period. If you have done this you're another example of the inconsistency within HAL for changes after final payment. I offered to pay for an upgraded room, and the answer was no. I would sacrifice the amount of money according to the schedule because it would be a new fare. You did this apparently after final payment, and you said the magic words.....they will not do it 100% of the time...meaning inconsistency. ..."few agents saying as long as revenue generating"....this is not always true too.

  11. Ahhh, I see that you have not been reading carefully. I acknowledged that HAL may not be following consistent policies with their refundable fares. I questioned whether HAL's policies are consistent within their completely nonrefundable fares. The individuals who received upgrades in the above-referenced thread gave no indication that they originally booked a under a completely nonrefundable fare..

You are correct, I did not mean completely nonrefundable special fare due 100% when booked. My fare was not one of those And thank you for actually stating that HAL is inconsistent in this type of transaction.

  12. Perhaps not. As has already been discussed, HAL might only be flexible for passengers who book under a refundable fare. HAL might be consistent in following rules for the nonrefundable fares.

Thus, I ask the following question:

Has anyone here booked under a completely nonrefundable fare and received an OBC after final payment due to a price drop? Has anyone here booked under a completely nonrefundable fare and been able to upgrade cabin after final payment?

HAL is NOT consistent. There is another thread posted here that clearly states they have upgade after final payment.

  13. In your post above you missed adding that you booked a non-refundable special fare, which was established in your second post on your thread you referenced.

That is incorrect I didn't book a non refundable special fare. The final payment had been made 24 hours prior to the question about upgading. I was told no I couldn't upgrade without a penalty and that doing bhso I would forfeit my deposit which was several hundred dollars.

  14. Hi guys,

What’s the difference between a VC or VA cabin?

Our travel agent was able to get our existing VC room changed to a VA room on a new promotion with more OBC. The deal seems like a no brainer, but just wanted to make sure.

    Thanks!

tried to do the same thing myself without Us and told no. Can you tell me if your final payment was already made or are you still in the can cancellation period?

  15. To all, i am frustrated --- not angry or bitter. One poster said "sometimes they waive it" referring to booking policy. As far as my experience this has been true for at least 3 cruise lines I've been on .

Furthermore I have read innumerable posts about upper level star Mariners who received x or y perk, not having paid extra for it and not normally included in their package. Why is offering OBC 24 hours later to a non pinnacle suite first time guest some kind of tragedy? Seems like they don't want to retain new customers either as several posters pointed out.

For everyone's information it was a non refundable fare but the offer was made was offered BEFORE final payment date. I din't know and like a fool paid the final payment without looking. I didn't cancel and rebook. On Y date they offered the promotion in order to get people to book at the same fare that I was already paying. I could have the OBC if I was willing to give up several hundred dollars in deposit by canceling the reservation. Well duh. Of course I wasn't willing to do that.

To the poster who used the ice cream analogy which is a non sequitur. I'm not asking for something after the cruise. It is literally a check in the computer. Probably I would have spent it anyway. not now.

If I would have had booked months ago I would feel different. It was 24 hours. What about companies that price match? I was essentially asking HAL to price match with itself in a 24 hour period.

To the poster who referred to the alcohol prices and 15 drink limit I wasn't referring to another cruise line. I was referring to HAL's beverage pricing, whereby you have to have I believe 9 drinks a day to break even, thus basically in a week's time 90 drinks. That's wayyyy too much alcohol for me in a week.

  16. To those who have posted, thank you for your replies,

    1. As stated in the original post, the fare is EXACTLY the same. The difference is OBC. There is literally no cash involved here at all.

    2. The difference in time is literally 24 HOURS.

    3. Yes it is a nonrefundable fare. I wasn't asking for a refund. In fact I was wiling to upgrade and PAY MORE.

    4. Nickel and diming on the fare? really? Is it nickel and diming US when we pay exorbitant prices for bottom shelf beer, liquors or as another posted stated in a separate thread the wine prices? Or better yet you have to just about become an alcoholic and purchase the beverage package for 15 drinks a day if you want any kind of break on prices. We can't go else where for these things, so they can charge whatever they choose.
