  1. We did this in playa del carmen when we were staying at a resort there. It's just a ferry ride from Cozumel. My mother who is also older loved it. There wasn't any kind of physical issues as she is a little mobility impaired. As long as he can sit on the ground and get up he'll be fine. They basically sit you down on the back of the boat with a harness on and then use a winch to land you on the back of the boat and bring you back in as well. We had them dip out feet in the water on the way down it was fun, and the view was spectacular.

As for tour operators get someone through your cruise line. The cruise lines check these companies out fairly thoroughly usually as it's their reputation on the line, and you should have a good experience.

Enjoy your para sailing ! :)

  2. We will be at Half Moon Cay in the beginning of January. We have our own snorkeling equipment (well, I don't have fins yet, but I will before we go). I am so glad that you all have posted about where to go. We will check all the spots out that we have time for. I am also buying an underwater camera mainly for this trip, then to use with the kids in the pool. Hope to get some good pictures!

We will be there on the same trip i believe NWbearcat ;)

we rented the cabana and are apparently checking out the same topics lol.

  3. our roll call is kinda quiet too and we leav this sat and noone has setup a meet n greet i even posted abt meeting some of them and only one person responded but its ok i will still hav fun and most likely meet others

Hey sweettara our role call for this ship is super quiet as well, january 12 sail date and were having issues scraping together the 20 people to secure a meet & greet with bar service.

not sure what is up with that.

  4. I'm a good person to answer this question.

    I've done 1 cruise & 1 all inclusive.

There are advantages and disadvantages to both.

    Booze

Cruising - The drinks are better because they have to entice people to pay for them.

    Variety

Cruising - you get to see alot more locations

    Entertainment -

this is a tough one, i found the entertainment in an all inclusive and on the cruise to be very similar.

    Peace & quiet -

All inclusive - I found this much easier to find on a resort than a cruise

    Food -

Cruising - Not due to variety but due to the fact that they cater to the american appetite and expectations of food and are not limited by local oils etc for their cooking. I found the all inclusives tried to cater to american foods and fell short due to the limitations of local availibility. they would have been far better sticking with their native foods, this may vary from resort to resort, we were in a 5 star highly rated one in playa del carmen though so...

Variety wise there was alot of availibility for whatever you wanted plenty of choices on both.

    Rooms -

All inclusive - the rooms on land are much bigger more spacious and generally better appointed for both comfort and luxury.

    Service -

Cruise hands down. They really try to cater to you on the cruises, where as with the all inclusive i found it to be a great deal less so.

I think thats the general categories.
