Same way they know regular people have premier, plus or nothing. It’s attached to your account which your medallion brings up.

its a common bit of confusion. The email they sent is incredibly misleading suggesting suites are getting upgrades (they aren’t) and implying premier is now included. But if you click the “learn more” link, it’ll take you to the sanctuary page where you can scroll down to see the FAQ where this is located.

And the plot thickens - I read everything you did and decided that the Premiere was NOT included. And then I logged into my Princess account and went to the summary page and then see the ‘options for upgrades’ and then I click on “learn more” next to Bev Packages and then a screen pops up and says - you have already purchased the Premier Package. Goodness.

Yes, watched it live since it wasn't restricted to registered TAs in the end and nothing new. Here are some screen grabs.

This is fantastic! TY! And there is the answer to the Premiere Package Q about bookings made before the new Sanct release. Apparently NOT included in my booking. I already had all the Sanct amenities since I was in a Suite. The email that went out is confusing. I hope many of you are correct in that this won't overcrowd the Suite area. The only reason I booked a Suite was to have access to the Amenities. We do Suites on Celebrity too but those have become ridiculously expensive. I see Princess following suit.

Does your Travel Summary now state Premier package?

I purchased Plus with my Penthouse Suite and it is still Plus.  Absolutely no refund to me.

Hmmm, now I am questioning this. I have not made final payment yet. SO I just called and cancelled the PLUS package. I had received an email from Princess that 'looked' like they were now including everything in the 'Sanctuary'. We are in a Penthouse Suite too. But I might not have fully understood that email. I was already getting all the Sancturary perks - that's why we booked the suite in the first place. I just sent an email to my TA asking for clarity. I'll report back.

But how in the world will they know who is and isn't Premier if all suites sold from this point forward include the Premiere package?! On Celebrity - if you are on the Retreat Deck, you have the package. There aren't some with and some without.

Got the email saying that our booking had been ‘upgraded’ to the Sanctuary Collection (penthouse suite on Sun Princess).

I had already purchased Princess Premier to go with it - would I be eligible for a refund on that, if it’s now already included?

EDIT: seems not.  I just noticed that it’s called out in the FAQ for existing bookings.

I had my beverage package refunded. I had paid for it (or rather reserved it) and they refunded it as now my Suite 'inlcudes' the Premier package.

  5. Oh I am so glad to see all this detail! We are on the 10-night 12.30 cruise. Can you tell me a couple of things, mostly about the TV. We just got off the HAL Koningsdam and the TV/Movie set up was awesome. In our cabin, we could watch hundreds of movie titles, all free of course. And there were a couple of TV Series offered, whole seasons of Big Bang Theory. Does the Royal have anything like this? We just love to relax in our room and watch movies. And now we are addicted to BBT! Please let me know what you have in the way of movies and TV shows in your cabin, if you have the time and inclination. Would sure appreciate it!

Have a wonderful cruise! Thanks, Melissa from Austin

  6. I have sent an email tonight asking where they are, the boat. Right now I don't yet know of it is Marigot or Philipsburg. Very good point though, to find out - would certainly make a difference.

And I have been to St. Maarten about 20 plus times, I want to do so,etching different. This why I am considering Anguilla.

Thank you VERY much for taking the time to reply. I appreciate it so much.

And btw, who is Bankie Banx? :-)

  7. Hello fellow cruisers - thank you in advance for your thoughts!!!

We will be in port in St. Maarten for the standard 8am - 5pm, the day before Thanksgiving on the Celebrity Reflection. I have read differing views on whether we can get to Anguilla for the day. I have been talking to "Private Yacht Charter SXM". They have great reviews on TripAdvisor but I can't find a single review about them here on CC. Can anyone tell me if they know this charter group?

And does anyone have experience going to Anguilla from St. Maarten on a PRIVATE charter vs. taking the public ferry. Of course I would presume the public transportation takes longer but I don't know that for sure either. Would just like to hear of others experiences taking a private boat charter to Anguilla from St. Maarten on a standard cruise ship time frame. Just not sure we can make this work.

The charter folks say we can go to Rendezvous Bay, no problem. Leaving St. Maarten at 9am and planning to be BACK in St. Maarten by 3pm. Just so we have plently of time to get back to the ship and onboard. We never cut it close. But for some reason, I am just nervous, feeling like going to Anguilla from St. Maarten is too far. Is it? Thoughts anyone?

  8. Yes, me too cruise friends! We are trying to decide whether to book a D1 or JS for a 5 night cruise in August. Haven't booked yet, waiting to see if prices drop as we get closer. The JS is $450 more than the D1. Thoughts anyone? Would love to know about experience in a JS on the Vision. Would also like to hear from those who have been on it since the refurb. Thank you cruise critic friends!

  9. We have just returned from the Enchantment in room #7012. It is listed as a POV in category F but it is NOT one of those rooms mid-ship. In fact, it is forward. But the ship is so small and easy to navigate that the location did not bother us a bit. We have gotten so used to big ships and walking for miles, that this forward location was not a bother at all on this size ship.

This particular room was much larger than the mid-ship rooms everyone is talking about. We had the same configuration that all the photos show, BUT - we also had a lounge chair and an extra table and plenty of room for all. Our row of shelving was extended to match the length of the room and we had TONS of extra space. For the value for the dollar, this is one of the best rooms I have ever had on a ship.

    What it has:

    EXTRA large room

EXTRA lounge chair (not a desk chair, a NICE comfy chair)

    Bathroom shower stall!!! (no curtain!)

    Fridge

    What it does not have:

bathroom is not remodeled, standard old bathroom (but absolutely DOES have the glass doors)

window is small-ish. It is square, not round, so it is a decent window but is not "panoramic"

I have tried to select and book this room on several dates throughout the Summer and can't get it. I think that they don't release this one until closer to the sailing. Not sure. But we had three in the cabin and it was GREAT, plenty of room and I would book it again. And though I love the big window shown in the mid-ship POV's, I would take the shower doors over a curtain in lieu of the big window. I like space and comfort. And the window gave us a look outside at least.

We are going on the Vision in August and since it was the latest refit, I am trying to figure out if they gave the new POV rooms the shower doors. I can't do the curtain. Does anyone know?

I loved our forward 7th deck window room and would do it again in a minute. Space and comfort and glass shower doors. Bed was comfortable and the fold out sofa was the first I have seen of it's kind and was VERY generous and comfortable. There are four of these rooms forward. They are next to balcony rooms and the balcony space is essentially inside the room. Made for a very spacious room.

Anyone know about the shower doors on the Vision in the POV's??

  10. I would take the CC, but I am one who thinks the "little extras" are what sometimes makes all the difference. I love my nightly apps, my bottle of champagne, the fresh flowers, the nicer robes and the isotonic pillow. I just like the little extras. I've had lots of big balconies and though certainly nice, I like the larger interior and the extras more. Plus for me the extra point would factor in for sure....good luck with your decision!

  11. Carambola opens at 9.00am (local time).

Depends on how many ships are in port but a good idea to get there earlier in order to secure a chair.

Not too sure about whether they rent snorkel equipment but Shipwreck at the other end rents snorkel gear for US$10 per hour.

Make sure you bring your credit card as the bill can get hefty.

    Have a great time.

I'm a little confused about this place. I think this is a fancy restauranat on the beach, yes? Not really a "beach club"? I am looking at this place and the Marriott. Basically, I want to know if I can: 1) take a cab straight there from the port/I have a bad knee and can't walk rough terrain or long distances so want to be sure there isn't much "walking" to get there 2) I want to rent chairs and an umbrella but don't want to be committed to a minimum food and drink necessarily - is this possible? You mention the hefty bill thus I ask....

Any thoughts on this vs the Marriott. And I know we are the only ship in port that day - on the March 10th Eclipse sailing. Any helpful info on this is sure appreciated. Thanks!

  12. I am wondering about the price of the RFS compared to getting 3 cabins for 7 people. I see you have to call and cannot price it online. I am planning to book 2 balcony cabins and 1 interior and am curious as to how much more the RFS would be. Thanks.

Hi Marie -- I just reasearched this last night for 6 people. We have decided on the RFS. here is what I have found out. I can only speak for OUR cruise which is a Thanksgiving Cruise so price might be higher. Here are the combinations I looked at, prices listed include tax AND grats.

    Option #1: 3 cabins, D1 balcony and two K insides - $6673.40

    Option #2: 2 cabins, Grand Suite connecting to D1 balcony - $7160.20

    Option #3: 1 cabin, Royal Family Suite - $6771.70

We went with option #3. We will only have two bathrooms and two bedrooms vs 3 of each in option #1. BUT we will have a gathering area/living room. A huge balcony and a dining room table (two! one inside one outside) so we can order room service and just hang out and visit as a family. I have given this a lot of consideration and have decided the the RFS is the way to go for us. You can call a TA or RC and they will tell you over the phone the cost for the RFS. You need a minimum of people, usually. Hope that helps!

  13. Hello to all you lovely helpful people on these threads! I too would really love to see some RECENT pics of the RFS on the Mariner. I have booked it for Thanksgiving 2011. And all the pics I can access from this thread had some pretty tired looking furniture and decor. If anyone out there has anything recent from the Mariner on this suite -- would LOVE to see them. THANK YOU!
