  1. Thank you for the thorough review of the Norwegian Getaway. We are staying in one of those "corner Aft Facing Penthouse Suites", and are certainly looking forward to spending time on that balcony. Your review only adds to that excitement, as now, we have a picture of it. You have given many delightful insights into the Norwegian Getaway and all she has to offer us.

We can't wait to experience the Haven on this vessel. Having experienced it aboard the Norwegian Epic, just recently, I can appreciate your wonderful comments in reference to the same.

Although NCL welcomes the "freestyle/casual" look for dining, there are still a few of us left who enjoy "dressing" for those dinners. Your review only adds to that experience for us.

We look forward to the extended dining experiences of the Speciality Restaurants, as we have enjoyed many of them on our past Norwegian Ships.

We have sailed some of the "other lines" on some of our past voyages, but always find ourselves back in the comfort of Norwegian Cruise Lines.

Out of 17 cruises so far, 12 have been with Norwegian.

When you find something good..........you never look back.

Again, thank you for the wonderful review.

It was a pleasure experiencing it.

    Respectfully,

    Steve.

  2. Having sailed with NCL numerous times, I certainly hope that you don't come away disappointed. I'm not sure what kind of room you will be staying in to make you think that you'll be disappointed, but don't let it spoil the good time that awaits you on an NCL ship.

We just came off of the "Oasis" in April, and we had a fabulous time....it is something that all should experience at least once...........

But, as my saying goes........the Norwegian Way is the Only Way.

  3. .......And Thank You to all who have given us the information about the 2 Bedroom Villas!!

We do enjoy our balconies so much......what a shame the Epic seems to be a little "lost" in this category.

That being said......it will NEVER sway us from sailing NCL. It will always be our first choice when determining our itinerary.

Everyone has their "favorites" for their own special reasons, and ours is simply for the service we receive from the staff, both before and during the cruise.

We have sailed other lines before, and had a great time on all of them. We have no (real) complaints to speak of in regards to them. We just prefer to sail NCL.

We did have one of those AFT balconies on the Carnival Legend, back in 2004......you wanna talk about big??? Man what a party you could have out there. (and we did). The room was kinda odd, and you would have to experience it to see what I mean.

    and......

God rest her soul, the famous NCL Norway......That was a balcony to die for.......it was bigger than the suite........and that suite was hugh!

  4. Tom...

    Thank You for the information..........

I too, wish the balcony was bigger, as we do enjoy our times out there.

I'm still "waying" my thoughts about actually spending the extra $$ and going all out and getting the Owners Suite with the big balcony.....

...but that room has its negative aspects too....

There is NO extra bedroom for my sister, and I certainly don't want her sleeping on a couch, no matter how comfortable it may be. Also, that Idea of overlooking the pool deck is not really my idea of enjoying my "sea days"...

    So I'm still thinking..........

I'd probably just stay put and live with it and see what happens.

Man, would I love that Penthouse to be on the AFT of the ship!!!

I would splurge for it in a second!

Thank you, once again for the information.....

  5. Was wondering is the infamous "Mr Don", or anyone else for that matter, can enlighten us with any "visual" information in reference to the 2 Bedroom Villa's on the 17th Deck. I have read where the Balcony is smaller than desired, but I was wondering about that "other bedroom."

Two of us are already booked into one of these Haven Suites for a future sailing, but we were wondering how comfortable that other bedroom may be.

We have another person (sister) who always goes on vacation with us. She is usually in a room (single) down the hall from our Penthouse. Unfortunately, "down the hall" isn't an option on Epic this time, unless she wins the lottery, because as you already know, no "balcony" staterooms are located in the Haven.

I certainly don't have an issue with having my sister stay in the same suite as us, but I would certainly want her to be comfortable in that extra bedroom, and hope that it isn't something like a pull out couch.

If anyone has any guidance in reference to this, or actually experienced one of these suites, we would certainly appreciate the insight.

Hope all is well with everyone....

  6. Gotta always keep that positive "cruise attitude" when sailing....

We have all heard (I'm sure) some of the cry babies while on board....

What they are crying about, is beyond me...

I mean, any meal thatyou don't have to prepare yourself is great, right?!

Any room that you don't have to clean yourself, is wonderful, huh??

There are plently of food choices on board, so If you can't find something that you enjoy, I really feel sorry for you......(Your issues probably go much deeper.)

Treat people as YOU would expect to be treated, and watch the smiles all around.

So we'll quote the lyrics from a famous man, Micheal Jackson........

...."If you want to make the world a better place, just look at yourself, and make a change".

Nothing in life is 100%......except dying, that is, so when life sends lemons your way.........MAKE LEMONADE!!

Besides, with the money spent on a cruise, you might as well be happy about it.

Looking forward to Another Wonderful Norwegian Cruise.........

    Ismay:D

  7. If Mr. Don (the cruise review gu-ru) can supply any real pictures of the Epic's Haven Suites interiors, that would really be an added blessing/bonus.

We are presently booked into one of the 2 bedroom suites on deck 17.

NCL is known for its Aft Facing Penthouses & Owners Suites, but unfortunately, Epic wasn't designed with this in mind.

Her "Best of the Best" are located either overlooking the bow (been there, done that), or overlooking the pool deck (???). Somehow, I just can't convince myself to shell out the extra $$ to have a romantic glass of wine whilst the masses view it from below......

..(and I'm sure they might not enjoy the morning coffee show in the undies, either, but you never know as we are actually fit.)

....but anyway, we would much rather enjoy the sea going by........

And.......that meant booking the Next Best, the two bedroom suite......

Besides.......I've read that the bathroom shower is to die for........

Holds 2 people, and has glass walls overlooking the sea....

Now that's what I call "good clean fun.":)

  8. ......And many Thanks goes out to "The Man", Don for his extensive review of the Norwegian Epic.

Being loyal fans of NCL ourselves, it was nice to read how indepth he was able to focus his attention on the Norwegian Experience, and relay that back to others for enjoyment.

Having sailed on other cruise lines, I can certainly appreciate that....

The Norwegian Way IS the only way!

Our upcoming "Epic" experience, scheduled for departure on April 19, 2014..(yes you read that date correctly), is something that we are so looking forward to, especially the luxuries of "The Haven".

Being part of the younger crowd it takes us a little extra time to save up our pennies to travel in the suites, but once you do it.......you'll never look back.

    Respectfully,
