One thing I really like about Celebrity is the Beyond the Podium series. Seeing your dailies posted for Sea days they had multiple presentations each day. Here's hoping that the Edge has as many as Solstice have had on your cruise.

I have been a regular NCL cruiser before switching to Celebrity. One of my favorites is the Star. We did an Alaska cruise on her about 14 years ago. I think you will like the ship - food and service maybe not as good as Celebrity.
Looking forward to your future reports!!

Wow just on this morning and in 6 hrs your report already at 3 pages! We are arriving in HNL on April 28th and leave on Edge to Vancouver on May 1st. Like the Solstice a lot, but could not make the dates for its voyage to Vancouver.

Same here with multiple cruise lines - always just take photo on app at check-in and always have to take new photo at terminal. So, I just skip photo at check-in now for that reason.

Going back to original question, last May we left Celebrity Apex about 7:20 (Walk Off) to train station, train to AMS, went thru security and was at terminal around 11:15. So it is doable but may be tight depending on what time you actual get off the ship and security line at AMS.
Agree with Jim and GVM's discussion on credit card usage. Another issue I did like was the wide acceptance of GPay on my Android phone just about everywhere (we didn't make it to a grocery store). Used the phone app for transit in Amsterdam.
Last thing - really really loved Amsterdam. Such a great place and met a lot of great people at the restaurants! BTW, in my opinion, Netherlands and Amsterdam has the best mass transit system.

Came across a "sponsored" article on Celebrity Edge Series- Eden Restaurant, Le Voyage by Daniel Boulud, Luminae at The Retreat, and Fine Cut Steakhouse. Interesting write up given the reviews here on CC: https://www.bonappetit.com/sponsored/story/the-decadent-delicious-dishes-on-celebrity-cruises

I like them as well. To me it serves the same purpose as a balcony but also gives "more living" space in the room. But as you say, overwhelming majority on CC has been negative feedback 😁

Thanks for the info!!

On my cruise planner, I have two options to upgrade wifi. Premium 2 device package at $27.99 per guest per day and Premium 1 device package at $7.99 per guest per day. With 2 guest in room, on the 1 device package does mean that for $15.98 per day we get 1 device per at premium wifi for one of us and the other guest gets basic wifi? Or both guests get 1 device each at premium wifi?

Hopefully you have a great cruise. I see you are going to Cayman Islands. I have wanted to go there for a while now. Zero for 2 in attempts. Last attempt was in December (16th thru 23rd) last month on NCL. We had very rough waters (Night of 16th we went thru 60 to 70 mph winds and 15 to 20ft waves) for the entire trip almost. Could not tender in Cayman unfortunately. But as always, make the best of it since it is a cruise after all!!!

Just got back from NCL Escape cruise right before Christmas and we did the Apex back in May. While food quality has definitely dropped on these two lines (and most others as well), Celebrity still better than most in my opinion. On a positive note, to us nothing beats Celebrity's Martini Bar!!!

Yes checked in for the Escape 16th cruise also. Printed out luggage tags - now to countdown the days. We live about 45 minutes from the port also.

Glad we did it. I'm really please that we arrived 4 days early for the cruise. There is so much to do. The one we will probably miss is the Night at Singapore Zoo.
Agree when do make it down under, I would like spend at least 4 days in Singapore. Googled Night at the Zoo, now you added something else to the list. Looks cool but at last only so much you can cram into a tight schedule. Love following your travels.

Thanks for your wonderful review. We are going on the Escape in a few weeks so your review was very good timing and info. We will definitely hit the Food Republic and Pincho's. (Also disappointed about the hashbrowns!!)
Finally hope you both don't have Covid and start feeling better soon!

Excellent review as usual and of course the pictures. We would love to do the Great Lakes cruise but after sailing on a Viking River cruise years ago (we were bored while on-board), not sure Ponant is for us (still debating). By your review and pictures, food on Ponant looks to be major upgrade over Viking. So it is a maybe!

Thanks Jim for posting daily programs. Actually more to offer than I was anticipating.

Jim thanks for posting menus. Question do they have a daily schedule for onboard you could post?

Always look forward to your pictures, especially the unique doors!

You can side load the app onto your android tablet and works for some tablets. Works on my Samsung tablet.

Agree on Vancouver. I was shocked at lack of security but it made getting off cruise extremely easy and fast.
