We sailed on the Pride in October 2016 and instead of going to the eastern caribbean we went to New York for 2 days. For now on I will always try to avoid hurricane season.

I'm not sure if the room stewards know if you pre-pay or not but the dining staff does. On our last cruise on the Vista in January we had anytime dining and when we would check in they would give us this little piece of paper to give to the hostess. I noticed one night that under my Daughter an Son-in-laws names it said pre-paid gratuities. They were the only ones in our group that had prepaid. Not sure if it matter one way or the other but I found this interesting.

We were at GT last week and were told by 2 different security guards that any chair with a green umbrella were free and not to give anyone money for them.

We were on this sailing also and had a great time. I can't say enough good things about the crew and how they handled some really nasty people. I keep looking for my cabin steward, Jomal to clean my room but I can't find him. [emoji51] We booked a cruise on the Vista a couple months ago for January 2018, I called Carnival when we got home and they are going to apply the 50% off to this cruise. I was told the change could take up to 2 weeks.

I wish I knew. Maybe they'll just change our order of the ports? Or change the itinerary completely? I just learned that you can signup for text alerts so make sure you do that.
Where did you sign up for text alerts?

I've actually been stressing about this. We have a cruise booked for October 2nd and I just realized that our passports expire on December 5th (I actually thought they expired next year). I am going to take the chance that the cruise line will accept them but also take a copy of our birth certificates along with our licenses.

We have cruised out of Baltimore several times and have always used our phones while in the bay. Usually on the first night we would turn our phones off about an hour after we went under the bay bridge and coming home as soon as my kids starting seeing lights from the shore lines they would be checking to see if they had a signal, they usually did. The same goes with arriving to Port Canaveral, once we started getting close to port we would turn on our phones and leave them on until we left the port, never had a problem. Hope this helps. :)

Sorry to highjack your post but wanted to know if anyone has been dropped off at the port and what time you arrived. My Dad lives about 20 minutes from the port and he is going to drop us off, because he's older and can be a little impatient sometimes I don't want to him to have to sit in a line long. We have FTTF so getting through security and getting checked in shouldn't be a problem, just wondering if it's better to wait until around 12:30 or 1:00 to actually get dropped off.

Can you please tell me what time you actually got to the port? We are cruising in October and have FTTF, I don't want to get to port too early though.
Thanks!
