I'm so glad to see your doing another review I love reading about your adventures. That is such a good idea about the return flights , I just said to my husband and he said he won't do a transatlantic so looks like it will just be me one day In the future.

we were on Allure 5 yrs ago when the previous drydock was just after our arrival to Europe. They did start working during our voyage and were fully in work very early on the arrival morning. The work they did during the cruise, was inside new cabins in the back of the ship, so mostly it was just smell of metal being worked, like welding or something. Other than that, we did not notice any interference etc especially not to the service.
But, for my husbands great delight, they had a sell out of all goods in all of the stores, including the liquor store. Which meant he stocked up our already totally full suitaces with some great alcohol deals on the last night of the cruise. I remember him paying something like 10 USD for a Grey goose bottle and two gins with 14 usd together.
Sorry for going to totally different direction, but I thought somebody might want to take an advantage on the sale as it is likely to happen again. Allures drydock is long and extensive, so they are definately going to clear the stores fully.
Thank you for your reply, sounds better as I was thinking that they would run out of things and would just seem like the staff were going through the motions of gettiing the ship over the pond for a dry dock so will now really consider doing this cruise as its really good value

Not sure if Im correct but i understand the ship is going into drydock when you get to europe. my question is if this is the case do you notice any difference in service or things available on board to be less or is there no difference. the reason im asking is im considering a transatlantic next year on harmony and she goes into drydock after she gets to europe next year. thanks in advance and loving your review.

I'll amend what I posted as I think may be from Great Britain. The UK site often has sailings that fall into the "Get More Get All" promotion that offers higher level drinks packages than typical sailings.
Thank you for your help. Yes im from uk and im trying to book a suite on grandiosa in oct 2019 to the med but will only allow me to book fantastica and not aurea so was a little confused as to whether drinks were included as it is a suite. Ive also noticed on uk site it includes gratuites in price and hot drinks and water.
-
can anyone please tell me are there any benefits in booking a suite for example is there a suite lounge or do you get free drinks at all. thanks as im a new msc cruiser.
-
sorry newbie msc cruiser, just wandering if im right in thinking that if i have the fantasia experience that i will still be able
to purchse a drinks package before we cruise. im just looking to book for next year and normally cruise rcl so a bit new to msc.
thanks for any information.
-
So if you have a promotion where drinks are included and go into different category with a royal up, you will loose all the drinks etc. thanks
-
You were too quick was going to post the above haha glad im not the only one counting down.
Im still in a situation on what will be coming to uk and then if I book something not doubt when the other
Europe itineraries gets released im hoping it isn't a better ship or better ports. Oh well 1st world problems I guess.

Can anyone tell me what will be in phase 1 of Europe and what will be in phase 2 or is it just
a case of wait and see. Im looking at a med cruise in 2020 but not sure what phase it will be in.

Ive just looked and they are there for the Barcelona to Dubai etc

Hi there we have just returned from a cruise on indy. my sons aged 9 and 12 came with us and when I first went to the kids clubs they said it was fine for my 12yo to join the club with my 9yo as he had only just turned 12. they also let us have the option that he couldn't sign himself out. they do allow this depending on how many children are on board. The only thing to bear in mind is that he then couldn't join the older group which would have been 12-17 as they have to choose one or the other. he loved going to kids club and had some fun. hope this helps.

I have a 12 yo and 9 yo and have literally just come off indy. They allowed my 12yo into adventure ocean and we did leave the boat to go ashore for a few hours while they were in kids club and was no problem. hope this helps

I emailed rci other day and they told me that café promenade is also going. I hope they have got this wrong though.

Hi there, just want to say what a fantastic report this is. its taken me quite a few weeks to get up to end and really appreciate all the time you have put into this. my family are going on the indi in a few months time so has been nice looking at some parts of the ship. Thanks again and keep up the great reporting.

We have 2 boys and were debating getting the package but we decided in the end not too and glad we didnt as for us wasnt worth it as the couple of drinks we did end up getting for kids they left as they were in such a rush to get back to kids club haha we loved our time on there and wouldnt hesitate to book on aos again. Hope this helps
