With the mass media creating the hysteria and panic as they do, cruising won't be happening anytime soon.  The media made sure that cruise ships were the evil incarnate of the Chinese virus.  Those that think cruising will begin next month are simply delusional.

Welcome back. You had me worried when I saw you on another thread panicing that NCL was going bankrupt.  It seemed not to be you.  Now this assures us you are back in control 😁

That’s misinformation. CFAR refunds you in money not cruise credits. You are penalized depending on how many days out from departure by NCL. Then you submit a claim and get 75( or 90%) of the difference.

Incorrect.  You are spreading false information.  You cannot cancel a cruise because a fear of a virus and get any refund period.  NCL's cancel for any reason would NOT refund you either but give you future cruise credit.

    Please research the policy.

Travel insurance doesn’t pay because you cancelled because you were afraid of illness.

Travel insurance does not cover pandemics and existing conditions since the virus has been around awhile now.  News channels covering the cruise lines explained this on TV.  The only protection is the cruise line's "Cancel for any reason" insurance that does NOT refund your money but give you 75% to 90% future cruise credit for a future cruise.

I've noticed it depends where I look.  Under general cruise accommodations it says: With plenty of room to relax, our beautifully appointed, luxury suites offer some of the grandest accommodations, available on board Norwegian Joy. Feel pampered with 24/7 concierge service, available to help with everything from booking shore excursions to arranging customized experiences. Private dining, priority embarkation and disembarkation, and special perks round out the exclusive experience.

Under Joy accommodations it says:Finished with the finest touches, our concierge category features spacious, luxury accommodations, concierge service, and private breakfast.

LOL that is even more vague. Private dining can mean in-suite dining or free room service.  Notice it does not say private RESTAURANT.   IMHO the private breakfast/dining is free breakfast room service.  I am skilled at understanding NCL slick language. Since so many are on the Joy now, don't you think the "private restaurant" for these cabins would have leaked by now?

Already posted and discussed.   Thread from page 2.

As soon as I saw this thread my reaction you would be post 2 but I was wrong.  You were #3. Its great that these are the only kinds of things you post on CC.  But can you please let others discuss without constant interruption.  This was already posted.  This was already posted.  Why is this thread activated.  This was already posted.  Are you a robot?

Sorry they are Not the Media. If they want Haven access they need to Pay for a Haven Room just like every other Haven Guest. NCL shouldn't have caved an given them even the one free dinner in the Haven. Hopefully NCL sees this video and reads their letter. Then they can see what Real Scam Artists they are.

Their site should be called "Cruising for Compensation"

I'm more upset about the term "social media influencer" than anything else.

    Yes, its laughable.

We all have a youtube channel so I guess we are all social media influencers.  Imagine Jim Zimmerlin pulling a stunt like this.  He has a quarter of a million subscribers and would never stoop so low.  These guys get a few hundred to thousand views on their channel......hardly a media influencer.  But to label yourself as such to shake cruise lines down is wrong and this should be exposed.

    In short:

    1. Social media influencer convinces cruise line to give him press / VIP treatment by finding a receptive media partner in their office.
    2. Employee in the Haven does not recognize this situation and does not respond appropriately to special circumstance.
    3. Social media influencer feels entitled and does not brush it off lightly.
    4. Social media influencer decides to make an issue of it then proceeds to engage as many others as possible and make an activity of calling this employee out for his entire cruise through a number of escalating situations.
    5. Social media influencer informs hotel staff, writes cruise line leadership, decides this is not enough.
    6. Social media influencer creates an hourlong tarring and feathering video of this employee by name - including naming and providing photos of all the other cruise staff involved.
    7. Social media influencer uses his channel to distribute said video.

You are not correct.  They had no special passes to enter the Haven.  As someone else pointed out, the inaugural Alaskan Bliss cruise was packed with NCL VIP's, etc.  They assumed because they had a prior VIP treatment it was going to happen again as if they are that special.  That is a huge clarifier that needs pointed out.  Adrian was shooing Haven guests to Margaritaville because there was no room.  Why would non-Haven guests with no prior authorization be allowed in dine in the Haven.

OK so flame away if you must!  But these guys have treated me VERY KINDLY.  I had a question on Haven accessibility (on their last cruise even though I knew before hand they were not in the Haven) and no one on this forum (no even you Bird Travels) responded to my question. They took time away from THEIR vacation to find the answer to my question about my Haven access (which will happen in May).  I so appreciate their kindness.

So to those who feel they are more righteousness, good for you.  These are good people that don't deserve your pseudo outrage!

Welcome to cruise critic.  Glad you were assisted.  The video speaks for itself.

  10. #1 That information is in the other threads.

#2 There isn't a poll here if you tried to generate one.

Edit: Not trying to give the OP crap but those threads are allowed by the mods to get too long and it gets hard to get good info from them. When a thread gets too long , it's useless.

Why must you be the constant buzz kill on these boards. If you don't like the thread or have nothing constructive to add then don't open the thread. You can always apply for a moderator's job. You are always the second to comment on people's threads telling them what they can or cannot do, telling people what polls they can or cannot open, and how unhappy you are that threads get too long. Chill and let others post things.

Not sure why you are coming across so angry BUT I'll answer your question. I've been on most of the NCL ships except for the two newest ones and I can tell you for a fact that I have seen older teens who are with their parents have no problems working out in the gym. It's not a pack of young teens who are acting up or causing trouble. Pretty much common sense. Most of the places don't even check the cards.

It should be that way. Common sense.

Angry? Pack of teen? What? I am not angry and I never said there was a pack of teens. I don't have a problem with kids working out with their parents but have not seen it. So I am curious. Maybe the kids you saw were 18 and 19 year old?

  12.

Nope, you are absolutely wrong. I've seen plenty of kids in the gym with their parents who are not 18. ColinIllinois is right.

Oh please do tell which ship and when. My kids were never allowed to work out or go to the spa with me. I have worked out in many NCL gyms and don't recall ever seeing children work out even with their parents. Maybe this is new. Do tell.

  13. Jeff, I'm pretty much a gym rat myself, even while I cruise and I can tell you even if your son is 15 if he goes with you and works out where you are no one will say anything to him.

Wrong. Must be 18 to use the gym or spa. Key cards know your date of birth. Apparently you have never cruised with kids.

    Gym rat, yeah ok LOL

  14. The go carts go 30 MPH. That definitely is not slow.

Would you all call me a bad mom if my son told me he did not want to cruise with the ship because the go carts went too slow and I told him he did not have to go? Because that is what I would do.

None of us find vacations that fit for everyone. Kids can be tough especially on long car rides. I am lucky because we don't have any problems with cruising. I would not call it tough love but you make the best of what you got especially on vacation. My children have imput on vacations but if I surprise them with a cruise and they are cranky about going they are welcome to stay with the grand parents. You can flame me all you want LOL

  15. I can understand the mindset of a 14 year old who has been on 15 cruises LOL

Cruising is maybe not as big deal as to others like me and my kids who cruise once or twice every few years. If my parents took me on cruises several times a year, I probably would be picky too. My kids would never complain about going on a cruise. That is for sure

  16. "Nickel and diming" is a term used by people who are disgruntled because they didn't do their due diligence to research all costs associated with cruising and cruising activities.

Every cruise line will try to get every penny they can out of you. Business 101.

If you know what your costs will be in advance of your booking you can make an intelligent decision on which line you want to spend your hard earned money on.

    False

Its not a play on words or disgruntled people. Of course all cruise lines or resorts do it but the phrase has nothing to do with disgruntled people and it has nothing to do with people not planning on spending. If consumers know costs in advance then they can plan. Vacation resorts and cruise lines charge surprise or hidden fees that many first time cruisers are not aware of. Fee's for eating better food, NCL charges for entertainment, spa use, etc. Its not accurate or fair to call those consumers disgruntled. Its a phrase that is widely and commonly used.

  17. Dear Lord wearing short while on vacation is not dressing like a pig

Why get so concerned what others are wearing. Relax and enjoy your cruise without worrying about what others are doing, wearing, or ordering them to the buffet.

Just imagine if someone came to you and called you a stiff and were offended you were on a Caribbean vacation and loosen up some. It would be uncalled for. You know if you wear a suit in Key West you will get yelled at in the street.

    First world problems

    :)

  18. I don't understand the anger and outrage many feel when someone writes something as an adult that is their opinion that others may not agree with. Some take it so personal if someone says, I think I like another cruise line better than NCL or I don't like all the changes NCL is doing.

The mockery of the response by some is childish and something my 4th grader would do. Sometimes I see YOU WONT BE MISSED or even personal attacks

If threads like this bother you then why are they opened by the same people over and over. Cant we discuss cruising like adults? I did not see anything dramatic , negative or wrong the OP discussed. Its their opinion and their right to do so. I think some need better ways to occupy their time than sit by a computer all day hoping someone will complain about NCL.
