I am also on this cruise.  I believe I met you and your DH on the Crown in 2019.  It was in the Piazza competition for Martinis.  He was also concerned about using the wi-fi calling to be able to stay in contact with his mother.  See you on board tomorrow.

Hey Tanya!  Geoherb told me he saw you while waiting in the rope lines to board the ship!  Enjoy your cruise!  😉

Maybe 10% of the ship dressed up. Note to self: skip packing formal dress. Nice pants works

    Side additional note:

Alfredos Apple Tart changed. Still good

The tart looks so good!  DH will be on next week!  The eyeglasses wipes do work well.  I used them on my glasses while wearing my mask when we would attend hockey games for Carolina Hurricanes (regular season and two rounds of playoffs-losing to the eventual Stanley Cup Champions, Tampa Bay Lightening.  They really help reduce the glasses fog.

  3. Sitting on my front porch in Raleigh, NC.  Like someone else said, I am treating it as my balcony.  Our neighborhood is very walkable and its fun to see the neighbors walking by and occasionally we engage in conversation at a safe distance.  DH and I are retired and I have been working my 25 hour per week part-time job from my living room since mid-March.  When I am not working, sometimes I will log in to laptop and look at the Port Everglades webcam as well as the princess ship webcams to see their various locations.  My favorite two today are the Caribbean and Crown Princess Ships in Curacao.  It looks so sunny and warm there.  DH is a gourmet cook and we had the Princess Flourless Chocolate Cake a few weeks ago on our wedding anniversary.  We are also big hockey fans and were sad that our Carolina Hurricanes were knocked out of the Stanley Cup playoffs last week by the Boston Bruins.  We're still enjoying watching the teams continuing on -- on tv.  We're missing the cruise life.  Last cruise for DH was panama canal last December for his birthday.  He had a great time!  I am so looking forward to when we can cruise again.  One of our favorite cruises has been trans atlantic from Southampton to NYC and  Ft. Lauderdale in the Fall of 2018 and 2019.  DH is retired and a potter.  Our NC State Fair has been cancelled for Fall 2020.  He will not be able to sell his pottery or be a paid judge in the herbs and flower competition.  He is also missing his bridge games, but he is able to play online.

At least being on the internet at home, we don't have to worry about our internet minutes and the internet speed is a little quicker than at sea.  I am wondering what cruising will be like once covid is under control.  We both like to follow the rules so we will do what it takes to get back on a cruise ship.  Take care all!  CPASam

  4. Our neighborhood in Raleigh, NC had a Scavenger Hunt last Sunday afternoon.  It was a lot of fun with my neighbors participating.  We kept 6' distance from each other.  The grand prize for the winner was a 12 pack of Charmin Toilet paper.  The runners-up got boxes of kleenex.  I am working from home part-time in the living room with the organization I retired from a few years ago.  DH, also retired, was working part-time as well, but his organization paused his contract when we were required to stay home.  We both miss cruises.  Designated husband went to Alaska last June/July and Panama Canal on his birthday in Dec.  I stayed home and worked and looking after mama.  I also watch the porteverglades web cam from time to time.  This morning, I can hear the birds chirping from the Ft. Lauderdale Port.

  5. From DH: We had a storm on Sunday night.  At least one tree down at the end of the alleyway that fell into Anita and David's driveway.  It landed on Anita's Audi.  No electricity until dawn on Tues.  No internet, so I called provider and they're supposed to come fix, if not fixed before on Thurs noon-2pm.  We'll be home after I pick you up at the airport.  I stayed at work tonight to catch up on your live!  It sounds great!  I know you are enjoying it!   Congrats on getting into the top 40 in the library.  I'm happy that your trivia teams have done so well.  Carolina Hurricanes Hockey:  Aho got an offer from the Habs and I'm certain the Canes will match it.  Do it again, Brock McGinn is going to arbitration.  Petr was signed to a 2 year deal.  You probably know all of this from reading the local paper online, but I just wanted to report.  Work has been busy with two people out this week.  Can't wait until you return home on Thurs and the long 4 day weekend!  Thanks thread followers for letting me update Geoherb with news from home!  :)
