  1. Well said. I agree 100%. I had booked this as a quick getaway for my husband’s birthday - we would have spent his birthday in Havana. Everything worked out so perfectly with departure port (close to home), ship (been on her twice and loved her!), and dates. We were both so excited, but now? We’ll find something to do, but we’re disappointed at best.

Lol...ours fell on my birthday :). Bday in Key West followed by a day in Havana!

    Yep...definitely disappointed...

  2. I’m not enraged...I’m disappointed.

I’m not saying never...just that the options offered don’t work for me.

This was an impulse cruise/vacation decision...my last cruise/vacation was a 2 week pacific coast cruise/road trip that I spent 18 months planning and saving for.

I know how fortunate I am, I love to travel and work/plan so I get what I want and get the most for my limited time and $$.

2018 wasn’t going to be a BIG vacation year...that little impulsively booked Key West/Cuba cruise would have been amazing...now, I’ll just go back to “plan A”.

But I reserve the right to be disappointed (and even a little frustrated) that “Plan B” didn’t work out.

  3. ...and now I’ve gotten a revised emailed confirmation, changing the cost (more) and the dates (nope)...and I did not ask for nor authorize the change.

I had told the NCL agent I was working with I would look at the options and make a decision next week. The email said we had til the 19th to make changes or they would auto-cancel. I assume since my reservation has been changed (without my consent) it will no longer auto-cancel.

I’ve asked that my reservation be canceled and, while I “never-say-never” , I will be hesitant to book with NCL in the future.

    Disappointed...sigh

  4. I think “disappointed” is the word of the day.

I’m going to wait a bit and see what they offer next week...but I fear the perfect storm of price/date/ports is going to be lost.

I don’t know if they think the longer cruise will be more popular...but it will probably price itself outside my “impulse vacation” range.

  5. I am so not pleased.

This was my first time with NCL. A quick cruise, Key West and an over night in Havana! My Birthday Week! Short cruise, Not to expensive...Monday-Friday with drive time on the weekends.

I just booked this weekend...I’ve never booked a cruise only 6 months out.

The new cruise is longer, (guaranteed to be) more expensive, and goes places I’m not really interested in for this trip.

The Sky goes to the Bahamas and not key west.

    Sigh...very disappointed.

  6. I am loving all this wonderful detailed information! My extended family (group of 9) will be cruising to Bermuda in June and I am trying to understand and evaluate the beverage plans.

One thing I haven't seen listed. How much is a simple cocktail? Say Bourbon on the rocks, or Rum and sprite? Although I love the occasional fancy martini...we are simple folks ;)

We are thinking about getting the stateroom bar setup for my husband (who only drinks his bourbon), but I can't decide if I will get a bottle of rum included or just order my drinks one at a time as I like a little more variety.

thanks again for all the absolutely wonderful information!
