I hope this doesn't seem like a ridiculous question. We have some friends we met on a cruise a few years ago that we have become our cruise buddies. They want us to cruise with them in June on the Getaway. We have mainly cruised Disney and RCL and my 9 y/o son has been spoiled with constant things to do between the Dream, Fantasy, Oasis and Allure. The Getaway seems to be more adult oriented, sophisticated-perhaps not as kid friendly as some other lines. Obviously I've seen the activities available but will he be thoroughly entertained for 7 days? I would appreciate all insight.

I just checked and our bed is not by the balcony. Is it that big of a deal? Never cruised on the Oasis but on other ships I've had beds that were not by the balcony and it didn't really bother me. Is the balcony not accessible if there is a pull out bed? I'm a night owl and love to sit out at night and read so I'm concerned now that I would have to climb over my DS.

This is seriously the best thread ever! I've become a CC junkie. We booked our first cruise 2 weeks ago and found such great info here. Thank you all for such great info. I feel so much better prepared! :D
