Thanks for continuing to share your experiences. Joe, if you have the time and inclination, I'd love to hear about the day trips and the time in Florence. I'm on the Transatlantic next April and am considering places to visit to extend the trip. I already have the first two nights post-cruise booked in Cinque Terre. We visited Rome post-cruise last year.

Great pictures from the Azores! I'm on this Transatlantic cruise next Spring with the same ship and ports so have appreciated following along. Did you experience the Azores on your own or did you book a ships excursion or independent operator excursion for this stop? Any tips are appreciated!

Stayed in Hotel Smeraldo in October and had a great experience. Fabulous breakfast, location (20 minute walk to Colesseum in one direction, Vatican Museum in the other, 5 - 10 minutes to Pantheon, Trevi Fountain. We found it quiet and enjoyed the rooftop deck and top notch gelato and Roscioli Bakery right across the street.

There were jellyfish at Chill Bay when I was snorkeling there at the end of October. Didn't stop me from enjoying myself, although I was stung three times. Hurt like a bee sting to me, not as painful as I imagined they would be.

We boarded Freedom a few weeks ago. Dropped bags with porters around 10:45, on the ship before 11:30 🙂
It was a B2B for us. The second week new cruisers were coming on the ship around 11:20 I believe. Barring unforeseen delays, that is pretty typical in SJU.
We're doing a B2B in November. Did you have to leave the ship with your bags in between sailings or were you allowed to stay onboard?

Thank you both for your amazing photos, stories and insights! This region wasn't on my travel bucket list, but it is now! Reflecting on your cruise destinations over the years, how would you rank this experience? If you had to choose your top five cruise itineraries, what would they be?
After spending many years cruising the Caribbean, I ventured on a B2B Mediterranean with extra time in Venice and Rome last year and have a Transatlantic booked for Spring 2025. I appreciate your suggestion of Gate 1 travel Hoopster. There are so many amazing places a cruise ship won't take you....including the Arctic Circle after this year.
