  1. I have emailed.  There is nothing they can do for me, but I did alert them to the problem I had getting my refund returned.  I just wanted to alert others.  I hope you don’t have a financial emergency and need to cancel.  Although they were very late with my refund, I am most upset about their constant lies to me!

  2. Yes, I sent email.  I assume I will get the same NON-responses or lies that I got when I made numerous calls to get my refund back.  There were plenty of opportunities to get this right, but I obviously was not a priority then, so I’m sure that hasn’t changed.  I’m just trying to warn others!

  4. I had to recently cancel booking for April 2020.  I was supposed to receive money back within 21 business days - I did not.  I had to repeatedly call Viking, and each time I was told the money would be returned the next day.  They (including 2 managers) continued to lie to me for more than 2 weeks.  This is not professional & very disappointed.  I’ve sailed with Viking twice, but never again!

  5. We have a 5-hour layover in Paris and want to get over to Eiffel Tower to get photo. What are the logistics for this? We're flying from Istanbul, so I assume we have to pick up our luggage at baggage claim and drop back off for Paris to US flight. We may have a smaller bag that we don't need to carry around - are there lockers? Is it easy to hop into cab and get to Eiffel Tower to take pictures & get back to airport? I know we don't really have a lot of time because we'll have to come back thru security, etc.

Any tips? I really want our photos here!! Thanks.

  6. We are looking at booking excursions in the morning for both of these ports in Greece. Then thinking of taking cab into town in the afternoon. I know a lot of shops/restaurants close in the afternoon for their siesta. Should we reverse it and go into town in the morning instead??

  7. Annie Morehead, I agree, you never know what's going to happen while traveling - my friends and I say it's all part of the adventure!

On the way to Mediterranean cruise, my checked bag got lost. I had some clothes in my carry-on and bought a few tops in the ship's shop. There was a laundromat on the ship so I washed clothes, had some hanging in the bathroom to dry, made do and had a great time - didn't let it affect my trip! I filed a claim with British Airways, they cut me a check, and FOUR MONTHS LATER, imagine my surprise when my intact suitcase was delivered to my front door! The tag was still on the outside & same information inside with all my itinerary, etc. Glad someone finally saw my suitcase sitting somewhere and decided to check on it! I always laugh when I look at those photos because I have the same clothes on several days!!

  8. Wow, I am impressed, I received email back from Somandshjemmet Bethel within an hour, had some questions and they've responded back to those so we are booked there pre-cruise for May and got a corner room so should have awesome views of the canal! Now I just need name of a good restaurant in this location to have dinner - thanks!!

  9. Thanks for the recommendations on hotel. It seems Somandshjemmet Bethel does not take online bookings(!) so I emailed to see if I get a response. I don't really want to have to call to book. If that doesn't work out, I'll book something else on Danish viking's list near the canal. Also, Danish viking, if you could recommend a good restaurant in that area for dinner, I would appreciate it!! Thanks for all your help.

  10. I'm sure hotel recommendations is in this thread somewhere, but I don't readily see it. We will be flying to Copenhagen in May for a Baltic cruise. This will be our second trip and we have seen a lot of the touristy places. I would like recommendations for a hotel close to where we could do a canal ride (because that was fun!) and have a nice relaxing dinner and a short taxi ride to the dock. Any recommendations of a hotel and place for dinner would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!
