  1. Hi all,

I have a DJI spark quad copter which I like to take with me on my Carnival Cruises (Yes, they've allowed it on several consecutive cruises and it's in writing on their website that it's allowed, so please do not respond with "don't even bring it" or "they will confiscate it"). I've used it in places like HMC, GT, etc. but never taken it to the Bahamas. Does anyone have any experience with using it while in Nassau, Princess Cays, or Freeport? There appears to be a way to register it on the Bahamas aviation site, but I didn't know if that was more for professional usage. I'm talking a VERY small drone, with the expectation of 20-30 minutes flight time at a beach only.

    Thanks in advance

  3. I was just on Grandeur in January and honestly, I was a bit disappointed. The housekeeping was lacking and the ship needs some love. I know they are going into drydock but there was so much deferred maintenance I wonder how much they were going to do. The food was okay but I think Carnival's is better. Pride has been updated with Guy's and the burrito place. I have not been on her since the upgrade but I have been on sister ships and I like the layout and the ship class. The entertainment is better on RCCL, no question. My children always preferred the Carnival Kid's Club over the RCCL one. Bottom line, I was ready to get off Grandeur. It was a 12 day cruise but I have never been like that and I have been on a lot of cruises. Too bad we have we have that bridge and can't get some bigger ships in. Oh well, it is still nice to have a port so conveniently located.

    Great info, thanks!

  4. Hi all, we have sailed many times with CCL, all but one on the Pride out of Baltimore. We are considering trying the Granduer. For those of you who have sailed both, what advice/info can you give us? We are 32 yo with a 9 yr old son. We love CCL and The Pride. With that little information, would you recommend we try RCCL and why/why not? Thanks in advance!

  5. My recommendation is go the first night for the free wine or buy the meat in the MDR for a slight upcharge. While the steak was top notch on our last Pride cruise, the customer service, overall wait times to receive drinks/meals, and quality of all non-entree items were sad. Wife and I agreed we would much rather be in the MDR where service was better and friendlier, and enjoy the better cuts of meat for a charge. Just My humble

    Opinion

  6. Thank you for the review. Carnival really goes above and beyond in situations like this. Some people won't be happy no matter what. I think those are the ones who probably get treated bad in their home or professional life and they like to "do their part" to pass it on.

  7. Hi all,

We are schedule to eat at David's steakhouse onboard the Pride soon. We did this back in 2010 also but can't remember much about it other than we did enjoy it.

We were looking at the menu online last night and other than large cuts of meat, nothing really seemed to be much different than what you may find in the MDR on formal night...

My question is, is it worth the 100 bucks to do this experience again? We do enjoy good steak, but are we going to find something more here than say, a filet at a land based steakhouse?

Ps- I also noticed a lot of seafood on the menu...which I do not eat so it limits me a little more.

    Thoughts?

  8. Hi all,

We were on the Pride back in Oct and they ran a large sale most of the week on Invicta watches. As I'm planning my next cruise coming up in May, I wondering if anyone can tell me if this sale is pretty common (I imagine that it is) and how much do these watches normally cost after the markdown? I'd like to budget to get one...

    TIA!

  9. Lol! Of course! Thank you!

**See silly brain, why couldn't you figure that one out yourself?

On one of the videos I was watching, someone mentioned that on deck 4 in the hallway there's a secret door that has a stairwell that goes down to deck 3, and from there you can get to the dining room quicker. Have you guys ever used it? and if so, do you know if you can access the door on deck 3 to go back up to deck 4 or is the one on deck 3 locked?

I've heard this too....would love to know!

  10. We booked a Vista aft wrap on deck 4. I was watching a youtube video that was filmed while the ship was at sea. The noise seemed pretty loud. The person filming did mention that the ship was at 19 knots so it wasn't always that loud, but I'm kinda concerned about it now. Any input?

I do know the wake is pretty noisy, but I'm actually looking forward to that part!

  11. As stated above, the flag is presented only when in port, at sea it is taken down.

Spirit class deck 4 aft cabins are our favorite, stayed in one at least 10 times. Our first aft cabin was on the Pride back when it was on the west coast, a few years ago.....

Laundry room across hall on the port corner. Also an external stairwell right off the corners leading down to deck three. One flight of stairs down to the upper dining room, and elevators to aft lido right around the corner. And no hallway traffic. Balcony has a full overhang above and the most useable balcony space (railings are nearly vertical). If you like balcony time you should love your cabin selection.

    Good to know!

  12. I have not specifically stayed on deck 4. We've been on 7 in the aft wraps, but from everything I recall the flag pole is based at deck 3 and projects aft. The only time the flag of the ship will be out is while in port, so I would highly doubt the pole would cause major impact to viewing.

    Great to hear! Thanks!
